this recording is based on two different shows they filmed the dvd that way so it would be easier or something but its 2 different shows
@@Suunder They do that so they can take the best footage from each show. The band is "supposed" to wear the same thing both nights for continuity, but I guess Sammy missed the memo. 🤣

I got sick of rewinding it on the CD player in my car to listen to without listening to the whole song again so just used wavelab to cut the rest of the song out and just burned the last 2 minutes 5 times to a cd so I could just listen to that solo, it's fucking awesome, like so much Eddie stuff! :-)

Yeah the DVD performance recordings always kick ass with Van Halen. Live without a net in New Haven, CT is the best live show, but its from 86. Many of the Van Hagar era songs aren't there. Its mainly Sammy singing David Lee Roth covers.
I watch these old live Van Halen videos every night, and they never get old!
Michael Anthony's bass sound is just so BIG! I could say a million other positive things about everything involved in this but that's the thought I'm sharing today.
I had another guitar playing friend who never really listened to Van Halen. This song blew him away and said holy crap, Sammy can sing.

That's what it looked/sounded like.
It doesn't matter to me. I was at the show a week later. I can tell you it was exactly like the video!!!! The probably had some editing issues so needed some fillers. Great memory. Best concert I have to see, and I've seen a LOT of concerts.
I was at BOTH of these shows with my brother! Best thing that EVER happened to the Selland Arena back then!! "Right Here, Right Now" was filmed at BOTH shows!! I WAS THERE FOR BOTH!

They both had their thing. I appreciate both eras. Sammy's a pro, and because he can handle a guitar well in his own right, it allowed EVH to do other things - like play keys on the songs that required it. Right now, Sammy's a much better singer too. DLR's voice is shot. Sammy, can still belt it out at 69.

You hear him play that on the studio track too. It's one of the acoustic tracks he played, a lot of musicians usually play out the notes with a guitar or piano to hear how the vocals should be sung to the music.

Back when the band had an actual vocal talent in Sammy Hagar and Mike Anthony. Van Halen today, without Sam or Mike......save your money. There is nothing but disappointment in how the band sounds today. Van Halen touring with Dave again but without Mike and ruining memories one city at a time.
