After a very stressful night surviving in your hideout alone, The moment this music picks up gives me a sense of relief that it's over...for now. You'd have to do it all over again the next night. But for now, enjoy it while you still can. And take the time to plan a strategy for surviving the next night.
The relief you feel when you see your barricades being pushed slowly but surely by a monster that will definitely kill you when it sees you only to see the sun come up is an unrivaled feeling.
Think the reason why darkwood's such a good horror game is that it's 'slow horror' where you can know something is coming for you, you have time to prepare for it, but there's no guarantee that your preparations will do anything to stop it
So true, I remember in the silent forest having all my barricades set up, my pistol loaded bear traps placed around my room, I was confident, that night was hell though, they broke in all 3 possible ways they could get in over the course of the night I don’t know why they were so aggressive that night, but I barely survived it, never felt confident about my preparations again.
*You show the stranger the photo of the road. He slowly inspects it, before taking the time to carefully scribble something in his hand. He turns to show it to you. *"All roads lead deeper into the woods, Brother."* *... He nods.
This is the sound of fighting depression. Theres this strange sense of triumph and gratefulness to still be standing, yet it sounds like desolation all around you
honestly i looked at darkwood in a similar fashion, in a strange way it helped me relate to the protagonist by creating an ultimate headcanon metaphor about it. surviving a night is the equivalent of surviving a day for me, that relief you feel in the morning, the relief you feel when you get home. You're safe, nothing can hurt you but you have to go back out again the next day and face it all over again, but at least for now you're okay. The music perfectly encapsulates that feeling.
A knock on the door, growls in the night. You hold a pistol and shovel close. The knocking gets louder, banging. It's not human. The door starts to give, you see something between the cracks. Its getting brighter. You aim your pistol, a red light is shining through the windows. The door breaks down, a shot rings out. It all goes white... its morning again.
On one hand, I was actually upset that our trader brother has perished on chapter 2 after thinking we would actually make it out together, but on the other hand I can’t help but find the three to be likable. They have this strange aura to them that I like.
I feel I know I already know death.. bring it... but no, give me more... the roads are false, the world guides... the only road that exists is the one I can experience for myself.... the one I can experience.. keep going, good luck, meat.

True, slow but inevitable. A very good horror movie is "It follows", has the same kind of horror, slow but inevitable, except the ending
god i love this games OST its absolutely amazing in showing the tention and calm in stressfull situations

All roads DO lead deeper into the woods 😔
The trader is one of my favorite characters.
@@frug5629Liar....
@@frug5629he is my favorite, without him I would’ve died at the doctors house and most nights I’d be unprepared if he didn’t trade with me.

But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep."

God, youve no idea what this mix has done for me. The pinnacle of sleep aid. You genuinely have brought me peace with this transition. Thank you.
Thank YOU for letting me know 💙

Words cannot fully express how this mix feels. There’s just an uneasy serenity to it.
Did anyone else get like engineered to be calm by this game when this plays?
Stunningly beautiful
I was waiting for someone to use the trader's animation for one of these songs. Thank you for uploading
"We're in this together, brother."
The nightmare ends, but the scars are still there.

I intent to make it my alarm call song =)
Good way to know you're dreaming. Imagine you're having a nightmare and you start to hear this and you say to your demons HAHA FUCK YOOOOOU!!!!
@@kanehodder3459 That would be just awesome!

I'm gonna be the odd man out and say I thought The Three were lovely designs and i associated with them the moment I saw them.
The Trader gave you a feeling of truly not being alone in a way no other character could
should've had The Three replace The Trader when Last Hideout began :)
They do
@@loomingmoon4682 I think they mean like the image in the video lmao
