This has been one of the more enjoyable straight talking reviews of the Ford Maverick that I have seen thus far. I totally agree with your thoughts on the car vs pickup debate. I am in my upper sixties and it has been 12 years since I owned a basic pickup (2009 Ford Ranger) and now I have a base Xl Hybrid ordered . I ordered it for the same exact reasons you bought yours. of you ever have the chance to come to Newfoundland, I would like to buy you an Iceberg beer and an order of fish & chips and we can compare notes on the Maverick. Thanks and Merry to you and your family. Stay safe.
Traded my 2019 Ranger in for a Maverick Lariat in early Dec. great move making my trade. Love the Maverick!! It’s definitely not perfect but I like it a lot more than my Ranger.
Don’t get me wrong, I liked the Ranger. Things I like better about the Maverick are: 1) Price, I was able to get a lot more options for my money. Including things like the ActiveX seats. Sunroof, which isn’t even an option in the Ranger. 2) the bed, even though it’s shorter, it’s better for me and my needs. The Ranger bed is so high. Very hard at times to get stuff in and out. Especially for someone with a bad knee. 3) The look. I love the design of the Maverick so much more than the outdated look of the Ranger. I do think that 2023 Ranger looks really good!! 4) Lower and driving. It’s so much more comfortable getting in and out of the Maverick. The Maverick handles the road so much better, just an all around better driving experience. Hope that all helps!
Great review! My Lariat Hybrid has Shipped, finally! ETA 1/1/22 - 1/7/22. Ordered June 26, confirmed June 28, in production week of 9/20/21. Built 10/27/21...Shipped 12/17/21. If the dates hold my wait is 6.5 months! Merry Christmas 🎅🌲🤶
I enjoyed the order process being my first time doing it. I thought it looked like a cool little vehicle. As the time went on I was concerned that I would not fit in very well at 6'7" tall so when I went to pick it up I was prepared to walk away. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. Watched early reviews and most all of them were good. Now I am trying to give others an honest opinion and good advice.
We got our maverick last night… dealer called and said it’s here… we got 4 cylinders echo boost XLT with the luxury package..Carbonized gray… we are getting an after market tonneau cover.. was gonna get a Ford but we saw the after markets look really nice… I am so glad I found this channel… we are ford people also….we traded in our 06 ranger and the dealer was shocked when they saw the low miles and the condition of the truck…we were firsts owners to that ranger as well… thank you for the info about your dislikes…
Great job shutting down haters and know-it-alls! Of your dislikes I think the not automatic passenger window will drive me crazy. I wonder if I can mod that. I will be getting a K&N air filter. Some guy took delivery of both the 2.0 and the hybrid. He commented that the hybrid has a smoother ride. That makes me happy as I'm waiting for my hybrid. Great video.
Great review. This is one vehicle I would consider buying. 5 passenger, lots of storage. Ford has done a good job here. My wife's first car was a Ford Maverick. That will make it easier to talk her into buying one. Our Ford Five Hundred(2006) has been a great car too.
I just bought my wife a bronco sport. Next year I am getting a new pickup ,Ihave always drove 4x4 full sized pickup with frame. I have been following these maverick’s and am intrigued, yes their unibody construction , for nay sayers the Legendary El Camino was as well. As a 60 year old man planning retirement, this would work out wonderfully! Great gas mileage, nice looking, well equipped with the capability to haul when I would need to and yes front or all wheel drive. For all the tricked out big 4x4 in the city which never see muddy trails, the maverick makes more sense, all wheel drive for snow and slick roads and great mileage in a sharp looking package! This may very well be my next truck! Like the color and your mods!
Thanks for the video! I am currently waiting on a Hybrid XLT that I ordered July 1st. You have some great advice in the 2nd half of the video about keeping negative comments to yourself, having patience and waiting for your Maverick, and the use of a K&N filter. I have also used a K&N filter on all of my vehicles, none of which were performance vehicles. They are not that expensive in the first place, and like you mentioned, they are washable/re-usable. It pays for itself and advertises slightly more power and fuel economy that a traditional filter. Why not get one?
Thank you for the thorough review. I ordered a Area 51 hybrid Maverick XLT on July 25 and finally got a build date of the week of February 14 and a VIN. I didn't get the heated seats because I am moving to Arizona in a year but I did get the spray in bedliner, full size spare, and floor trays. I don't really care if the Maverick is a not a performance vehicle because I want an affordable compact pickup with good mpgs. Having had 5 pickups before with 4 being midsized this will be my retirement truck. As for K & N filters the previous 3 trucks I had I put K & N filters on which is a small investment especially for one truck I had for almost 21 years and another for 12 years both which I gave to my nephew in like new condition. I would have liked a 5 foot bed but for the money the Maverick especially in the hybrid form is a bargain and meets 95% of my needs which is all that I could ask for. Keep up the reviews I really appreciate them and the time you take to do them.
Thanks for the review. I haven't seen a single one on the street yet. I'm very interested. I have an SUV right now, but would like to have a pick up again. I just don't want to pay $50k+ to get one. I am looking forward to getting to test drive one of these.
Excellent review. I have 1K miles on my FX4 XLT. Remove the rear headrests & order like I did without the sliding rear window. Great view out the back. If the headrest bothers the driver, pull it out & reinsert it backwards. Still offers whiplash protection with the flat seat back. Why was my engine silent for the 1st 700 miles and now at 1K it sounds a little like a diesel with a rattling/piston slapping sound?
I adore your Maverick.. love the color and the additional mods.. I am one still waiting on a build date from Ford on my XLT Hybrid Maverick.. I knew going in that it will take awhile.. I hope it will be built late Feb or March next year.. staying positive about it.. learning patience is the key.. I ordered my XLT middle of August ,so probably 7 months what I am thinking..
I will add that Ford is targeting the Maverick to the younger urbanites but there are many of us in our 50s and up who are buying the Maverick. We are not the hipsters but we are the ones who want a smaller more affordable pickup. I am retiring from my job of 33 years at the end of this month and will be 70 next February. I am not the target age for the Maverick but it meets almost everything I want in a truck for a more downsize life going from a large home to a 1 story condo. I want an open bed to haul things but I don't need a full size or a midsize truck.
Thanks for giving your thoughts. I’m sad that they switched the XLT Lux package to drop-in bedliner, will have to get spray-in myself since I think water sitting under the drop-in will result in a lot of rust on the bed.
Thank you for All the great content. You've done an amazing job. But you sold me not just on the Maverick, you sold me on your praising The Lord Jesus Christ 🙏
I subscribed after watching the first video. I am picking up my Maverick this month and the 1st change I make is adding the K&N filter. Once you have used their filters you will never go back to a paper filter, just saying... keep up the great content and motor on!
Thanks for the information on the K and N Filters. I'm going to pick one up for our Ford EcoSport with the Turbo Ecoboost. Oh btw, you are correct about the Peppy, very good performance and I'd say that you'll hang with anything else from traffic light to traffic light. Don't assume folks, the little Ford's will RUN! Don't get yourself embarrassed in your hot rod haha,it can happen quick. You take care and your videos of your Maverick experience are appreciated...one of my Sons is about ready to purchase his first new vehicle and he's leaning towards the Maverick LXT Package. Take care
Remember the hood is not padded so that makes a difference,I have the XLT FWD,this trucks are governed at 110 mph🤣,I love how fast this little truck moves when needed, great review and I’m also a daily driver to work 30 miles each way and at 75mph I’m getting 28.4 per gallon!
Waiting on my Lariat ecoboost. Ive read that some owners have been ordering the Escape engine cover, some say it helps with the engine noise others say its just for the finished looks it gives. If I find the engine noise annoying, for under $100. I might give it a try. Like your videos.
Good review, happy for you. I’ve lived with a 2 litre eco boost for 6 years. I’d suggest switching to full synthetic oil to reduce the engine noise. Stay safe.
Great review! The target market is fuel efficient daily drivers who want the luxury of hauling small loads without damaging the interior of their vehicle.
Great 1000 Mile review I love the no BS stance and outlining your reasons, waiting for my own XLT to be built and patiently waiting. Just a thought for you, I heard some people had a bit of success putting the 2.0 Eco boost engine cover on or using sound deadening under the hood for the sound I would not know cause well I am sans maverick still. That 2.0 Eco Boost is no slouch for performance as it is in the Focus ST and I think Ford has that engine dialed in well for the applications it assigns that engine too. Curious to see what people do with them. People look at a 4 cyl and think weak engine with no power but car makers have been using 4 cylinders in performance for a long time. Glad you are liking it and Happy Holiday's.
@@sappyjohnson Absolutely and then Maverick is not for them, and that's okay. I am glad to see the market shifting and bringing vehicles like this to people that dont want a V8 and don't need a bed big enough to haul construction load.
Appreciate your review. I Like when people telling everything AS IS. Not like other youtubers, who will give you 1000 reasons to buy it and 0 negative points.
Like you said don't let the comments bother you because wait until those people see how many units the Maverick sells in 2 years it will be world record it was unbelievable how many of these are gonna sell . It already won the award of best vehicle of the year 2021. I've owned in the last 40 years 9 F150 if this vehicle came out 40 Years ago I would have bought this vehicle That's how amazing this is
I am patiently waiting for my Maverick XLT hybrid to come in. I had the opportunity to test drive the XLT with the Ecoboost and it felt great for such a small and lightweight truck. My future commute will likely be around 500 miles per week minimum, so the hybrid is what I need.
the dealership said 2 years out for the hybrid and only 12 weeks for 2.0l. I still put the order in for the 2.0l. It's going to be very cool following my truck get made.
Nice review. While waiting on my xl hybrid, it is good to have vicarious renderings from those who are on the adventures before us. Thank you sir for sharing which help to keeps our yarning's quenched.
Absolutely loved your video. We picked up my Wife’s Maverick XLT AWD with The Luxury Package, Ford 360 and a Moon Roof in Hot Pepper Red on Dec 23rd, she’s put 60 miles on and loves it;) I liked and subscribed to your channel and look forward to comparing yours and her impressions as we all add miles to the truck (yes I said truck) oh, and when she parks next to my 2018 F-150 STX her Maverick look like my truck had a baby;) Happy New Year too;)
You can order the engine cover from the Bronco Sport Badlands (2.0 engine) and that fits the 2.0 Maverick since it’s the same motor. . That will reduce the engine noise.
Liked your review. You answered some of the questions I have about the Maverick. I don't know if I am ready to but yet as my Explorer is still in great shape with no problems.
Im ordering mine today. I drove an F150 Lariat Sport and decided that a Mav would be much better for someone of my height (5"3). I also needed something that I can throw my military equipment in without getting my interior dirty. The Mav does just that. Thanks for you video
I just ordered mine in velocity blue XLT with the ecoboost and copilot360 package. I’m so excited to take delivery of it when it arrives. Yours looks nice i like the red it pops but the velocity blue was what sold me on my truck.
Great video Sir. Thank you for the calm tone of voice, no music and honesty. I think the gas engine is good enough on mileage that the hybrid isn't really necessary. I don't understand why Ford priced the gas engine higher than the hybrid though, especially since they're having more supply issues with the hybrids?
Thanks for taking time for making this video. I have been watching, as many videos to get as much feedback as possible before committing to a purchase. I could live those dislikes. I was wondering about the visibility out of that back window since it is so small and adding the sliding window and you answered my question. I will leave that feature out. I originally wanted the Hybrid, but I heard they are not making any more for 2022. Leaning toward the AWD version and maybe adding the FX4 package.
I enjoy your videos, thanks for taking the time to give those of us waiting for our mavericks something to watch. I will offer you some advice, you have a lot of keys on your keychain and over time that much weight can cause problems with the ignition switch (it happened to my dad), so you might want to take a few off.
You are correct, I tell my wife that all the time. All my other vehicles don't have keyed ignition switches but the Maverick does. Good eye to notice that and great advice. 👍
My ideal Maverick would be the hybrid model with AWD, so I might hold out a year or two to see if that happens. But what a cool truck, can't wait to have one someday.
I've been a commercial driver for over 27 years. I appreciate your opinion on this kind of performance. People have raised the bar so high because of engine technology. To an older man like myself, this is wonderful performance. Can't wait to experience it for myself. But reviews like this help me trust my expectations.
I have been enjoying your videos. I have a Velocity Blue/Plain Jane/ Steel Wheel/XL Maverick. I did not order my Maverick. I took one that was a “dealer order”. I am pleased that my Maverick was $26, 500. It has random bells and whistles that I had no control of……AWD, manual sliding back window, Ford 360 Awareness, tow hitch receiver. I am flexible. I drive a tractor trailer for a living….that is my “big truck”…..I have nothing to prove when it comes to vehicles. You are correct when you say take the Maverick for what it is. You can’t haul 4x8 sheets of plywood with a Hellcat, can you. Good luck with your vehicle. I look forward to more of your Maverick Journey.
Actually you can haul 4x8 sheets. Put the tail gate straps in the upper position and it raises the tail gate to be level with the fender wells in the bed and the sheets lay level. Good thinking on this one Ford! I would recommend strapping them down, but it’s doable 👍
Ordered confirmed 10/27 so hoping for end of Feb or beginning of March for mine (AWD). Can't wait, have so many plans. Thanks for the insight on your timeline!
Is there any noise damping on the inside of the hood and between the engine and firewall? You could easily lower that noise by adding some which most local detail and mod shops that do tinting can do for cheap or do it yourself.
That noise is the HP fuel pump. DOES sound like a typewriter. We find it is less pronounced in the Maverick than in our 2020 Ford Edge. LOL on the auto start stop. Feel the same way here. We are in the habit to hit the button every time we start the car! Mine came with the sliding rear window. If it ever breaks, I won't be replacing that. Plain window is fine. Thanks for the interesting review!
I have just owned a maverick for two weeks I love it fun to do drive color A51 fwd great truck my wife I showed the lift back seat she said a place for her purse
After test driving a maverick xlt/fx4, we ordered a lariat with the lariat lux pkg, fx4/max tow. And yes, it is Red Hot Pepper. I am getting what I paid for a 2019 ranger lariat fx4 as a trade in, with only 11.5k miles on it. I found the maverick so easy for me to get in, and out of. I have Parkinson's so the ranger was/is, just too difficult for me. So there you have it. BTW, for best volumetric efficiently, yes use a high flow air filter, k&n or proflow etc, and get rid of the STOCK muffler. I did that on my ranger and that was an easy 2.5+ mpg increase, and performance boost. All for less then a 'C' note. On the exhaust, 86 the stock muffler, but LEAVE the stock resonator. Deep flow through sound without breaking the bank !!!
Great info I am a Chevy guy and just love the Maverick I have owned a Ford before didn't have the best experience it was a Windstar. The color is what I would buy nice truck your dislikes are not a deal breaker to me the auto shut down at the stop signs is a pain but I am very use to it with my company car a Equinox. Enjoy your new ride!
I haven't driven a new Maverick (did drive a 74 Maverick coupe " back in the day "), but I currently have a 13 Fusion and an 06 Mustang after coming off a 09 Crown Victoria. I find the auto down/ up feature of power windows occasionally annoying as the window is reluctant to stop part way up. I wonder if the auto up feature is there but is not working correctly? The engine in my Mustang is the 4 liter V6, I wish I could have gotten the newer 3.7 V6. But I do understand the point about engine noise. With a 4 cylinder engine it is difficult not to have that " sewing machine " sound. BTW, while driving down the road the Fusion is very quiet, I wonder if the real cost cutting on the Maverick is in sound deadening.
I love your video's and enjoy seeing what you do to your maverick. Keep up the good work it is a beautiful looking truck and you have made many great improvements to it already. I am planning to do much of the same to mine as well to make it my own. I should be getting my hot pepper red, lariat, FX4, 4 k mid January, I am looking forward to it although it may sit in the garage for the winter. Enjoy the holidays with your family, all the best.
Great Video. Nice job....Maybe when they come out with the Sporty Package, they will come up with a "Grabber" version. That would be a cool idea. Thanks again!
Anxious to hear if the hybrid 2.5 makes the noise of the 2.0 eco. Other then that I think this is a major GO for Ford! How bad is the road noise at highway speeds and seat comfort?
Thanks for the review. I'm waiting on the Maverick Lariat with towing and 4wd. Would you recommend that air filter in this situation? My understanding is that the towing package includes better ventilation. Thanks again!
Thanks for the review. I know I'll be waiting (impatiently, haha!) awhile for my Hybrid XLT (ordered 26 Oct), but one thing I had wondered about was that rear window visibility issue you mentioned. I test drove the only one I could find locally (a fully loaded EB AWD) and it had the power rear window, and I noticed the limitation you mention, so I left off that option on mine. I really liked the ride, and as you mention, the platform is the perfect combination of daily driver with utility when you need it.
If you ordered in 10/26, did you ever receive a build date? I am very curious as to how long this takes. Thanks for any help you can provide, and congrats on the purchase!
@@TheJiggs666 I have not yet received anything beyond the initial order confirmation email from Ford. As I understand it, I should receive an assigned VIN from them 2-4 weeks prior to receiving notification of an actual build date. And the delivery should be approximately 4 weeks after the build date. I fully expect I will not get mine until May at the earliest.
I have a Maverick Lariat and I concur that the 2.0 drive train is a little noisy but with the radio on the noise fades into nothingness. I've only put about 400 miles online These are my likes and dislikes. Likes: 1.Mpg 2. Very good acceleration throughout the auto gearbox. 3. Clever functionality put into so many things. Dislikes: 1. No tray for the console bin storage under the arm rest. 2. I feel the engine stop/start and rear window open/close button are too far down on the dash. 3. I find that the top of the dash is a bit too reflective. On a bright and sunny day when the sun is at the right angle in the sky you get a glare that is annoying.
I just got a 2022 Ranger and love it but I would have been pleased with the Maverick if available. The demand is astronomical. Even without the chip shortage Ford would have had a hard time keeping up.
Good video, man. Dunno why people would rag on it for not being a "real truck". It is what it is. I wouldn't be surprised if on average the Maverick hauls more often than the F150 which I only ever see empty.
Wow! Awesome review! I've been studying the Maverick and some other trucks. The Maverick looks great! I want the FX4 package, Tow Package, and a bed extender. Thanks again. Oh, I drive a 2021 Hyundai Veloster n. I just put in a K&N filter. I want a second vehicle, a small truck.
I had to wait almost 4 months for my new Toyota Tacoma so I feel ya on that wait. Good review! I believe the Maverick will be a big hit for Ford. It is an affordable every day vehicle that can carry a small load when you need it. Impressive performance with great gas mileage.
My 2019 GMC Canyon lease is up in a few months, and I am thinking about going with a Ford Maverick after less than favorable experiences dealing with GMC dealerships and a few big warranty issues on the GMC.
Awesome CS《☆》Nice review🤳I'm a long time Dakota owner. Eventually my Dakota will get some restoModding. I think I'll get me a Maverick hybird. Prolly base model to drive while my Dak is off the road. Ima check out your Mach1 videos👍✔I remember riding in a 70 Mach1 as a youth. Fond memories🖖🤓🙏☮
Very good review... appears to be unbiased... A few questions... What is the turning radius of this? Can you easily do a turnabout on a residential street? Do you have Ford's version of blind spot monitoring? How is the cruise control? I believe this is not available on the base model and one has to buy the mid version. Comments are appreciated.... How are the insurance rates? Also, I make keep my daily driver... Any idea how much it will cost for 2 vehicles (1 new, 1 beater, and I am an old fart....)
have you taken it off road? My old crossover is, uh, old (200k miles/15ish years) and I'm looking to replace it and this on the short list just due to the cost. I go out on some rough former logging tracks and stuff--nothing extreme but nothing I'd take a car on. Ruts, no paving, occasionally a lot of mud, rocks, etc. I carry a chainsaw to cut out downed logs if I need to. I'd planned to go used but the freaking used market is insane right now
I would love a full-sized truck with AWD, but I can't afford to take out a second mortgage to buy one. Finally a truck with a sensible price tag. I would prefer the option to get one with no back seat and a bigger bed, though. I would be hauling stuff with mine, and 4.5 feet seems a little too short.
Not a ford fan but appreciate them doing something that helps people out by making a truck price affordable for someone making under 45k

Thank you for the presentation. It was nice to hear from an owner. I feel much better now about this vehicle.

I totally agree 👍
Thank you for taking the time to post this video.
Thanks for your insights sir. I am considering buying a Maverick myself soon. Just waiting around til those 10k, 20k, 50k mile reports come in.
Thanks for giving your thoughts. I’m sad that they switched the XLT Lux package to drop-in bedliner, will have to get spray-in myself since I think water sitting under the drop-in will result in a lot of rust on the bed.
I heard about that. I'm glad I added that option. I have had the drop in bedliner in trucks before and I agree with you 💯
Thank you for All the great content.
Thank you for video review. I appreciate your honest, straight forward comments.
Thanks
Great information to know thanks 😊
I thought the Bronco sport engine cover was the correct one to order?
Good review, happy for you. I’ve lived with a 2 litre eco boost for 6 years. I’d suggest switching to full synthetic oil to reduce the engine noise. Stay safe.
Great review! The target market is fuel efficient daily drivers who want the luxury of hauling small loads without damaging the interior of their vehicle.
You are absolutely correct. Thank you for your comments!
Enjoyable and informative review, thanks for taking the time to share your experience!
The 2.0 is plenty of engine for the Maverick. I can't imagine needing more. But there will always be someone who says "No V8, no deal".
Hope you get yours soon.
The eco boost actually probably gets better highway mileage. The hybrid shines for city driving
My biggest Maverick dislike: I don't have mine yet. Or even a date to get it.
I disagree... 4 valve per cylinder, dual overhead cam, direct injection, turbocharged engine is a HI PERFORMANCE ENGINE!!!
the dealership said 2 years out for the hybrid and only 12 weeks for 2.0l. I still put the order in for the 2.0l. It's going to be very cool following my truck get made.
Nice review.
While waiting on my xl hybrid, it is good to have vicarious renderings from those who are on the adventures before us.
Thank you sir for sharing which help to keeps our yarning's quenched.
Thanks
Absolutely loved your video. We picked up my Wife’s Maverick XLT AWD with The Luxury Package, Ford 360 and a Moon Roof in Hot Pepper Red on Dec 23rd, she’s put 60 miles on and loves it;) I liked and subscribed to your channel and look forward to comparing yours and her impressions as we all add miles to the truck (yes I said truck) oh, and when she parks next to my 2018 F-150 STX her Maverick look like my truck had a baby;) Happy New Year too;)
Yes! Stop hating and go get one for yourself before you say something crazy! Love it, you help me love my Mavy truck even more!
You can order the engine cover from the Bronco Sport Badlands (2.0 engine) and that fits the 2.0 Maverick since it’s the same motor. . That will reduce the engine noise.
I just might do that thanks!
Great video, very calming voice, nice to listen to you. Thanks
Thanks
I'm not even a truck guy and I want a Maverick. Super excited that something like this is out for us non-truck people
Thanks for sharing your experience with us. This might be our next vehicle.
I just ordered mine in velocity blue XLT with the ecoboost and copilot360 package. I’m so excited to take delivery of it when it arrives. Yours looks nice i like the red it pops but the velocity blue was what sold me on my truck.
That was my second color choice. Tried to get my Mach1 in velocity blue but couldn't turn down the deal on the race Red Mach1.
Agreed
I've driven nothing but Chevys my whole life but I keep thinking about trading my Colorado in for a Maverick the more I watch these great reviews.
Don’t do it fast truck lane is having issues with there already
Thanks for taking time for making this video. I have been watching, as many videos to get as much feedback as possible before committing to a purchase. I could live those dislikes. I was wondering about the visibility out of that back window since it is so small and adding the sliding window and you answered my question. I will leave that feature out. I originally wanted the Hybrid, but I heard they are not making any more for 2022. Leaning toward the AWD version and maybe adding the FX4 package.
Thanks for your support. Hope you get yours soon.
You seem like a chill older guy with some salt since you've been around a while. Lol Good breakdown video of the Maverick I'm glad you like it 👍
You've also made me reconsider k&n filter on my 16' mustang Ecoboost
Same
Same
AWD is overrated. I'd get the base hybrid. Best bargain for a truck ever.
I've been a commercial driver for over 27 years. I appreciate your opinion on this kind of performance. People have raised the bar so high because of engine technology.
To an older man like myself, this is wonderful performance. Can't wait to experience it for myself. But reviews like this help me trust my expectations.
10/10 video. I hope to be this happy with my new vehicle.
Thanks
Surely
Thanks for the review. Very informative and helps us with making a decision to get one or not.
Appreciate the time you take to make videos.
Hey,liked your video and learned a lot.I work at the Kentucky Ford Truck Plant and I have been thinking about buying the Maverick. Thanks again !
I have that same color and model ordered. Love your great videos.
Thank you for your insight. Can't wait to get mine.
I have just owned a maverick for two weeks I love it fun to do drive color A51 fwd great truck my wife I showed the lift back seat she said a place for her purse
Good video and nice looking maverick! In hindsight do you wish you would have bought the lariat? If so why and why not? Thanks!
No I'm pretty satisfied with the one that I got I wouldn't change a thing.
Thanks great information 👍
Great info I am a Chevy guy and just love the Maverick I have owned a Ford before didn't have the best experience it was a Windstar. The color is what I would buy nice truck your dislikes are not a deal breaker to me the auto shut down at the stop signs is a pain but I am very use to it with my company car a Equinox. Enjoy your new ride!
Thanks
I had a 73 Maverick with Bobcat tail lights and A289 small block if you know what a Bobcat is.LOL
Thank you, I learned some stuff about the product from your video that I had not heard before.
Thanks I appreciate your feedback 😊
You could turn the auto high beam off. The auto start stop just leave your defrosters on at any level and it will keep the engine on
I love your video's and enjoy seeing what you do to your maverick.
Thanks so much!
Great Video. Nice job....Maybe when they come out with the Sporty Package, they will come up with a "Grabber" version. That would be a cool idea. Thanks again!
Ha first world problem… you have to hold it to go up. I am the age of sewing machines and roll up windows. Great video Thanks
Is that a factory hard Tonneau cover or after market? Brand??
Gator sfx trifold buy at Realtruck.com under $300.
Anxious to hear if the hybrid 2.5 makes the noise of the 2.0 eco. Other then that I think this is a major GO for Ford! How bad is the road noise at highway speeds and seat comfort?
Very quiet and comfortable
Thanks for the review. I'm waiting on the Maverick Lariat with towing and 4wd. Would you recommend that air filter in this situation? My understanding is that the towing package includes better ventilation. Thanks again!
Yes
I think that color is badass. Looks awesome. 👍
@@almiller7240 I ordered mine too within days of yours and only got the initial email.
love it. I ordered two. one xl in blue. one xlt red like yours. mine are both hybrid though
Thank you for the excellent review. Is this the hybrid or gas option?
Gasoline
I have a Maverick Lariat and I concur that the 2.0 drive train is a little noisy but with the radio on the noise fades into nothingness.
I've only put about 400 miles online
These are my likes and dislikes.
Likes:
1.Mpg
2. Very good acceleration throughout the auto gearbox.
3. Clever functionality put into so many things.
Dislikes:
Got the XLT Luxury package AWD with the Off Road Package, Tow Package, and FORD copilot 360. I can not wait for it to arrive!
That sounds like a great choice of options. Hope you get it soon. Blessings to you!
I just got a 2022 Ranger and love it but I would have been pleased with the Maverick if available. The demand is astronomical. Even without the chip shortage Ford would have had a hard time keeping up.
Cool pickup. I be seen a couple out in the wild and I can really appreciate what Ford is doing. I like it. Glad you put a K&N on it too
Good video, man.
Good choice!
I had to wait almost 4 months for my new Toyota Tacoma so I feel ya on that wait. Good review! I believe the Maverick will be a big hit for Ford. It is an affordable every day vehicle that can carry a small load when you need it. Impressive performance with great gas mileage.
so if your saying companies are making performance parts for the maverick do you think its worth getting the hybrid then?
The Maverick will appeal to both sides. Those who want efficient transportation and others who will want to modify. Pick your favorite choice!🙂
Very helpful feedback. Thank you
Very good review... appears to be unbiased...
Not sure what the radius is but it turns pretty sharply
Nice video and honest review! Can't wait for them to become readily available so I can decide if I want to get the AWD model, or the XLT trim levels.
Why not both? Lol... you can get the XLT with the off-road package OR 4k tow package, either of them will give you AWD
I currently have a 5.4l v8 f150, so I can relate to you on the noise aspect.
Love your videos. Keep'em coming.
have you taken it off road? My old crossover is, uh, old (200k miles/15ish years) and I'm looking to replace it and this on the short list just due to the cost. I go out on some rough former logging tracks and stuff--nothing extreme but nothing I'd take a car on. Ruts, no paving, occasionally a lot of mud, rocks, etc. I carry a chainsaw to cut out downed logs if I need to. I'd planned to go used but the freaking used market is insane right now
I do not take mine off road much at all.. I have seen other videos where they have. It seems to do OK .
Congratulations! All the best of luck
Excellent review informative and I think I want one too,
Thanks for the info and honest opinions.
