  • As Union Home Minister Amit Shah's comments on Hindi as the national language of India continue to create an uproar, another South politician has raised their voice to stop Hindi imposition.
In a video uploaded by actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan, he has said another language agitation will take place, which will be much bigger than the Jallikattu protests in Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister, B.S Yeddyurappa has reacted to the Hindi language row saying that all official languages are equal and added that Kannada is the official language as far as Karnataka is concerned.

If the govt. is hell-bent on promoting Hindi as the NL, it will create a linguistic tsunami in many states snd Union Territories: Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telenganna, Kerala, Tripura, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Lakshadeep, Andaman & Niicobar, etc. Emtions will run high and mayhem will subsequently follow. The states (e.g. Karnataka, Tamilnadu) could decide to leave the Union of India and strive for independence. A grim possibility. The language conundrum leading to the fragmentation of a nation was very vividly illustrated by the genesis of Bangladesh in 1971. Source of the problem? West Pakistan wanted to ram the Urdu language, by force, down the throats of the Bengali-speaking East Pakistanis. Outcome? Civil war and the subsequent birth of Bangladesh. We should look at the stark reality of the potentially incendiary situation and learn from our two neighbours in terms of relatively recent history. Jai Bharat!

Communication gap can be remove by one language

    • @n.rajandrannair9513
      @n.rajandrannair9513 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@adityajoshi1122 States in the South will not agree to the imposition of one language as the national language. Even if it is Tamil or Kannada - let alone Hindi. We sre on the cusp of amazing technological advances permeating every fabric of our society, at every nook and corner of the country. Forget about any one national language. Let English, the only NEUTRAL language in the equation, be the ONLY LINK LANGUAGE of our nation. The status quo of the twenty-two official lsnguages, should remain intact, as per the Constitution. People from North India SHOULD make it a point to learn Communication Kannada whilst working in a city like Bengalaru. Like wise, a person with roots in Karnataka should learn Hindi (communication Hindi) if he is assigned to New Delhi, for example. We do not have to ram one language down the throat of a non-speaker in the name of national unity and integration. In this day and age, there are so many language-based computer software incorporating voice synthesizers. Isn't life nowadays not complicated enough dealing with bread-and-butter issues? Do we need the language issue to retard our national unity movement along the lines of linguistic hegemony? Pakistan, China, JeM, Kashmir are issues that are very crucial to us. An existential threat to be dealt with effectively in the long run. Food for thought, huh? And let education and the study of the English language, at least at the primary and secondary levels, be accessible to all Indian citizens.
And one more thing. People should be given all support possible to learn another language (thitd language) or any one of the official Indian languages as per their whim. German, Mandarin, Bengali, Hindi, Tamil, etc. Jai Bharat!

    Arignar Anna's Quote:
A man had two dogs - a big one and a small one. He wanted his dogs to go in and out of the house freely without him having to keep the house door open all the time. So he built two "trap doors" - one big trap door for the big dog and one small for the small dog. Neighbors who saw these two doors laughed at him and called him an idiot. Why put a big door and a small door? All that was needed was the big door. Both the big and the small dog could use it!
Indian government's arguments for making Hindi the National or link language of India are as ridiculous as the need for a big door and a small door for the big dog and the small dog. Indian government agrees that English is needed for communication with the world, and every school in India teaches English at some grade or other before one passes the high school. Why do people outside the Hindi states have to study Hindi for communications within India while they already study English for communication with the world?

Do you know the history of hindi? Hindi is a bastard language, created by a mixture of Sanskrit (a dead language as of now) and Urudhu (again from persian) in the 15 th century (spoken by beggars and illiterates of those times), with no history or classical literature to claim. Be ashamed of your so called language rather than asking us to speak the so called language. The real languages of India are thousands of years old. Hindi is technically called a "PIGDIN" (Google it to know the meaning) like BAMBAIYA (A mix of marathi and hindi... spoken in Mumbai).

    3) Third, Amit shah will pass an article for language in both the houses(Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha).

    Comedy no:1 Hindi uniting India
My friend went to kerala and learnt malayalam then spoke to the people in malayalam . another friend came to chennai from karnataka learnt tamil and spoke tamil to all. what is mean by hindi uniting india to stop these people in speaking local people language just making malayali to speak in hindi with kannadiga is uniting india. Intention is making hindi people grab all opportunities and spread finally dominating india
Comedy no 2: People will be benefited by Hindi
Hindi people could not get proper job opportunity in theri hindi speaking states like UP and Bihar who are all coming to south india (non-hindi states). Hindi people themselves did not get any benefit
Comedy no3: Lets make hindi as national language
Initially states divided based on regional language then slowly added hindi as official languages , now they want hindi to dominate othe languages making it as national language.
Comedy No4: Hindi is not imposed.
But even LPG cylinder has safety instructions only for the customers who knows Hindi and English. So government forcing rural area customers to learn either english or hindi which means imposing.
Comedy No5: Hindi will be link language
So funny already i need a large link language connecting to global countries called english , can i speak hindi as link language when i visit USA ,Cannada or Australia. when i already have a large link language connecting whole world then why a small another link language specific to India, is India not in the world?
Comedy No6: 45% of Indian population speaks Hindi language
Great survey and census taken, So what. Did you take any survey to those 45% of the population whether they agree to make hindi as link or national language. please take that since there are lot of people among 45% hindi speaking population against this idea, example hindi speaking people in karnataka, maharastra, kerala, west bengal told they are against in making hindi as link or national language.
Comedy No7: Hindi is the only language can be made as National language to roam around India
Is it? Tamil is the national language is some countries but hindi is not attained national language in any countries. Even tamil has become highly recognized language in countries like fiji, mauritius, australia, karnataka, germany, USA, UK,China, etc. If we claim this way i bet all the hindi language state people will fire like anything if tamil do the same they will stamp as Chauvinist. but i never say any language of India should be made as National language since we believe in Language equality not uniformity

I am from Tamil Nadu, I have listed few details how imposition of Hindi will affect Tamil, this is applicable for other regional language.
Below I have provided explanation as to why the claim that Hindi is good for future survival of tamil culture and prosperity is a false propaganda by the Hindi belt politicians. Their agenda is to strength their political base in the south by imposing their language. In doing so, they will have a political future in the southern states at the expense of regional parties. Already we are losing the use of our language in several fields due to English, with Hindi there will not be any requirement of Tamil in the future.
Let us imagine Tamil language is in a coffin. I will list the nails that has been slowly added by the Indian politician to that coffin since the British and Indian independence .
    1. Children who study in English medium schools, science, geography, physics, chemistry, history, maths, biology, engineering all are taught in English. English being the world language it is good for our future survival. People who take tamil as secondary language in english medium, will be able to read and write tamil at basic level. They’ll not be creators in tamil as their language of thinking would be English. Their knowledge creation would only be in English. These people live in the cities who jump from one city to another for their economic prosperity and survival.
    2. Children who study in tamil medium will have English as their secondary language and will be able to read/write English at basic level. These children live in secondary cities and villages. They find it difficult to pursue higher studies in science, geography, physics, chemistry, history, maths, biology in English when they join colleges. Forced to create new knowledge in English. To fix this the number of children in English medium in secondary cities and villages has increased in the last 50 years. With this increase, tamil in future will not be required to explain science, geography, physics, chemistry, history, maths, biology and would only be used for communication, basic reading and writing. If Hindi is going to be introduced, we don’t need tamil for communication, everyone would prefer Hindi after 3-5 generations.
    3. In our society, Tamil is currently being used in religion, entertainment and literature (This will fade) with the growth of English and Hindi. Tamil literature will slowly decline as the number of reader move to English and Hindi. If there is no market for tamil literature there will no longer be any creative writing in it. Only copying and translation in the future.
    4. No knowledge creation in tamil (i.e. scientific, technical paper, journal) in the following field science, geography, physics, chemistry, history, maths, biology, engineering. All scientific paper has to be published in English. Reference to knowledge is only available in English.
    5. Administration will slowly move towards English/hindi.
    6. High court in Tamil Nadu cannot use tamil language to interpret the law and provide judgement. Only English/hindi. Tamil vocabulary will not grow in this field of law.
The requirement of tamil language has been reduced to the following field
Communication, religion, entertainment and literature. This will also die in another few generation and would be replaced by other language English/Hindi.
Tamil requirement in science, technology, business and law field has been slowly eroded because there is an easy replacement (i.e. english). The question is do we accept that status quo. If we accept it and continue then slowly the tamil language will loose it significance as it’s vocabulary will not grow in the above field and because of that their will not be any new literature and knowledge in tamil language in the coming generation. So it will be avoided by the coming generation for their survival. BJP/RSS peoples are spreading false message through news channel regarding the benefits of learning Hindi, when there is none. I agree the state politicians for their selfish gain has given away the state rights, which is hurting the public. Why should we burden our son/daughter to learn additional language in their childhood when its benefits are minimal in the future, it would be required only for socialising and entertainment.
When we are paying taxes to the central government what has the central government done to promote the regional language so its usage can be strengthen in various fields. In high courts we can't use our language for arguments and judgement. There is a hidden agenda to reduce the use of regional language as official language so that usage of Hindi/English becomes the main language in trade, education, business and administration.

Impressed from 2 non-hindi panelist's point of view. Superb logic gentleman.
1). Any language that is not a mother tongue is a foreign language for us. And if we were to choose one foreign language, then that should help me secure a career, that should be globally accepted, that should have access to all the fields like science, medicine, law etc., From all these thoughts, Its a No brainer to choose English to Hindi.
2). As far as respect, love is concerned, Hindi is respected like any other regional language. But, Necessity wise English is more necessary even more necessary to any mother tongue.

South Indians are lucky, at least your language is the language of majority in your respective states. We who speak Urdu as our mother tongue are a minority all over the country, before independence Urdu was the co official language at par with Hindi in most of the Hindi belt but after partition, Urdu was completely stripped and even after 1980s when it was reintroduced as an official language in UP, Bihar and Delhi, the same was made as a second official language (not co official) due to which it has ended up becoming an optional subjects in schools and colleges resulting in a slow death of Urdu in north India (it has gone down from 5.3% in 1981 to just 4% in 2011 with a decrease in absolute numbers from 51 million in 2001 to 50 million in 2011 (with the lost numbers going in favor of Hindi). Urdu should be reintroduced as at par equal co official language the way it was before independence in the hindi belt.
