The girl herself is real, she is there, but the model is over her using a motion caption gear, Suisei is one of over 50 idols from the hololive idol studio of virtual youtubers, each one of them are great singers, some more than others, it would be great if you reacted to more songs, not only from her but her companions too.

the world of vsingers goes far deeper than hololive and nijisanji.
Kamitsubaki Studio is a big music studio primarily dealing with virtual talents and has a sister studio named Sinsekai Studio.
Kamitsubaki is home to talents like Kaf who started her vsinging career at 14yo but has now since graduated highschool and even held her 3rd One Man live at the Budoukan.
The budoukan is the giant indoor stage that all japanese music talents aim to perform at, including Suisei herself.
Sinsekai has a vtuber dance and song unit called Valis (and they also perform “in the flesh” known as their “Origin” vs their “avatar”) as well as being home to groups like Oresama who were once signed with Lantis but are now known to be part of Sinsekai.
Kaf and suisei respect each other's talents a whole lot. They sang together for 1 song at Vtuber Fest 2022 (part of Nicovideo Choukaigi around march or april thereabouts) and since then, Kaf recently went on Suisei's NHK radio program where they also exchanged contacts for the very first time.
Kaf's most well known songs: Devour the Past, and Fukakai (不可解)
Then there's units like Vesperbell and Cocotsuki who are rock duos, KMNZ a hiphop duo, Monsterz Mate and Boogey Voxx rap duos.
      Phaze is a jazzy?rock? band
Johnny Henry is a Blues band
Enogu, Palette Project, Gems Company are all Idol groups.
Next you have soloists such as: Asano Ruri, Kanade Mimi, MaiR, Hachi, Enma Ruri, and many more

And this is how she sings under alot of pressure. She presented in a way to prevent any negative reactions to her cartoon aprarence before they could happen by simply walking up to the mic and letter her voice do all the work.
ALSO, the gentleman on the guitar is the man who wrote the original musical arrangement. Suisei herself wrote the lyrics. He wrote this acoustic version for this filming and was afraid he was going to mess up and make her mess up. As a pair, they have a group they call the Midnight Grand Orchestra.

It's worth knowing that she is the first virtual youtuber to appear on First Take. Her company expected people would criticize a vtuber and told her "no warm up, just start singing".

i highly recommend listening to more of her discography, she is amazing.
she just had a second appearance on the first take , with a song called `michizure`with cc that are alot more accurate compared to the ones on this video.
she also had her 2nd solo live concert which has a free snipit featuring 3 songs being performed on her channel.
there are also a bunch of free concerts featuring the other vtuber talents of the group hololive which suisei is part of.

2:28 I liked that reaction 🤣. Suisei does have that power on people to shake the people awake and make them listen 🤣.
As for the model. 3D is a bit hard to do, but it's basicly a virtual model that's calibrated to motion caption equipment. So if Suisei lifts her arm, the motion capture will register that the part that's callibrated to her arm shifted and the model will follow such movement, you see them used alot for movies that use alot of CGI for their characters. 2D is a bit easier as they just require face tracking to interact with a stationary virtual model and most can just do so with facetracking on a phone.
Now about *Our shooting star, your diamond in the rough, idol VTuber Hoshimachi Suisei.* I'm a fan, been so far years, and specially that second part "our diamond in the rough" couldn't be further from the truth. We who follow Suisei knows that she has been given the short end of the stick multiple times, close to even giving up to pursuit her career as a VTuber. Yet someone in Hololive was able to pull some strings, that someone goes by the name A-chan, and I can't thank A-chan enough to take that risk to transfer Suisei over from Inonaka music (a music side branch of Hololive) to the main branch of Hololive, where Suisei would go on as a Mario cart, tetris and singing goddess.
Ever since her tranfer to the main branch it went uphill for Suisei and is still showing her dedication to this day, she even did this first take as intended (without any warm up needed), just shows the hours she has been putting into learning her lyrics, she really shines like a diamond as she sings.

As others have said, Suisei is a virtual TH-camr, or Vtuber, who uses an animated persona as her way to present herself to the world online. She is a part of a Vtuber talent agency from Japan called Hololive, which is home to nearly 80 incredibly talented people from around the world (they have three branches currently mostly centered around the primary language: Japanese, English, and Indonesian). Normally, these talents do livestreaming on TH-cam using a 2-dimensional character model that has been animation rigged to move using motion and audio tracking software to bring the character to life on screen. What you're seeing here is the next step up from that, a 3D version of her 2D streaming avatar. For 3D performances like this and her live concerts (performed in front of a live audience), performers use a combination of motion capture and facial tracking to bring to live a 3D animated character on screen in real-time (the performer is usually somewhere close by the stage in a mocap-studio setup with a live feed from the audience so they can interact with the audience as they would if they were actually physically standing on stage). The key thing to remember is that the person behind the character has put a LOT of themselves into this character, so that they are able to free themselves of things like looks and appearance that might otherwise keep them from being able to do incredible things like this, so you can treat the character and the person behind the character as one and the same (in other words, Suisei is Suisei if that makes sense).
I highly, highly recommend checking out some of the other members of Hololive. There are some incredibly talented singers and performers there that are as good, if not better, than some charting artists out there today (in fact, some of them are now charting artists in Japan). If you like Suisei, I recommend checking out Tokoyami Towa as she's Hololive Vtuber from the Japanese branch with a very powerful voice like Suisei's, but with a deeper, darker tone to her voice that is quite unique and really awesome to listen to. Her first original song, "Palette", is a good one to start with as it's another ballad-type song like Stellar Stellar, plus her latest original, "Raimei", can give a contrasting style as it's much more heavy rock.
Thanks for taking the time to check out Suisei! Her fans (myself included) are very glad to see more and more people enjoying her music!

If you want to learn more about her, check out How Being Stubborn Saved Hoshimachi Suisei from Depressed Nousagi. He's known as the vtuber historian and has archives on numerous vtubers and different parts of their careers. He was also in some controversy for having forbidden knowledge (code for past lives or a past identity) behind a paywall. He was also falsely accused of doxing Amelia Watson of Hololive English gen 1. Rest assured that he has learned his lesson, so I say live and let live. It could also be good to get familiarized with Yagoo, the CEO of Cover Corp. which is the company that owns Hololive.

So the producer usually does none of the work in any project, except to cut stuff out and add some other stupid shit, just so they can "leave their mark"?
    Is that right?
Why would such a guy be able to assess creative merit? All he's thinking about is the $ signs in his eyes.

    Hmm, in America, Japanese anime
, MANGA, and Hololive are all cartoons.
Japan does not have its own culture! They are all American subcultures, American imitations.
Americans know more about Japan than Japanese people
