Not all those who wonder are lost! PSAs: For those wondering where next campaigns get voted on - it's over in the community tab of the channel. For those wondering if you can name units - yes! Just make sure to include words "unit name" somewhere in the suggestion, so it is searchable for me, otherwise I may or may not miss it. For those wondering what I did with the graphics: currently, ReShade with SMAA, FXAA, sharpen, vibrance, and fakeHDR. I don't like what it does to trees, so will be adjustments.
Dude, are you crazy? Thanks so much. I'm just enjoying the most out of a game I've pretty much dreamt of since I was a kid - I love that you guys get a kick out of it. Let me know if you have a recurring hero/unit you'd like to name, I'd love to add it permanently to my recurring units/characters list.
Deep within the forsaken halls of Naggaroth, the ancient dark elf Malekith stood before the towering Altar of Ultimate Darkness. A sinister aura enveloped the chamber, casting eerie shadows upon his pale, regal features. Memories of a distant past flooded his mind, memories of a friendship forged in the crucible of war. Malekith and Grombrindal, the legendary white dwarf, had once been allies, bound by a common enemy. Ages ago, when the forces of chaos threatened to consume the world, they fought side by side, their camaraderie unyielding. But fate had played a cruel trick, twisting their paths and pitting them against each other in a cataclysmic battle. As Malekith stood in the presence of the altar, a dark whisper slithered through the air, seducing his thoughts with promises of revenge. The voice was subtle yet commanding, an insidious temptation that tugged at his wounded pride. The altar, a conduit of malevolence, amplified his darkest desires. With a heavy heart, Malekith recalled the battles he and Grombrindal had fought together, the victories they had shared, and the laughter they had once known. Yet, the memory of their final confrontation loomed over his mind like a shadowy specter. Pride and resentment clawed at his heart, blinding him to the bonds that once bound them. Grombrindal, the paragon of the dwarven race, had been a worthy adversary. The white dwarf's tenacity and valor were unparalleled, his hammer striking true against Malekith's forces. Their rivalry had been fierce, their clashes legendary. But amidst the chaos, there had been a flicker of mutual respect, a glimmer of the friendship they had shared in days long gone. Malekith approached the altar, his eyes fixed upon a dark, shimmering blade resting atop its obsidian surface. The temptation to embrace the darkness surged within him, the desire to use this unholy weapon to bring about Grombrindal's downfall. He knew that succumbing to this temptation would sever the remnants of their bond forever, yet the allure of power and vengeance was too great. As he reached for the blade, memories of their friendship surged forth like a tempest. He saw Grombrindal's grizzled face, lined with wisdom and battle scars. He saw the white dwarf's unwavering loyalty and indomitable spirit, which had inspired armies to rally against overwhelming odds. Malekith's hand faltered, the blade's chilling touch slipping from his grasp. In that moment, Malekith realized the true cost of his temptation. The fleeting satisfaction of revenge paled in comparison to the depth of their shared history. The world had changed, and they had changed with it, but the bond they had forged in their youth could not be erased by bitterness or pride. A bitter smile played upon Malekith's lips as he stepped away from the altar, leaving the dark blade untouched. He knew that the path of redemption lay not in destruction but in reconciliation. Though they were now destined to be eternal rivals, the memories of their old friendship would forever serve as a reminder of the bond they once shared. With a heavy heart and a renewed sense of purpose, Malekith turned away from the Altar of Ultimate Darkness. He would not let the darkness consume him, nor would he let it obliterate the memories of their old friendship. Instead, he would strive to find solace in the knowledge that even amidst the chaos of their world, true friendship could endure.
And Malekith smiled for he knew the joy it would bring him to destroy the malicious dwarf who dared to betray him. He advanced and, by grabing the sword, felt all its chaotic darkness entering him, empowering him, relieving him from all the emotional pain. He needed no such useless memorys of joy with a traitor for he did his decision and so did Malekith. With the weapon in his hands, he leaved the Altar of Ultimate Darkness, ready to furfill his destiny: make every soul fear his name. And so it shall be.
Malekith walks with such a brooding swagger. He knows what he is, he knows what he does. He knows that by his blade alone untold numbers die at just a flick of his wrist. He's hilariously edgy as hell and cool at the same time.
That's why he's an anti-villain, not an anti-hero. He is a villain with heroic traits. Heck, saving Hauclir was essentially a selfless act. Practically unheard of for DE.
I'm so excited for this. You've become one of my favorite TH-camrs by far!!! You're so good and so entertaining to watch. You know so much lore and you have such a good way of narrating!! Can't wait for the end of the lizard campaign and so excited to watch this campaign!!
I just started a Malekith campaign the other day. Left the beastmen alive and they ended up destroying themselves against the dwarves. It really helped.
44:03 The lowborns of Bretonnia have plenty of rights too you know. They have the right to die for Ze Lady! jokes aside, I'm hyped for this campaign. I have barely played Dark Elves myself.
Daddy is back !! Dude your videos are so amazing it feels like telling us a book, thank you for your exceptional videos, keep it up, You are my favorite Total War youtuber ❤
3:35 still would be nice to pursue this Hunt all the way through though-it would give you an excuse to invade Kislev (since they’re not that far from Gryphon Wood), the Southlands THUNDERDOME (since Heart of the Jungle is part of the wincon, and I’m sure Malekith could find SOME good use in having The Black Pyramid and Kehmri within reach from there), and Laurelorn (since that leaves you more or less within a stone’s throw of Albion-I believe Druchii have a Landmark building in Isle of Wights?) If you actually manage to unite all of the Druchii Lords, I will buy one of each piece of your merch; it seems incredibly ambitious but I would love to see Lokhir, The Crone, and ESPECIALLY Rakarth featured in some fashion during this series Slaves
26:20I think it's possible to peace out with the Skaven quickly if you raise your Military power quickly, that way you don't even have to meet the Dwarves until later.
Whoops! Zoats would make a pretty useful addition to the roster, I'll admit. Alas there isn't much in the way of good endgame scenario choices for Malekith.
@@RuinousInsightI think they might stay in your armies even if you aren't allied with you anymore. I've seen it happen after confederating other factions. But I'm not sure if it works if the faction breaks the alliance by declaring war.
Super hyped, if you did want kouran of the black guard I believe he is in legendary characters which is an auto include in all my campaigns and it is sfo compatible with a single submod
Unfortunately it seems like SFO compatibility is unfinished, which might screw with the balance. And then there's the possibility of SFO getting updated but these two submods not =/
Malekith doesn't have PTSD becose he is not a weakling and yes he is a villian but in the end he will redeem himselfs and avenge the death of his wife.
Played a little bit of SFO Dark Elf's as Darkblade after the patch. For what I experienced their economy is not good but they get a lot of money from battles and sacking.
Been playing with Hecleas AI Overhaul, works with SFO and makes the game much more enjoyable. AI is actually aggressive and is a bit smarter, less suicide stacks. Would be cool to see you try it out sometime Ruinous.
I just read the mod info and wow.....reminds me of those minecraft mods and starcraft 2 map mods. Looks so much fun but yes not a replacement for vanilla.
Hey, kinda wondered how the ui interface and text got so big, is that a mod or it was in the settings? Mine was so small and I dont know how to enlarge it, if anyone know how to enlarge it please let me know. Thanks a lot
Hi RI, I noticed that your units and character portraits looks HD and good while mine look really bad but I have setting to Ultra. Anything you did to make them look so good?
Saying Archaon isn't a complex character is crazy talk. He's basically the Human version of Malekith, except more believable. Being that Malekith should have really known better.
you should lower the ui size thats why you dont see whole tech tree in the empire campaign. you have it at 200 % deafault for 1440p is 160%. but to be honest i like 200 % to.

Thrilled to see Malekiths army become the Druchii engineer corps of this campaign, cant let this sweet construction bonus go to waste :D
Well he _does_ sit in his tower most of the time in the lore!
I wonder who will be the victim of Malekiths ire in this campaign, will it be the high elves for their ignorance or the dwarfs for their shortcomings.
Short?!
Thats a grudgin’ !!!
SHORT?!? THERE WILL BE NO ALLIANCE WHILE I AM HIGH KING
SHORT!? That's going in the book lad

I must say I am a big fan of the purple UI and the thumbnail for this series.
I rarely hear anything about the thumbnails, thanks for that =D
@@RuinousInsight really? Ive always thought your thumbnails are pretty cool but maliketh looks especially dope in this thumbnail
Excited to see Malekith and his Druchii bathe the world in edge
I just started a Malekith campaign the other day. Left the beastmen alive and they ended up destroying themselves against the dwarves. It really helped.
Nice, Malekith in SFO is one of my favorite campaigns!
6:05 I think the actions in the Iron Fist section of the Witch Kings Authority screen are permanent.
This is going an interesting campaign. May this playthough be filled with many bloody offerings to Khaine!

Definitely using that battle intro in the office tomorrow
9:31 Look at that exaggerated swagger of a witch king!
All ways love when you start a new series, feels like embarking on a new advendture 🙂
I'm excited! I've been wanting to play the Dark elves but I like to see someone else play them first so I at least have an idea of how to play them!

Misery for all

I always have to imagine that the Dark Elves have pretty broad doors. Or that Malekith is always stuck on doors.^^
That, or broken doorframes.
So. Many. Broken. Doorframes.
@@samuelevans738 Well, now I get Malekiths catchphrase. Misery for all... for all doorframes.^^
it's time for the whole world to become malekith's slave🤣

Love Malektihs big scorched nuts energy strut he does
Malekith doesn't have PTSD becose he is not a weakling and yes he is a villian but in the end he will redeem himselfs and avenge the death of his wife.
Unit name choas warrior (if u ever get an outpost there) vashnaars mercs
Still props for Gav Thorpes "The Sundering" novels....😎👍🖤
Is it time for Malekith to step into the fire, get burnt to a crisp before jumping out, crying for his mummy again?
*burn to a crisp before jumping out, crying for his mommy, and being the second most successful to walk through the fire.
Woo Dark Elf Phoenix King!
I would like to see an endgame scenario of lizards think it would be interesting
Love the graphics I can see the difference from the lizardmen campaign
Lets goooo new campaign!
Unit name black arc corsaurs : veterans of ind ( since falkhearth keeps blabbering over his trip to ind)

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that killing enemies after the battle has ended doesn't give extra slaves for either Chaos Dwarfs or Dark Elves.
Hmm, I'm getting conflicting information about this. I may have to actually test it at some point...
