Djokovic was strongly challenged by earlier Federer (prime Federer?) but Nadal was always his real rival... Federer was a greater ambassador of tennis with his style, but I think Nadal has been the stronger player overall...
It's really not fair for Federer. He had 1 main rival - NADAL. He did everything he could to crack the code, even changing to a larger racket and improving his backhand. 2017 was evidence that Federer had indeed figured Nadal out. Djokovic was a monkey wrench in all of this. Federer must have been like, "Who is this guy??? I don't need another GOAT to contend with. Are you kidding me!?"
Federer didn’t really decline until 2016; until then he was always very consistent in making deep runs at grand slams and mostly lost to other GS champions. It was much harder for Federer to win slams after 30 than it has been for Djokovic because 2011-15 provided the highest level of competition men’s tennis has ever seen. I’m putting Federer above Nadal because he has been far more consistent; Nadal has lost to lesser players (players who have achieved much much less in their careers) much more frequently, even when he was in his prime. From 2003-2016, Federer had only one very bad season (2013) when he only made it to one grand slam SF and crashed after that. Nadal has had quite a few: 2009, 2012 (second half), 2014 (second half), 2015-16. And for Novak it’s even better: from 2011-now he has had only 1 and a half very bad seasons (2017-18).
Are we talking about 2003-2009 federer or 2009 on federer? 2003-2009 federer was the best player of all time. He played at the highest level of anyone in any era including djokovic. When the courts were fast like they were then, nobody could beat him. Once the courts slowed down it favored more defensive players like nadal and djokovic. That is why you see most of federers majors were during that 2003-2009 stretch.

See how the reporter questions the big 3 and brought the new gen as biggest rival. Big 3 are retiring and will be retired as age. Not necessarily because because the new gen are better. The quality of tennis will go down after the big 3.
The sport of tennis has evolved into an international sport, thanks to the rivalry of the Big Three, and it is rooted in a long historical tradition that has yet to be identified with the Byzantine Empire where the royalty played the game in the first grass tennis court some 10 centuries or so ago. That said, the sport spread to other European and Russian courts, eventually the British Isles. It never reached such popularity as we have today for reasons that can be explained. In the beginning the sport was looked at as entertainment for the rich and powerful, exclusively for the benefit of the Court. There is a Byzantine title 'Kyr' also given to those who master a profession, vocation, etc. To put everything in perspective, Novak Djokovic deserves to be anoited Kyr Novak.

The difference between Novak and the rest of the players is his intellect and his ferocity! He’s a Serbian son and as such he has inherited ferocity and intellect from his ancestors who were fighting bravely different enemies to preserve their freedom since 14t century to present. As a child he witnessed the aggression on his country and no doubt that helped mold him in to what he’s today, a great champion, the greatest of all! He’s a Serbian National Tresor! May he be blessed!
I think we as fans have been incredibly lucky to have these 3. They're shared the accolades between them for so long; few other players managed to win a GS while these 3 were competing. I often look at the list of grand slam winners, and this period of time is unlike any other in the history of the sport. 66 GS's between 3 people in the same era has never happened before.
He didn't need to add on a neutral surface. That doesn't make sense. Nadal was so much better than Federer on Clay, you have to take that into account. Federer never beat Nadal one time at Roland Garros. I still think Roger is the goat though, even if Novak may be the better returner and have more slams.
Reporter: Who do you think is better between Federer and Nadal? Djokovic: When you talk about the Big 3.... we have all pushed each other. Bro felt left out and inserted himself into the answer. Lol.
Real tennis fans or tennis fans under 25 years old? Lol the Federer Nadal rivalry recreated the sport and put it back on the map after the Sampras Agassi days died.. there is zero reason to disparage Federer to try to prop up your guy.. they were all great. End of story
It is always amusing to see how Novak haters claim that Djokovic won most of his GS in a weak era , but do not explain how come only Djokovic was able to " take advantage" of " injured Nadal " in SEVEN(7) consecutive finals starting with the 2011 clay season and ending with the epic 5hrs.53min.2012 AO final, or how he took advantage of " old FEDERER" by beating him in 3 Wimbledon finals, even though Roger had two match points on his serve.
To me all Federer, Nadal and Djokovic are all unique legends in their own ways and are very different tennis players as well with their own unique styles and what they do best in each areas of tennis. So to me all these comparisons honestly makes no sense to me. sorry.
Roger , then daylight . a true artist with a raquet . Everybody's obsessed with Majors , but Federer had every shot in the book plus more , the best serve and the most sublime one handed backhand , unlike the the ugly twohander of most others . That being said , I hope Novak gets to 25 and beyond , and leaves Nadal in the clay dust .
Novak is right, these three led the golden era of tennis. When they all retire, tennis is gonna suffer. Pretty much like the ladies tennis hasn’t risen to the occasion since the retirement of the Williams sisters
Novak was given a platform to provide his analysis of his rivals’ games. In a recent video, he was reported to have said Murray is better than Nadal. I don’t remember coming across Federer and Nadal doing similar analysis of their rivals. Perhaps, he is getting a head start on his announcing career to rival John McEnroe. Very shrewd business mind.
In there Minds They believe That RF Is The most completely player In the History . But Normally They Can not say That at all …. That question maybe you Can asking Messi & Ronaldo about Tennis World to Give you a good answer 😊
on wii tennis? Nadal won't be back until 2024, will retire in the same year and MAYBE has a shot at a RG and by then Djokovic will have more than 23 slams in any case. When Djokovic soon enough gets to DOUBLE Nadal's time spent at number 1 it's going to even more clearly underline what's what.
I've been a loyal fan of Nadal since the first time I watched him beat Federer for the first time as a teenager. But I've learned to admire Djokovic as one of the three best tennis champions of our generation. They pushed each other to become better and should be appreciated for their unique personalities and abilities. Federer has won more Grand Slams than Nadal and Djokovic in Wimbledon (8) and US open (5) That’s 2/4 GS surfaces.Hard court & Grass Djokovic (10) in AO Nadal (14) in FO
Federer has 8 Wimbledons, Djokovic 7. In a few weeks there's Wimbledon 2023 - Djokovic with 8 AND 3 Wimbledon final defeats of Federer would be a hard case to argue against....
Djokovic don't be diplomatic. I would say, if we say on teh half clay-half grass match, Nadal is definitely the winner. But Federer and Nadal, learnt the game on clay, you learnt on hard courts, I think surfaces don't matter, otherwise then we should also consider heat, humidity, balls, rackets into the mix since these all effect the game. If we look at averages, Borg won 11 in 6 years. Conors won on all three surfaces, US Open was clay or grass in some of his time. Laver completed the GS twice. Edberg has the junior GS. etc etc. Agassi competing at the finals against the best from two eras. The players, if required to overcome weather, balls, health, psychological issues, then lets not really worry about the court surface. Nadal considered a clay court specialist, has won 4 on the fastest surface against prime hard court players, you and Daniil. he has won the French Open more bacause of his resilience, its the hardest to play on that surface. Not really because of speed, he is like a bull who doesn't understand when to give up. Main point is, all three of you are the gretaest, because of your perseverance and consistency and giving it all , mental state and game, and using your talents for the better.. Titles I would say are just a small part, mostly since everyone wants a winner. I would put in Murray and Wawrinka for their talent as well.
bro come on. how can you surfaces don't matter? how come Rafa clearly plays and dominates differently than on clay and everyone else struggles against him on that surface
@@nixxor7 everyone struggles against him on all surfaces. Clay court is definitely harder, since your stepping and footwork is vital plus you need very resilient legs. Federer and Djokovic have that, Nadal beat Federer 3 times in the RG final.

See how the reporter questions the big 3 and brought the new gen as biggest rival. Big 3 are retiring and will be retired as age. Not necessarily because because the new gen are better. The quality of tennis will go down after the big 3.
Was there a need for the last question really though
So Kyrgios is the "GOAT"? 😁
@@thesoccergod Definately a "master" of something by the indication of his surname. It could also mean 'nobility' of sorts? But that's up to Kyrgios to find out for himself?
Comon.... it was international way before these 3 were in diapers
@@tommiejohansson962 Of course, just as aviation and technology facilitated it. That's what I'm talking about; the coming of age. That why I used the word "evolved'.
Actually what Novak wants to say is what kind of Stupid Question is that. If that's Coach Pop of Spurs asking stupid questions trust me the answer is absolutely brilliant
Amazing man really
Political answer 😊
I think both Novac and Nadal are better than Federer, he is also good though.
You forget he's also older and has 2 girls. Everything changed when that happened.
@@GhostruckerX but even with Fed nearing retirement and Nadal still at a prime age, Fed won most of their last matches. whe Fed was 27-32, no one between the ages of 31-37 was beating him much at all. if Fed would have changed his tactics sooner, he wold have beaten Nadal more times than not throughout his career.
The people will remember big 3 Federer Nadal Djokovic because probably we never see players genious enjoying the game while pain is near
We still have big 3 ???
I don't think so.
Head to head record says it all. Period. Especially if you play more than 4 or 5 times and there's more than a one match difference in wins.
Name of the music you used in the start of the video?
Oh noes. I come back to this vid to resume a conversation (not a particularly sensible one, admittedly) and I see that crazy assertions such as Djokovic having a better slice than Federer was too much even for the uploader.
Oh well. Off to another vid to pick a new fight.
I picked novak 👍
Journalists always have stupid questions, all those press conferences post games are useless.
Ne glupiraj se
Well said ‼️ Thank you🥂
why did Nato bomb Serbia again?
@steinanderson9849 illigal VN didn't give aproval. Nazi nato
A gentleman!
Novak eye is droppy
Smart answer
He didn't need to add on a neutral surface. That doesn't make sense. Nadal was so much better than Federer on Clay, you have to take that into account. Federer never beat Nadal one time at Roland Garros. I still think Roger is the goat though, even if Novak may be the better returner and have more slams.
Well said Novak
Reporter: Who do you think is better between Federer and Nadal?
Djokovic: When you talk about the Big 3.... we have all pushed each other.
Bro felt left out and inserted himself into the answer. Lol.
What a great sportsman
Good answer. But he didn't answer the question.
Tennis will never see anything like the Big 3 again .
Real tennis fans know that Rafa v. Nole is the greatest rivalry in tennis
and Djoker respects Nadal much more than Federer.
Real tennis fans or tennis fans under 25 years old? Lol the Federer Nadal rivalry recreated the sport and put it back on the map after the Sampras Agassi days died.. there is zero reason to disparage Federer to try to prop up your guy.. they were all great. End of story
Big 3 like in old Starcraft game, Terran vs Protos vs Zerg, too bad they didn't start playing at the same time.. what race do you think Djoko is ?
He is an alien 😂
It is always amusing to see how Novak haters claim that Djokovic won most of his GS in a weak era , but do not explain how come only Djokovic was able to " take advantage" of " injured Nadal " in SEVEN(7) consecutive finals starting with the 2011 clay season and ending with the epic 5hrs.53min.2012 AO final, or how he took advantage of " old FEDERER" by beating him in 3 Wimbledon finals, even though Roger had two match points on his serve.
Discipline beats talent
old age beats talent
To me all Federer, Nadal and Djokovic are all unique legends in their own ways and are very different tennis players as well with their own unique styles and what they do best in each areas of tennis. So to me all these comparisons honestly makes no sense to me. sorry.
so there you go - djokovic gave his answer and the correct one - King Rafa ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Federe is better than Nadal,100%
to me tennis is fnd = federer nadal djokovic ... ❤❤
I would love to see a Tennis match played on Ice surface with Ice skates.
Novak is right, these three led the golden era of tennis. When they all retire, tennis is gonna suffer. Pretty much like the ladies tennis hasn’t risen to the occasion since the retirement of the Williams sisters
Das ist waltschmertz!
1. Djokovic
2. Nadal
3. Federer
Based on their H2H, even in Grand Slam H2H
@@trailrunner2016Alcaraz still experiencing aging Djokovic.
His answer was.... Me
In there Minds They believe That RF Is The most completely player In the History . But Normally They Can not say That at all …. That question maybe you Can asking Messi & Ronaldo about Tennis World to Give you a good answer 😊
Only Nadal can catch nole
on wii tennis? Nadal won't be back until 2024, will retire in the same year and MAYBE has a shot at a RG and by then Djokovic will have more than 23 slams in any case. When Djokovic soon enough gets to DOUBLE Nadal's time spent at number 1 it's going to even more clearly underline what's what.
😂
I've been a loyal fan of Nadal since the first time I watched him beat Federer for the first time as a teenager. But I've learned to admire Djokovic as one of the three best tennis champions of our generation. They pushed each other to become better and should be appreciated for their unique personalities and abilities. It's great that Novak is still competing against the NowGen Sinner and Alcaraz and we should enjoy him while we still can.
24 and olympic Gold 🥇 now 💯🐐❤️
WATCHING THIS......................AGAIN I SERIOUSLY SUGGEST NOVAK SHOULD BE A STATESMAN FOR SERBIA, IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE..........HE CAN BE/IS FAR FAR MORE DIPLOMATIC & CAPABLETHAN MOST OF THE SO CALL BEAN COUNTING PRESIDENTS WHO THINK OF ECONOMY & THE WORD""DEMOCRACY"" ONLY......
Just imagine without Djokovic, Fed and Nadal already have 40 GS each
no. probably around 30-35
Nadal would have 5 more and Federer at least 10
Lovely, smart man. Just like Nadal and Federer.
In men's tennis,
Nadal has the record for most titles in one grandslam - 14
Djokovic has the record for most titles in two grand slams - 7
Federer has the record for most titles in 3 different grandslams - 5
Djokovic has the record for most titles in four grand slams - 3
…and Novak has the record for holding more grand slams than any other player on record -23
Federer has won more Grand Slams than Nadal and Djokovic in Wimbledon (8) and US open (5)
That’s 2/4 GS surfaces.Hard court & Grass
Djokovic (10) in AO
Nadal (14) in FO
Nadal defeat Novak very more times than Federer, and his age is more similar.
I mean it’s quite simple, Nadal on clay, probably roger on grass and novak on hard court
Federer has 8 Wimbledons, Djokovic 7. In a few weeks there's Wimbledon 2023 - Djokovic with 8 AND 3 Wimbledon final defeats of Federer would be a hard case to argue against....
More like Djokovic on hard and grass.. Federer second on grass because of his defeats against Djokovic ( 3 times) and Nadal on Clay
It is very difficult to pick Federer on grass over Djokovic, considering how many times Djokovic has beaten him there.
Federer no where
For now it is true. Novak is still healthy and strong. Breaking Roger's record on grass is within reach.
Bang on Joko, just answer gooooooooood night to all disrespectfull audience,25'th slam I hope 🎉
Federer: Magician
Nadal: Beliefs
No1E: Mentality
Like this comment if you get it
The big 3 will be missed 😢
Nadal won that match.
