Much respect & appreciation from 'Down Under' for the video!! Although (IMO - I have Tesh's TDF soundtrack CD's & still play them when riding upon the trainer) not the best tracks of Tesh's used for the TDF coverage from the 80s, some awesome photos & it still brings back happy memories of 4 straight weekends spent in the 80s (from '85 - '88) each July, watching Wide World of Sports with the video recorder in front of me, ready to TAPE each TDF section played over 5 hours during our winter!! Then, when it all ended at 5pm, I just wanted to go out & ride but it was already too dark & miserable outside to do so!! Some of Yanni's music used (I also own his CDs, BTW) is also awesome…I found (& still do, in fact) some of that "cheesy" (to some others, at least) synth' music so inspirational & it suited the scenes so well, particularly with Phil Liggett's "voice of cycling" accompanying said music…oh, how I long for those days…!!
Before reading the lengthy description my first thought was this music is just like the NFL films music, only with a 80s European pop sensibility. It's an apt description. Fun stuff. Good for driving.
TdF needs to bring this music back. These were good days. This music added so much emotion to three weeks of watching bike racing.
