Long lost 77 Cutlass Supreme Coldstart

- After many months of sitting around it was time to move the cutlass. For some reason ive never filmed this car, or event talked about it. So maybe in the future if anyone is interested we could do some more with this. Its a great old car. just needs a little love. This has the "gold rocket" 400 Oldsmobile v8, the engine is a non smog model from 1969 and it built and blueprinted. She puts down around 330hp and really burns off them white letter tires!

we need to see that cutlass some more, love old American muscle..
I agree but I am not sure if I would describe a 1977 Cutlass as muscle. A nice car, though.

@SpRiNgCoMa4372 0_0 I have a 2019 civic type r, but even the early 2000s type r civics were quick for what they were and could do 0-60 in 6.3 seconds. Even if you had 442 you'd still be only hitting 60 at 6.5 seconds at the fastest. Sound like you were racing stock economy cars with exhausts.
My first car was a 77 Supreme 350 rocket. I just bought a 77 Salon to restore, but always looking for the next Cutlass. LOVE this car!!
I love the 76 & 77 body style Cutlass Supreme. My mom aunt had a cream color 2 door Cutlass Supreme hardtop with a 350. I always thought it was a cool looking car with those super stock rally rims on a mid-size luxury coupe.
LOL.. when it finally starts, and your buddy outside yells, "It's aliiiiiive!!!" So funny. That's an awesome engine sound.

I drove a 77 Cutless for my first car!, My dad refused to let me get a Camaro. He said once i turned 18 he would not mind. Well I did get a 1978 Camaro once I turned 18, And it was a lot of fun!!!

The 77 Cutlas is an iconic design. A 5-spoke Cragar-type wheel sets it off perfectly. I recommend more love for this ride.

The original wheels look best, in my opinion.
The 1976-'77 Buick Regal is the closest GM 'look-alike' car.
The Regal is just slightly more beautiful and sophisticated than the Oldsmobile Cutlass...

My most favorite car! The 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme....My first one was black on black with white pen stripe! It had a 350 in it..but had air shocks on the rear end! I LOVED IT, & I'd love to have another one!!
It definitely reminds me of the sound of an Olds Cutlass.... the starter, the exhaust, etc.

I love those old Cutli and Monte's, my first car was a 75 Monte Carlo, my second car was a 77 Monte Carlo and I gave $75 for a 77 Cutlass just like that one I drove for a year.

That Cutlass is a seriously cool car. And it's cosmetically in pretty good shape apart from the steering wheel. Sounds great too.

my dad once had a 1982 Olds Cutlass Supreme. i loved that old car... no idea what kind of engine it had in it to be honest tho.

I'd certainly love to see more on the Cutlass. Those J-bodies have a good following now, and that one looks very sound considering how badly they can rust so it's got to be worth a fair few bucks now...

nice I had a very solid 84 cutlass supreme brougham, with a built tpi 305 1991 camaro rs motor, car had 72,423 mile,one rust hole and three dents,no headliner,got totaled though I loved that car!!

Reminds me of my high school car: a 78 Cadillac Coupe deville with an 8 track player... but it looks like you've replaced the 8 track player in the Cutlass. Oh well :/
+Nathan Kim 8 tracks are great, but unless you're into the music from the time that they were current you're pretty much shit out of luck with having tunes on the move...
True, but you can always record new music on the 8 track with the 8 track recorder. ^^
+Nathan Kim I had no idea there was any such thing and I had no idea 8 tracks were recordable. I suspect a lot of other people didn't either. Clearly that makes a huge difference...
I loved mine. It was white on white with t-tops shifter on the floor.

I could well be wrong, but if I was fault-finding on the Cutlass I'd probably start with the mechanical fuel pump on the engine, if the diaphragm is starting to fail it'll have trouble getting fuel up to the engine, and something else that can happen with those mechanical pumps is that the arm that runs off the crank or cam shaft to make the pump, well, pump can get worn which stops the pump working at full pressure. Beyond that there could be a leak in the fuel lines back to the tank which is letting air in and allowing the fuel to drain back, it wouldn't need to be much of a leak to allow the fuel to drain back overnight and make starting difficult as it tries to get fuel back up to the pump...

I miss my '77. Got a couple videos on my channel (the first few videos I ever posted).. had a small block chevy in it when I bought it, but regardless, great car. Wish I'd never sold it.

I had a 76 & 77 the 76 had so much rust that when it rained out side it was raining inside the car the front and back windshild leaked bad had to let go of her found out she was rusted out damn i miss that car

Daniel Johnson my grandad bought it new. drove it for years. and then I me and my older brother drove it partially through highschool. trans always had some slipping overdrive but it was fine cruising around the city and stuff. he picked up a new truck in 2012 and we parked it. has about 250k miles. original motor. original trans original rear end. timing chain has been rattling since 30k miles and the fuel gauge is iffy. but we put that poor dodge through hell and back!
