Remember the good old days when Pitco placed the Gas Thru thermostat on the left and the inlet tube they are describing in this particular video was inaccessibly really short and jammed against the side wall of the fryer. Or how about working on an old one that had the air adjustment shutter threaded onto the orifice so when you had to remove the burner for cleaning you couldn't get them off for all the grease built up in the threads. Now a days they make a model with exploding burners if not serviced regularly. Keeping up the tradition.

Sorry for the confusion...I noticed I put on the video the wrong IN and OUT arrows on the tstat. The left side is IN and the right side is OUT...my apologies.

I have an older Vulcan fryer with broken GS type thermostat. And I'm not sure of the combination valve. Should I replace original or is it better to use a newer system?

    Hi,
There is a slight gas leak from the lever under the plastic pilot knob, is it repairable?
Is there any seal which need to be replaced to stop leak?

I have blue Seal GT46. It is twin tank deep gas fryer with two separate vales. One side was working fine but the other one has issue with its pilot. The pilot was not staying on. As soon as I leave the pilot holding button, pilot goes off. I have swapped the thermocouple and thermopile of the working side to other but still the pilot did not stayed on. Then I swapped the both thermopile and thermocouple of faulty side to other side. These two items worked there fine. Then I thought that it the might be the issue is with high limit. I swapped the cables of high limits with each other. But bother fryer's pilots did not stay on, they were tripping as soon as I leave holding button. Therefore, I put the high limit cables to its original fryers but now both fryers' are not keeping the pilot stayed on? I have checked the connectivity of both high limit and they both showing connectivity. Please can you advise what's wrong with fryer specially why the first one has stopped working even though it was working fine before

Yes. This video was very helpful but I did have one question. I know he removes the hose that goes to the inlet of the thermostat. Is there gas flowing through the hose? Im confused at how this lights and kills the flame without being hooked up. Any help is much appreciated!

Jeremy, yes, you will have gas flowing out of the tube when you release your thumb. Don't leave this open for more than a few seconds. Your thumb is acting like the thermostat opening and closing. With your thumb over the tube, it acts like the tstat is closed and not calling for heat. When you release your thumb, it acts like the tstat is calling for heat and is open which allows the burners to turn on. If there are any leaks in this system, you will get a candle style flame at the orifice tips.

My Fryer will not shut off the gas when the heat reaches the correct temp. I have replaced all components, but can't figure out why it won't work. Is this a common symptom? After seeing this video, I will check all the new components that I just replaced. Thanks in Advance....Aloha.

Thank you for your video ! It helpful . May I have a question ???? I just replace the new pilot and thermostat but my problem is when I turn on the pilot all burner are burn while the thermostat off. Could you explain what happen ??? Thank you very much

Sorry for the delayed response. If burners are coming on with no call for heat, you have a bad gas valve or something not connected to the gas valve correctly and you are powering both the pilot and main valves at the same time. Always check gas pressures incoming to the valve. If incoming pressures are too high, this can damage the valve.

Once I light one fryer the second one shuts off. I can have the grill burning and one fryer. All brand new and it's on a food truck why would they not all burn simultaneously?

I have replaced all components in deep fryer it is not a pitco. but similar vulcan. gas. will shut down when temp is reached but have candle effect on all burners. causing oil go to high limit

Usually "candling" is caused by a gas valve that is not closing all the way. This is a symptom of a problem that needs to be found. You either have just a failed gas valve, and or, a situation of high gas pressure that is damaging the diaphragms of the gas valve not allowing them to close all the way. You could also be getting debris in the valve as well.

Any combustion issues should prompt a check of your gas pressures to the unit. If you are not trained on checking gas pressure, contact your local Pitco ASA for assistance. Visit www.pitco.com for a list of local ASA's.

do a simple check to see if there are no rubbish blocking the gas tubes & the pilot flame is burning at each side of gas camber.

We have a deep fryer that is making a lot foaming an foaming over. At Austin Creek Smokehouse in DeLeon, Texas. Why it would do that. please comment on my post or send me a message on Facebook book . Under Ryan Logan in DeLeon, Texas.

Foaming is usually caused by old or broken down oil that needs to be replaced. Or, you could have water in fry tank with the oil. Water will cause loud popping / crackling noises and possibly cause the oil to foam / boil up and spill over the fryer.
