    Have you had experience with Dean deep fryers ? Someone recommended that we get one instead of a frymaster ?

    I’ve got a fry master fryer pilot light stays on but only one if burner lights and other five won’t light. But they will if you light them direct. Staying on only for few seconds after lightning them all and goes out

    here in Austin I've found many "NG" fryers not working in food trucks because they've been connected to LP (liquid propane)!!! and the $350 NG valve is now busted. :(
    one time a fancy bbq outfit had me come to ACL to work on their 6 fryers they had brought there. all were NG! and all but one NG valve survived being connected to propane. plus labor, that single oversight cost them 450 times 5. very sad... hard to break the news to them that 5 valves were busted. :( if you have a food truck make sure your regulators and valves are up to spec. oh and account for airflow to your condenser on your refrigeration. A lot of food truck builders don't factor that in... you can route fan to pull air out or you can install an external vent on the side of food cart or you can pull that unit away from wall 4 to 6 inches... your choice.

    Our fryer always has an issue with turning on mostly when we change it’s oil. A repairman came and said all it needed was to be reset” but that never works and always started up randomly after a while it sometimes instantly. He mentioned maybe there was oil in the starter? No idea what it where that is.

    If the high limit is open (tripped) then the pilot should go out. Most electric fryers have a manual reset that must be pushed to close the switch, gas fryers will kill the pilot requiring the user to relight the pilot.
    If the oil is overheating, there are two most common problems: the thermostat is stuck closed, or the gas valve is stuck open (on gas fryers) or a contactor(s) is stuck closed (on electric fryers). I can't imagine a high limit causing an overheating issue as it's simply a fail safe to keep oil from overheating. A tripped high limit can cause an non-heating issue, however you'd know it was the high limit by either a) having to reset the switch constantly, or b) relight the pilot. Also in most situations, the oil simply won't heat at all.
    I'm not sure I'd recommend the end user to bypass the high limit, even as a test. Most people don't know what they are doing, and if you are facing a condition such as a runaway t-stat, coupled with a novice handman-cook jumping a high limit, and you could heat the oil to it's flash temperature which would cause big problems.

      Sounds like the thermopile is weak.

    thermostat is verry important in a fryer. they work as safety device in the system to protect the unit itself as well as the operators. they can be by pass for temporary to keep our fryers working. but my sudgestion is to replace it by the time you found it un accurate.

    • @randomrazr
      @randomrazr 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      how much of a difference should there be for the fryer to recycle? like say i set it 350, should it come back fireing again when it drops ot 330?

    • @TundraRestaurantSupplyBoulder
      @TundraRestaurantSupplyBoulder  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      That depends on the thermostat controlling the unit. Ideally, we wouldn't like to see it get that low, but it's subject to whatever the engineers designed it with.
