The sprinkels are for on the bread... hagelslag and vlokken are supposed to go on a slice of bread with a little butter on it so they stick to the bread.
The translation of the text "kijk niet te vaak over je shouder, wees trots, kijk vooruit en word geen dag ouder". "Do not look too much back over your shoulder, be proud, look forward and you will not age". If memory serves, though its been a while, its from a poem or a popular fairytale or book. Its basically not to look to the past too much, be proud what you have accomplished and where you are are currently and keep walking forward because age is just a number.
Seeing those chocolate sprinkles brings back memories of childhood. My grandma was from Holland. She bought the sprinkles from a Dutch store here in Utah and put them on buttered bread. (That’s what they are for.)So good!
I was so happy to see the soaps and shampoo in the bathroom! I designed those around 1,5 years ago and I have actually never seen them finished in the room. So cool I got to see it through your video. I was hoping you would point them out, but that's okay haha. I illustrated the little forest print myself, made sure the blue colour matches the room and added some Efteling icons, as well as arranged for this shiny pearl finish to give it a little sparkle. There's a whole line of products in this you can find exclusively in the Efteling giftshops. :)
Oh no, did you not meet the pooping donkey in the fairy tale forest? A missed chance! The small microwave room you were in, was likely the feeding room for moms with babies😅
Translation lyrics mirror: Don't look to often over your shoulder, Be proud, look ahead and don't become a day older. Love your vlog and adictive positive attitude. After seeing you done so many Disney vlogs....I never expected to find you in The Efteling ( my home park). I will go to Europa Park on the 11th of june....maybe I will see you there. Have fun and thanx for your positive shine ;)
My husband and I stayed there after the opening from the pandemic. It is incredibly themed and the staff love you there. We enjoyed 2 full days at the park. I am glad to see you doing it. I find this park has one incredible thing it shares with Magic Kingdom Paris. Stories. Also there is a museum on property and it tells the story of Walt Disney visiting Efteling looking for inspiration to the Disney Land.
He actually went there to oversee the creation of the localization studio for Disney movies; this business meeting with the folks who would be running the studio was at the Efteling; and then he got inspired by the visit. We don't know how much; we don't know whether he was already thinking about doing it and the Efteling helped crystalize it, or he was basically already done and the Efteling helped with refining the idea, or he had no idea about the theme park at all, until he saw the Efteling; all that is sure that some part of the original Disneyland was inspired by the Efteling.
If you like nature, then next time go to one of the two Efteling resorts. 'Bosrijk' or 'Loonsche Land', there you can even sleep in a little treehouse.
Efteling is created for families to bond together. You play and experience emotions. Thats what the creator once said and it still is true today. You laugh and cry and get scared and do it all together. And all of this is also what they kept in mind when creating the hotel. I hope the new one is also this good (but a bit more modern).
So excited for this video! 🎉 Just booked a month ago to stay at Efteling (from Canada) in a few months! Been watching a few videos in prep - but to have you creating content I can watch before going - 🥰 Thanks for being you and doing your thing! (Only discount I could find was for early booking to stay on site. It is costing my family 35 euros more to stay on site and 2 park days than it would cost for me to have bought 2 days worth of passes for my family of 4)
Fristi originally dates back from the fifties and (re)gained new popularity in the early nineties if I'm not mistaken. So funny you took a liking to it 😂 it's a typical kid's yoghurtdrink in my opinion. Proves how you keep staying young at heart, I guess ❤ loved this video!!
I appreciate the message at the end. It’s not just positive, but something I could use. I suffer from long term covid, and now have begun slowly working more hours, and have some plans that will cost a lot of energy. It’s so easy to doubt myself right now, so hearing those positive reinforcements really hit home. Thank you. :)
29:17 I can see why they call it the "Floating Hotel". The glass panels at the base of the hotel reflects the color of the sky and makes the base almost disappear.
It was fun seeing this, I'm Dutch and whilst having been to the Efteling plenty of times, I've never been at the hotel, so it was nice getting a glimpse of that
Watching Chris and family is definitely a joy filled experience. I grew up loving Disney and Disneyland since the early 1950s. WDW was a vacation destination through the years for our family too. Now I watch Disney+ for the memories and new content. All things Disney have been a part of my life for most of my life as I’m turning 76 this July. The fact that we can enjoy so many things related to Disney is something to give thanks for on these technology days. Love the new serendipity trips and video visits. Wishing the best for Chris and family.
On the topic of saving money: Avoid school vacations. So July/August for sure, but also all the random weeks during the year that schoolkids have a week off. First, it'll be VERY busy during those weeks anyway and second, the rates will sky rocket during those times. We go on a random Tuesday in Oktober or something like that to avoid the crowds. It's fantastic.
You can put the sprinkles on a pancake but are intended for bread 😁 Get a slice of bread, put butter on it and sprinkle the hagelslag! Really common for breakfast (or lunch)
9:00 - At the beginning of the story, it reads that the "sultan had grown sick of all his wealth..." Perhaps he's no longer sick of his wealth and is cured? I don't know, just a thought. :)

Good night CHRIS. Good night Amanda. Good night, Myles. I’m glad you’re having a wonderful time. And of course thanks for all the positive messages. Can hardly wait for tomorrow. 😁
Sooo happy to have room tests back 🤣 the toilet one today had me howling 🤣 you can't please everyone, so please just keep being you! Absolutely loving every second of your precious family trip, thanks for taking us all along ❤
If it’s Chris that you’re referring to, I think he maybe is nearsighted? Before I had Lasik surgery, I used to do the same thing. I couldn’t read with my glasses on. I would have to take my glasses off to read. Im the opposite now lol. I don’t need glasses other than to read small letters.
With the modernization the bar is said to be removed. Such a pity. The entrance will be moved as well. Not sure about “the modern look”. Lacks a bit of warmth for my taste.
De Efteling that is dutch Disneyland😊. i went there every year in grammar school trips. It was like the highlight of the school year and after the schooltrip. We get summer vacation. Also you met other school kids there from other provinces. We went with busses a whole day long. That was in the 1970's 😅
You know, I've been coming to the Efteling since birth and went there many many MAAAANY times in my 32 years of life but I've never been to the Efteling hotel (Because I literally live 30 minutes away.) so this is quite interesting for me lol ps: Those little red shoes in the closet are actually the dancing shoes from the fairytale "The red shoes". also the translation for the text you see in the mirror is; "Don't look too much over your shoulder, be proud, look forward and don't get any older". Also; the pooping donkey is pooping coins.
Thanks for your fun reviews of Efteling. I am a new follower of your channel and lived in the Netherlands several years ago, but never got the chance to go to Efteling. I lived in the city of Breda which isn’t far from where you are. Breda is famous for being the home to Mentos candies. You could always tell by the smell in the air which flavor they were making in the factory that day. The Netherlands is a wonderful country and the Dutch people are some of the kindest, most generous in the world. I’m glad you’re getting to experience that first hand.
I so agree with the couch therapy sessions....love, love, loved them! This therapy session was good too. And on this one when you slammed your head into the pillow...I said out loud "that's what I do"! Gotta laugh.
I so look forward to your videos each day. I love being on this adventure w you and your family. You and your family are special and caring to share with us. Thank you! ❤
Great video! ❤ I'm just laughing a bit about the comments giving you the translation for what was written on the wall in the bathroom. The ones I have read all used the Dutch order of words and or literal translations of the words. A more fluent English translation would be: "Don't look over your shoulder too much, be proud, look ahead and you won't age a day."
" de Gelagkamer" is basically the "taproom/cafe/bar room". its older Dutch and stems from the 1200s when you had inn's everywhere ( best way to describe is the "prancing pony" from Tolkiens books, part of the inn where you can eat, drink, sit and talk. Yes all countries have a "green initiative" where you cant put up concrete or do whatever you want" on your property. Usually local or regional gov decides that though national gov also has a say. then there is Cultural Heritage. Now i normally dont do this but i have a fair amount of properties (85% come from inheritance on grandfathers side and the pre inheritance phase.. not going into it). If you have "cultural significant" houses or properties, hell it can only be special oaks or birch trees ( on one of my properties i have 5 old oaks ranging from 350-750 years old. They are protected by forestry and the mansion that is also on said property, over 400 years old, is in the Cultural heritage of protected sites catalogue. Its run by an aunt, uncle and nephew of mine who run it as a B&B). If your property is listed on Cultural heritage there are some things you absolutely CANT do. 1 ) tear down the building 2) put modern features on it in such a way the culture is lost ( aka you cant do any modern works outside on the face of the property) 3) any remodel inside has to adhere to the rigorous tests and rules of the Cultural Heritage. Cultural heritage can be extremely difficult or extremely lax. Some places in the UK, they are very lax and allow modern attachments to say a live in tower ( were towers to protect trade routes and or significant locations against bandits). So far the ones i had to deal with, personally or helping out friends have been the reasonable ones which means if you can show them digitally ( with aprox drawings based on historical data and source materials ) they will be extremely open and favorable. Locals then can also have a say, which is why i inform the locals what i am doing and for information i usually say " hello, i just bought that property but documents can only say so much, do you have the time to tell me a bit about it and if not can you please refer me to someone who can? you would be surprised what kind of information you get. but i am digressing. I know the US doesnt have anything like that or at least not as developed as here in Europe.
What a cute hotel I could tell it was a floating castle. Wonderful video as always ❤️. Don’t listen to the trolls the flush test was awesome!! Amanda you need to keep coming up with ideas my husband and I love watching provost park videos everyday there awesome as all of you are. Thank you guys ❤
7:10 Don't look too often over your shoulder Be proud, look forward And don't get a day older ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- (sidenote: look forward is both look ahead and look to the front, just like the double meaning "kijk vooruit" in Dutch)
When you come back, I recommend staying at one of the other resorts, Bosrijk or Loonsche land or in the Grans hotel they currently building. Bosrijk is beautifully set in a forrest area and it really extends the magic of the park. Loonsche land is set in an area with sand dunes, and is also beautiful, the grand hotel will be at the main entrance and will open on 2025.
7:07 kijk niet te vaak over je schouder wees trots kijk vooruit en wordt geen dag ouder. Ik ben niet goed in vertalen maar waarschijnlijk werkt dit wel.
You just stayed at Disney resorts but I like how you’re enjoying this resort for itself and not really comparing it to Disney. It looks like a beautiful park and hotel.
We were lucky enough to run into Chris at grand Californian in 2021 and in line at pirates in 2019 We were thrilled and he was so genuinely nice. Because of you we’re planning Paris and Tokyo thank you so much
This is what it says in the mirror in the bathroom: Don't look over your shoulder too often. Be proud, look ahead and doesn't age a day. Efteling often uses (old Dutch) texts. Sometimes quite funny and you can find it all over the park.
A real test for the potty is too put what Goes into the potty and see if IT goes down. (Something we've had to worry about in previous places we've lived.
‘If you drop something in there and need to get rid of it fast.” My favorite comment. I’m in Amsterdam at the moment. No time for theme parks on this trip. I’m coming back with my family in a few weeks to go to the Disneyland Paris. We cut our trip short and removed Efteling from our plans. Your videos are making me regret that choice. We’re going to come back soon just to Holland and visit Efteling and Wallabi, and maybe the crazy pancake restaurant at a place called Hansel and Gretels.
It's always the small things that blow your mind. How you seem to be amazed by our toilets or the high pressured shower. On the other hand I'm always surprised how low pressured a lot of the water sources in the US are. Almost every hotel I stayed in 😅
I would like to add a little rhyme to the text you see in the mirror. In Dutch it says: “Kijk niet te vaak over je schouder. Wees trots, kijk vooruit en wordt geen dag ouder.” With rhyme it translates to: “Don’t look too much over your shoulder. Be proud, look ahead and don’t grow a day older.”
FYI: the hotel is going to be closed for a few months soon (1-6-25 - 4-17-25 / 6-1-25 - 17-4-25 depending on your preferred date notation) the whole ground floor is getting restructured, the entrance is going to be moved to face the park (South-West corner of the building) so keep in mind during this time you need to book at the resort as this hotel will be unavailable
The sprinkles, but also the meat and cheese slices, are ment to put on bread or your coissant. You don't just grab a lot and put it onto your plate to eat. 😂
Hahaha that "quiet room" with the chair and the microwave is meant for mothers breastfeeding their babies, Chris 😅
I'm dead 😂
Now it can be used by guys to do shoutouds too 😂
Those boxes of sprinkels aren't just for on your pancakes, we put them om our bread too.😂
The sprinkels are for on the bread... hagelslag and vlokken are supposed to go on a slice of bread with a little butter on it so they stick to the bread.

correctemundo
But to make it more rime it will be,
Do not look too much back over your shoulder, be proud, look forward and will be not older
It also say bring also the child inside yourself
...look ahead and don't grow a day older. 😉To me this means that looking back and worrying about the past ages you. So don't. 😁
Seeing those chocolate sprinkles brings back memories of childhood. My grandma was from Holland. She bought the sprinkles from a Dutch store here in Utah and put them on buttered bread. (That’s what they are for.)So good!
Would you like me to send me you some? They’re called Hagelslag and it’s a National pride. My family was actually liberated by 4 guys from Utah.

Chris, The sultan was cured of greed as he learned that sharing results in beauty.

The sprinkles are also great in yogurt

The sprinkels are meant to be eaten on bread as a breakfast thing kids... but it works for pancakes too tho XD
Ya'll are doing great videos!!! I love the room test!! Even the toilet flush!! 😆. Thank you for sharing your life!!!
7:07 kijk niet te vaak over je schouder wees trots kijk vooruit en wordt geen dag ouder.
Ik ben niet goed in vertalen maar waarschijnlijk werkt dit wel.
Ordinary Adventures always do a flush test I’m sure that’s where it came from. I can’t believe people got upset by that.
you need to see Bartbaan video's you can also look on theme rooms inside that hotel. it is really lovely to watch
Because of you we’re planning Paris and Tokyo thank you so much
This is what it says in the mirror in the bathroom:
Don't look over your shoulder too often.
Be proud, look ahead
and doesn't age a day.
Efteling often uses (old Dutch) texts. Sometimes quite funny and you can find it all over the park.
A real test for the potty is too put what Goes into the potty and see if IT goes down. (Something we've had to worry about in previous places we've lived.
What a nice mini-hotel.
Really hope to make it here one day! Thank you for these awesome vids! ❤❤ I love the whole "floating castle" look.
You guys are the best of the best. I look forward to your videos , they are one of my favorite parts of my days. ❤
If you book in the first two weeks of januari you get a discount for a room in the hotel. And the mouse and red shoes are part of the board game
It's always the small things that blow your mind. How you seem to be amazed by our toilets or the high pressured shower. On the other hand I'm always surprised how low pressured a lot of the water sources in the US are. Almost every hotel I stayed in 😅
🥳Fun!!! I love these videos. Thank you. It brings a smile to my life right now. 🎉
I was so happy to see another episode of “trundle bed therapy sessions” 😂.
I just went there last month. I wasn’t impressed with the hotel room (had lots of issues) but I was super impressed with the rides.
The rooms are theamed
You have different teams in other rooms 🤗
My husband has the very same tie!!! Amazing!
Thanks for sharing your adventures! Enjoying your vacation.
I like the toilet tests, they make me laugh 😂 what a cool looking place, thanks for this video!
The sprinkles, but also the meat and cheese slices, are ment to put on bread or your coissant.
You don't just grab a lot and put it onto your plate to eat. 😂
The writing on the wall says, “I want to take a minute to talk to you…and yes I’m talking to you.” ❤
🤣😍
Wow. Thanks
😂😂😂😂😂
You’ve been such a great tour guide
The rooms are great but have a spice price not so cheap if you ask me
What an awesome park/resort!
