      It may very well rank number one, even above the bike rides (that my books are about). Thanks for watching, Monsieur Grand Chat! 😊🙏🏼✌🏼

    You were doing awesome!! Some parts are more strenuous than others and due to safety one has to slow down at times. We all don't want you to trip and get hurt or slide off of anything. Safety first! If you don't complete it, then you don't. It takes the time that it takes. You can always come back though I am confident you can do it. I just want you to be able too see the trail past Ozone.
    We vacation and hike in Arkansas every year, at least once and yeah the terrain is very rocky and uneven. Those bluffs too! Scenic but one has to be cautious. I am enjoying your journey. So glad you got to come back. Arkansas is my favorite playpen.

      I ❤️❤️❤️ ARKANSAS, too! So where are you actually from? I feel like a lot of people are unaware of Arkansas’ greatness. (Which is good.)

      @@Womaninthewoods13 I am in Iowa. I grew up in NY state where the Adirondacks were my playground. Now, I am in Iowa and yeah, we just love Arkansas. All that clean water, fresh air, and serenity.

    I am following along. I am not a novice hiker but I am not super experienced either. I have yet to solo hike and camp. You are hiking in some of the most gorgeous areas our state has to offer in my opinion. White Rock Mtn is so beautiful. Congrats on your 2 nights in so far and I admire your seeking the adventure of sleeping on the leaves! -Lori

      Hi, Lori! Thank you so much for watching! Yes, I am in love with your state! I’ll publish day three in two days. Happy trails! 😊🙏🏼✌🏼

    OMG, I just connected the dots! I was doing Ouachita National Trail (section 1) at the same time (wed-thu). Just a little SW of where you were, in OK. Tuesday night was right at freezing temps and very windy. Wednesday though was nice and the low overnight was 60F (16C) which is just crazy for winter time! I only did the one section though and you are through hiking. Very impressive. Looking forward to rest of this series. I might have to add this trail to the bucket-list. Keep doing what your doing and I hope you enjoyed your time in the USA!

      I am in love with the OHT and highly recommend it! I hope you do hike it! New video from this 12-day hike will be published every five days…day three will be published later today! Hi definitely enjoyed my time in the USA and I’ll definitely be back! Thanks again for watching! 😊🙏🏼💛✌🏼

    This is a very, very, good video series Christina. I am really enjoying the scenery there. So far, it appears that you have managed the water crossings pretty well and haven't taken any dunks in the water yet. And I guess that the "cookless meals" are working out pretty well for you and haven't caused any regret in the decision to bring them. Those would probably not work very well for me though, I kind of enjoy the process of a hot meal with a hot beverage way too much. Whatever works for you though, you are the one that is carrying the backpack out there so it is yours to choose. Thanks again for taking us along and I will see you on the next one my friend.

      I was very happy with my choice of going cook-free and will probably do so more often. I do need to change my portion size for better accessibility for the nut and raisin mixture, though. Also, I loved the Boost breakfasts so much that I will pack more of those next time. I’m already working on my next trip in March! Thank you for watching and commenting, my friend. 💛🙏🏼✌🏼😊

    Enjoying the trip & your video log. Regarding tarp camping & sleeping on the ground, you could have put your small tarp (from the Hennessey Hammock) under your sleeping bag for a vapor barrier. Looking forward to watching the upcoming videos of the Ozark hike

    • @Womaninthewoods13
      @Womaninthewoods13  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually my hammock tarp is semi-permanently attached to the hammock. I would have had to unpack the entire thing, roll up the snake skin, and undo the perfectly-measured rigging just to get to it. I did think to myself that I could have used it had I not, only recently, started using that snakeskin. I am glad you are enjoying this series, Douglas! I hope you have a wonderful week! 🥰✌🏼

      @douglasdoucette7352 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Womaninthewoods13 I had the same model HH but unclipped the tarp so I could take a larger tarp when desired. Snake skins really simplify the setup & takedown!

    Great video! Thanks for sharing. On a side note you could always look into a trekking pole tent such as the lanshan 1 P or 2 P versions.

    I love the cameos of I'm guessing your niece? At the end of each video. So sweet 😊. Those frost flowers are really cool, I've heard of them but never seen one in person. I give you so much credit for sleeping right on the ground...I could never haha, I wouldn't be able to move in the morning. I hope it worked out alright for you!!

    Wow! You were booking. Practically running at times. Was the bell for bear, hogs, hunters or all three? Can't wait to find out how that night on the ground went. So cool you saw wild turkey.
