Been thinking about getting a Marshmallow contact mike or just getting a handful of cheap piezos and making my own (Marshmallows come with integral pre-amps, though). I like your thinking, though. 😀 I’ve been staring at an antique Victor turntable hand crank and everything and have all kinds of noise box ideas I could do with that-if I can get permission to use it (which I doubt 🤦🏻♂️). Need another subscriber? 😄
Yeah, I got the Marshmallow specifically for the preamp, since I don't have a dedicated mic preamp and figured this kind of recording would need it. So far, it seems pretty well made? I also have a bag of those ~$2 piezos you can get everywhere; it might be fun to do a side-by-side test of the difference in sound/recording. Even I'm curious to hear if I could've gotten away with the cheap stuff. :) Welcome!
"smaller audience" made me laugh)))).. great video with piezo mic experience
Just spittin' facts here. 📠
very inspiring... thank you! I've already got a good wooden box, now i just need the contact mic
i enjoyed it
