@@samarianosans I pre-ordered it a couple of weeks before the projected release date. At some point I saw a FP post that they had a large number of them available for sale in the NY store, so I made a comment that the pre-orders should be fulfilled first. The next day, the posted a story saying if you have a pre order comment with your order number and they would do what they could. I got a shipping notification a couple of days later. I pre ordered it because my R2 PRO II hot shoe self destructed and I sent it back to FP for warranty replacement. Taking a chance on the Nano was the best decision. The more I use it the more I love it. My newly replaced R2 PRO II has become my backup.
I can’t wait to get this. The battery being built in does not bother me and I actually prefer it this way. I’ve had the previous triggers that require 2 AA batteries. On one of my triggers I left the batteries in there for too long due to inactivity and it leaked and actually ruined the trigger and I had to toss it. That was obviously my fault but had I had this instead, it wouldn’t have happened.
ok, first question. With the old trigger that I have, you can use it as long as it will work the only thing you have to do is put the new battery inside or use rechargeable batteries, but what about this one? Yes, it is nice to charge via USB C, but what about the battery life? How much lifetime does it have? Can you replace it when the battery degrades over time, or it is not replaceable, and you have to buy a new trigger even if your trigger is technically in ideal condition?
Pretty much you need to buy a new one , no user battery replacement option . I will not worry about how long the battery will last because the technology is pretty good now and it should work for few good years . You also need a back up transmitter all the time and the old transmitter will be handy. I still have the first gen Godox triggers and still work hopefully the new one will work the same Spending money will never end ….
Not a game changer, but it's nice to finally have a much smaller trigger. Does the FP Nano-C come with firmware 1.12? My Nikon X3 has 1.0 and Canon X3 has 1.12. Just curious. Godox also states we'll get Legacy Hotshoe in a future update!
Mine says 1.10. I also checked the website and they didnt posted any updates for the triggers or at least i could not find them. Now yours being 1.12 and mine 1.10 its a game changer, lol. Cheers!
Hi , thank uou I am using Bridge /photoshop and Capture 1 and i can see the metadata on both . You should be able to see it in LR too. I will check it out and get back later today. Cheers!
Thanks for the reply. In my LR it only says if it fired, but not actual flash settings. Would be great if there was a way to see that. @@tonyroscaphotography
Ohhh, sorry I misunderstood your question. The power setting on the flash i cant see them either. I take notes most of the time and i create light recipes to quickly set up a session when need it without spending any time . Sometimes i have less then 2 min to set up a shoot and i keep my flashes preset on different power settings depending on the modifier i have with me . I will check if the data transfer if i use the Canon flash with my Canon system, hmm , never look for that. I will let you know and sorry for the misunderstanding . Cheers
Ebay, I think i payed 100$ . Its heavy and it cost few buck on shipment . i gut it out and i use it with a battery LED inside , i dont want more wires around Thank you !
Almost perfect. IMHO the battery still needs to be user replaceable because there’s nothing worse than tech that can no longer be used due to non-replaceable batteries.
For 89$ you can buy another one. Because of the small size of the transmitter they had to use a proprietary battery . Profoto did the same with the Connect trigger and its 200$ and doesnt have half of the Nano features . I dont get any endorsements from Godox and i use my own money to buy it, i just want to make sure you know i am not biased . Have a great day and thank you for stopping by!
Usually HSS its a different topic but I understand your point . I will do soon a tutorial about it . I am not a big fan of HSS because you can not take a meter reading and it is based on the algoritm of your system . The ND filters are better because you can have control on flash output. But your comment is noted and thank you for bring it up !
It is not replaceable. Hopefully it will last few years . So far it holds the charge pretty good and it last for a full day of shooting with lots of power left.
@@tonyroscaphotography I mean. How much more room does the XPro take up lol I’ll keep trying to get used to the new one don’t get me wrong but when you’re in a shoot trying to find the right light power quick especially in the sun, the small controls get intense haha
@@JerryC25 i hear you, i just did today a shoot on the beach, blazing sun out there and for God sake i had to pull the shirt over my camera to see the controls . I always carry 2-3 remotes with me because I start getting paranoic after i had 2 Profoto Connect Pro fail on me last year during a very important client shoot.
Yes. I was testing it with the v860iii and made sure that the setting was set to speed light. Haven’t tried it with my ad200 yet but noticed that the v860iii is overexposing by a stop
@davidhead5751 its kinda normal to have some exposure variation , at least if its consistent you can dial in the 1stop and you good to go. I use the ttl only ti establish my exposure and compensate afterwards. Also the metering you use in the camera can throw the exposure of the flash off and the ambient light too. Personally i dont think there is an accurate TTL system . You can use a gray card to fill the frame and see if is still overexposed by flash , and will give you the right amount you need to compensate for medium gray . Let me know how it goes please
I was only testing on things around my house. I haven’t tried it yet in real world shooting. I have a shoot coming up and I’ll see how it goes. I just think it’s strange that the original xpro doesn’t have the same issue, testing the same test subject. But yeah you’re right I too use ttl to get a base exposure and adjust when needed because as you mentioned ttl systems are always slightly off.

It’s scary how good the FP Nano is. So simple and easy to use.
And its super affordable in price . I really enjoy using it ! Cheers!
How do you get it so quick man ? I ordered from Adorama the very first day of preorder opens and still no processed order 😢

Can you put this in App mode to do meter readings
Your video helped me decide on the X3 (new name). Really cool and I like the ease of use. Thank you!
Glad I could help!!

I hand held the trigger when I take meter readings and just press the flash button..I do not have the godox module for sekonic
