Part of K-pop's charm is that we do get a lot of access into idols' lives, for better or worse. Of course an awful lot of it will be stage-managed and designed to generate more fan engagement (and therefore more cash), but the dark side of that is that it goes from partnership to ownership for some people. But life's too short to do anything but like the music you like, be it from a big or small artist, support your idols but don't put them on a pedestal, and wish them the best, be that in relationships, in artistic direction, or even if they just don't want to be idols anymore. I sometimes wonder if Dreamcatcher's B-side Propose, given the timing of the album around their contract renewal, is not actually about an obsessive relationship at all. I wonder if it's actually about the dark side of being an idol - "I can't let go, I'll cast a spell, our love's a curse but I can't get enough...I'll show you more...I get what I want but I can't get enough...With every touch I feel the burn...Oh what can I do without you?" - That could absolutely sum up the double-edged sword of being an idol, the thrill of being *that* loved, essentially having an army at your disposal who'll run to your defence with a single social media post, but coupled with the feeling that you always have to give the fans something more, and that you can never quite escape that life and "be normal" once you're too deep into it.
I've seen the whole veteran stans attack newbie it makes me seriously uncomfortable like does it matter you stanned blackpink since debut or know more about them then someone newbie stan

I hate it so much when fans come up with stuff that idols did like 10 years ago or something. When the idol didn`t apologize and still is doing the same thing, okay, but they apologized and never did it again, get over it. People make mistakes, no one is perfect and let`s be real, it`s normal to do stuff you regret later in your life. This is growing up. Making mistakes and learning from them :) To the making new fans feel uncomfortable point: I really love it when people ask me something about KPop or they start to like one of the groups I also like :) One of my friends told me last month that she watched some performances of Stray Kids because she was curious about them because i like them so much. Since that day, I`m ready to make her a Stay :) She wouldn`t be the first friend I kinda turn into a kpop liking person :) One other close friend of mine is an Army since we visited Greece together or another friend likes Dreamcatcher or even my ex boyfriend likes Dreamcatcher now. So i personally really like it when people enjoy KPop and they ask me stuff about it :) I really can`t understand why some fans aren`t supportive and welcoming to new fans. Like you said in the video, it doesn`t make any sense because you want your group to gain more fans. So why should you not welcome those new fans then?
those fans who like purchase thousands of albums to win multiple fan calls.. its js so creepy when you see the same person with like 10 fancalls for the same idol. i forgot which idol it was but when the person on fancall asked if he remembered her he said he saw her yesterday and the day before that.

With your "only old armys will understand" or "I've been with them from the start you can't understand" or "this is only for the old armys" I had the chance to have a strong character so those stupid comments didn't affect me when i just joined. But I've seen COUNTLESS Fans turning away from BTS because they feel excluded since they are younger.
number 2 really made me think of super junior.. super junior has a HORIBLE reputation amongst kpop stans and they continue to hate and hate on all the members and want the group to disband despite the fact that most of the scandals are a decade old and the artist has apologised and showed growth.(ofc this doesn't let all the members off the hook because there's some who are still not learning from their mistakes)
Bruh what most of their scandals they’ve apologized for or are literally blown out of proportion and kpop fans would rather bitch at them cuz they can’t handle their favs are the same way probably😂 heechul dragged a radical feminist group who attacked hara and sulli but god forbid women getting dragged rightfully so now cuz they’re such victims when they bullied his friends. And siwon used a meme from if titanic was made in 2022 which poked fun at society like South Park or family guy and at least people watching them can take jokes cuz Ik those same people bitching at him watch those shows. And their favs love suju but they’re too scared to admit that😂
I agree with all of these, particularly number 2! Nothing gives me the red flag ick more than people who STILL shit on Shindong from Super Junior. Number 2: Thank you! I saw when a news channel mentioned Leo from Trainee A getting into a company and debuting (good for him, Trainee A was mistreated like shit), and immediately when looking at the comments someone stuck their finger out and said “is that the problematic one?”… bruh if he apologised for a small issue then he’s not problematic at all.

But newbie Stan’s drag older groups saying they’re irrelevant when they’re the reason your favs are here 😂
@@brennathecatlover4360it doesn't make that behavior right tho
I have a friend who likes Stray kids and she HATES every other group- I love Stray Kids too (My favourite group), but like she doesn't have bash every other group. As a multi-stan I obviously don't agree with her and I have no idea what to say
omg that's so crazy! like I understand loving one group more than everybody else but I dont know how people can them translate that to hating everybody else 🙈
4th one happened with fifty fifty. Before cupid became viral when fifty fifty were underrated people would always say that their music is so good and they need more recognition however after cupid became a hit everyone started hating them saying that their music is boring and they became successful just by tiktok.
Well what they were saying wasn’t wrong. The music is boring and they did become famous because of TikTok but should that welcome hate? No! Why are we denying facts.
@@coffeebean4356 What I meant was that people were saying that fifty fifty need to be popular but when they became popular people started saying that Fifty fifty dont deserve the popularity
When it got to nr 5 I just whispered to myself **armys..**
There are other kpop fans who do it and there are many armys who aren't like that I just feel like they're the most annoying when it comes to bringing them up literally everywhere when it doesn't matter, lol
Not only army blinks too those two fandom are everywhere on social especially on twitter army and blinks dragging bts and blackpink in every comments section on twitter even the post are not about them but other artist from western industry and other kpop groups and then they started fighting each other
I hate it so much when fans come up with stuff that idols did like 10 years ago or something. When the idol didn`t apologize and still is doing the same thing, okay, but they apologized and never did it again, get over it. People make mistakes, no one is perfect and let`s be real, it`s normal to do stuff you regret later in your life. This is growing up. Making mistakes and learning from them :)
To the making new fans feel uncomfortable point: I really love it when people ask me something about KPop or they start to like one of the groups I also like :) One of my friends told me last month that she watched some performances of Stray Kids because she was curious about them because i like them so much. So why should you not welcome those new fans then?
thank you for supporting our Dongwoonie 💜 he is the sweetest and deserves every happiness 💜 new subscriber here 👋
those fans who like purchase thousands of albums to win multiple fan calls.. its js so creepy when you see the same person with like 10 fancalls for the same idol. i forgot which idol it was but when the person on fancall asked if he remembered her he said he saw her yesterday and the day before that.
Can you post the link to the Reddit page. Loved this topic. Keep the vids coming!!❤❤
Number 3
Is perfect for ARMYS. Y'all make the younger Armys feel uncomfy.
With your "only old armys will understand" or "I've been with them from the start you can't understand" or "this is only for the old armys"
I had the chance to have a strong character so those stupid comments didn't affect me when i just joined.
And their favs love suju but they’re too scared to admit that😂
I avoid all communities bout anything I like I’m here for the artist not a community.
idk why but when see boynextdoor in the video makes me happy :D
omg thank you im so glad, I've been really liking them 🥺
I agree with all of these, particularly number 2! Nothing gives me the red flag ick more than people who STILL shit on Shindong from Super Junior. Like yes, what he said was bad, but it was 10 years ago, and hes tried to make amends since. Why do people think its fine to use him as a punching bag? (I know why, its because he's fat!)
10 years is a long time! I said some absolutely WILD shit 10 years ago, but thats how we learn and grow as people! It makes me so so so mad.
Also lmao the "ask me about my kpop boy" picture of Dino SVT, if that aint me.
Holding grudges annoys me for example anti's(i will call them that cause they are)still Hold RM down over something he said/did 8 years ago and he has since apologised and never repeated it,but their Favs continue do the same thing over and over(CA) and don't apologise and somehow its RM fault cause he said and did this in 2014....hold your Favs accountable please before coming at RM
I don’t think he directly apologized tho I think he said he made mistakes? Which isn’t being clear on what u did wrong but I think he did apologize for maybe a couple things. And the other members to my knowledge have never apologized for stuff they’ve done wrong
@@brennathecatlover4360 Rm actually did apologise for a lot and then when people said War of Hormone was sexist and disgusting all 3 rappers/writers did apologise for how the song, but dear lord when another idol groups constantly does CA and NEVER apologises the groups fandom then goes BUT Namjoon did.....like hold your favorites accountable with out dragging others!!!!
\
RM didn't apologize
@@Angelictigerjin bts has a lot of scandals, they haven’t apologized for most of their ca. rm apologized for saying west side til I die, and said he regretted his hair in the past, the company apologized for having a photo shoot on a holocaust memorial, and for the Jim jones sample. But there’s so much more that hasn’t been addressed. You can /think/ that bts has learned and grown, but you can’t /claim/ that they have. You don’t know their real stances on heavier issues. You can’t claim any stranger has grown from a mistake because you don’t know them. Armies constantly spread misinformation on what bts has addressed and generalized everything they’ve done under an “apology”, it’s honestly a set up against rm and bts. Even if you choose to forgive them, not everyone has to forgive and forget. Bts past of ignorance while building a identity based on black culture can still be unpacked, considering the same ignorance still happens in kpop
for me its certain girl group stans who are straight up misandrists and act like its not a big deal.
