I always enjoy seeing Roseville. My mother recieve some when they were married. So , I grew up with it around me. She was married in 1950
My grandmother and granddad got a piece in the 1930s that has stayed in the family
Omg I love that peice with birds...serenade
Me too
Now thats Square Danc' en 😅 😂 😂 ❤
Cool how the Serenade pitcher is also a bird form
Interesting story about Blue Mountain Pottery. In the early 1960’s my Emma had a room painted the color of their glaze and that room gave the the creeps at 3 years old. I like the pottery but that blue evokes a strong memory.
Lol yes, for another viewer it's the green. I admit I like their silver and orange (both hard to find) the best
I’m loving the bluegrass intro music! It’s 4:53 am in Texas and it got my blood going. Good morning George, looking forward to another great show.
I don't see Art Deco in the Cosmos as much as I see Impressionism. I think it is gorgeous, but I see Monet every time!
You know, I think that's a fair statement! It is more to the French taste and is earlier than most of Ferrell's floral patterns
I started carrying a black light for checking for cracks LONG before I started collecting uranium - like about 40 years ago Along with a linen tester to look at prints. It is good to get a little makeup case and make up a little "Kit" to take to places with you. I have a whole list of things in my kit!
Linen tester! I like those. I am working on a kit and would be curious about your input as to necessities
I would enjoy your list of items in your kit!
Glad to have seen this while waiting for your new live that starts soon 🎉
Oh my, I have a couple of the 1980’s carved wooden heads I love so much! Glad to hear they are collectible. I had no idea. Thanks for sharing all you expertise, much appreciated.
I'm glad to do it!
That “ bob hope” piece looks like Barry Fitzgerald - hence the Irish detail!
Hmmm I better check that! Thanks
😮 that woman ought to have shown you the repair😮 she was taking advantage of you
Happy New Year, George and Xeno! I’m so thankful to 2022- finding you and having SO much fun! Glad you are here in the NW.
I'm so glad too! I'm grateful to be able to share my fun
Catching up Happy New Year George & Xeno Morph ✨💜✨
Happy new year!!
George , I'm so glad I met you on here through Danni , really enjoyed watching your education on these items today. I've just recently started selling on FB Market Place to add a little income to survive. God Bless you and yours in this New Year !
Thanks for all your output in 2022 Always educational and enjoyable
Wishing you all a happy healthy wealthy fabulous 2023 And more adventures
Thank you so much and I look forward to taking you along!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge on pottery, you are the very best. I have been following you on you tube, and I must say, you are a wealth of knowledge. Keep the videos coming.
Thanks so much, I appreciate your support and viewership!
Love the dutch poscard..my dad was dutch his parents from holland
Cute! Such scenes very prominent in early 1900s American decor
Your wealth of knowledge is just fascinating. Not only do you know about the pieces but the historical context surrounding them. It's extraordinary. I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say that you are an inspiration and a treasure. And it's just so awesome that not only you know you stuff but you enjoy sharing what you know and elevating everyone's knowledge. It's all of us collectors that are keeping history alive, and the more we know, the better.
A very sincere thank you, and I look forward to your continued content and education. Happy New Year and happy hunting.
I love the music intro!
Thanks! It seems like people love or hate it but I like it a lot
Like the yellow in back of you
Happy New Year!
Happy new year! I look forward to sharing good old stuff and good old times with you in the new year
Another Great Educational Video! Don't Forget to Visit Traditions Antique Mall in Wildwood, when you do your shows in Florida! My Booth is #24, you mentioned you hadn't been there yet!
Love your intro!😊
Thank you!!
I’ve got a huge blown venition marked heavy piece gorgeous
Oh my I never see that pattern for sale. Its in my cabinet. yes my gold is worn but its used pretty much every day. I am missing the smallest bowl. Guess its worth it to find it. I have another set the primary ones that I found at a apt sale for $4. Although the small bowl is worn .
Oh neat! I’m glad I found something you have
Hi George, 🎉HAPPY NEW YEAR🎉 to you! I really like you videos, you add so much helpful knowledge to the items. I especially like when you note the status of the market for specific categories. Like the pottery coming back in , I know the cut glass is making a slow come back so I’m hanging on to mine and picking up some out in the wild! Keep up the flow of knowledge and adventures! Wishing you good vibes as you go about your treasure hunting travels!
Be well,
CJ in Spokane!
PS I always loved the Hull / pastels type of pottery!!
Thanks! I'll try to keep making those observations
I visited Star Antiques last week. Enjoyed your booth and picked up a Papago basket. It is now back in Arizona. I enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing so munch knowledge.
I’m so glad to do it! I’m glad I had something appropriate for where you collect
Its nice to use books for reference than googling
Also can be more accurate
Love the idea of watching old movies to see the collectibles and decor!
Your information is so on point! I really appreciate your ideas on upcoming trends!
Thanks so much! I like to consider what's going to drive new collectors to things
watch for Blue Mountain Pottery pieces that have "crying eyes" as these are more collectible.
Interesting variant, I'll check that out!
Catching the replay; love your videos & learn so much!
Just 2 examples of what I have learned today that will aid in this journey of collecting and reselling:
- I will have to check my Hull for the “Orange skin” to know if it is before or after 1950.
I will have to check my Roseville for the signs you mentioned for counterfeit (very, very good to learn).
I thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge!
Wonderful! Helping collectors gives me purpose
In case no one chimed in, I believe that’s Woodcraft. I’d love to buy it if you still have it!
Oop! Didn’t watch long enough. 😂
Happy New Year George.
Happy new year!
I enjoyed this one.
I'm glad!
George! My sister and I went to Tower Antiques yesterday. I bought that nice Belleek vase you had there. What a wonderful store that is!!!
Oh I'm so glad you got that piece, and saw what a neat store it is!
Hello always interesting show love to look at all
The triple bud vase is stunning!
Very sweet little piece!
Dear George , I think that that style of Pyrex isn't as popular because it's lidless and nothing ceramic fits as a substitute lid . It's tin foil or other things like plastic wrap that seal . Their motto from the freezer to the oven to the table doesn't apply to this style . 😊
That's probably true
I’m from Hutchinson MN!
Cool coincidence!
Love the wooden carved faces. Thanks for the Roseville info, it will sure help with my reselling knowledge. The large white vase is FAB. I collect some Fiesta. Happy New Year!!
I'd say this was a phenomenal way to start your New Year! What an amazing haul! Safe travels to Florida and great success!
Thank you! I hope your New Year gets off to a great start too
Hey there missed the live
George would you sell that Weller piece that was fixed? And how much?
I will, please email me at theantiquenomad@gmail.com
George did you know that there is another Blue Ridge Pottery outside of Charlottesville VA Their stuff is beautiful too I've visited there My family knows the owner. Check them out Family owned
What is that bowl in the background? Haha some of us are so nosy
I think the one you meant is my friend's Tim Foss bowl, he was a Seattle potter who retired young and moved to Minnesota to pursue other ventures
@@TheAntiqueNomadLive it must be great because I couldn’t stop looking at it
💖
Hello George
Hello!
❤
WOW missed the live I never get TH-cam notifications soooooooo frustrating 😔
I am so sorry! We asked them to look into why that was happening today but it didn't help everyone yet
@@TheAntiqueNomadLive it's everyone I follow , I see a lot of viewers complaining about it , TH-cam is the problem 😔 💙🙂
Little hint - don't walk past souvenir spoon collections. I have my mother's collection - about 150 spoons and more than half are sterling! I have added to the collection by picking sterling out of collections at garage sales. Most people just walk right by them!
That is definitely a tip worth observing! I've made plenty picking out the odd silver piece amongst a bunch of silver plated or chrome examples
The lady figurine with the muff is not Kay Finch?
I’m always in late :p)
It's still fun afterwards!
Has Rookwood gone down in price like Roseville?
Not to the same extent. There are some molded reproductions but not as many as Roseville
Hi George. What is/are the proper price range for David Winter castles? Do like a good castle.
Safe trip to Florida. (Oh to be a snowbird!😊 🐧➡️🦩)
Thank you! I'm trying to be careful
At about 51.30, you mention you did a video about antique advertising with your friend. I'd like to watch it. I'm about halfway through a video where you go through your friend's advertising booth, but it doesn't give info on the points you're making in this here video.
I'm working on another one involving his collections!
What is a big Bertha ty
FLIGHTS WERE A NIGHTMARE , THANKS BRANDON FOR PUSHING THE COVID SHOTS FOR AIRLINE EMPLOYEES
The flight crews I talked to said it was not due to illness. They said the system broke down due to delays that meant flight crews couldn’t keep working because they get too tired to be safe
WOW YOU ARE CRANKING OUT THE VIDEOS , CAN'T KEEP UP
Happy New Year!
Same to you!
