Mica this video was soo amazing and insightful thank you so so much for it. I absolutely loved this format and getting a look into your training, thank you for taking the time to film all of this for us ❤
Thanks for sharing Mica! Appreciate your honesty about having weeks where recovery is just not optimal. It is encouraging to me as an average runner to know that even people at your level have weeks and workouts that are just harder and not what we want them to be! Thanks :)
Dr. Jack Daniels mentions in his book "when in doubt, undertrain." No shame in cutting a session short or skipping a workout when you're not fully recovered. Your post-video race results show your approach was a wise one! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Mica! Absolutely love your videos. As a sophomore in hs trying to compete well in the upcoming XC season you are truly such an inspiration for my training. Watching you do such difficult work while keeping it real as well as positive has been such a refresher, as running is no easy feat and it's easy to get down on yourself when it feels like your results don't match the effort you've put in. Insanely proud of you and I can't wait for this account to gain 100k+ followers because you deserve it!!!
This video is sooooo good, love the advice on building up and finding what works you as a runner! Loved the video format and can't wait to watch more of your videos! Keep it up:)
After 12 weeks averaging 67 miles you were probably a bit fried and did the right thing taking it easy. The way you bounced back for the long run was a good sign.
my favorite way to track sleep is with my ultrahuman ring -- might be nice for yall to track your sleep and recovery! I do use my watch sometimes too but the ultrahuman is leaps and bounds better
i love you videos and adam’s! i watch you guys every time you post! is there any tips you have for someone who has taken a break from running and leading towards XC? love the video! you inspire me!😊
build up your mileage slowly each week until you hit your target mileage! and adding a few cross training sessions could be helpful to add volume in without all the pounding on your legs. goodluck this season!!
@@micawood omg i can’t believe u responded back to me! omg thank you so much. i totally appreciate it ❣️❣️. i hope you do well in peru and can’t wait to see how it goes for you!
Battery on the Pace 3 is no joke. I’ve had it since December and it’s been great. Even through the warmer months where I increase my mileage I might have to charge it one extra time a month.
In all honesty I feel the little soreness or fatigue is good .. Its a sign that the muscle is strong and adapted for the road running, The few times i took more than 2 days of.. amd run . My body actually hurts here and there throughout the run. I would sometimes feel more sore too
just be lucky…. I ran for 50 miles one week and got a hairline fracture on the back of my foot so I either have no luck or I’m just not built for running
U have to slowly build that milage overtime .. it will take months, even a few years Nobody can't just increase their milage drastically , even the pros . I used to peak out at 40 miles weekly, for about 2 months as I was running about 20-25 miles prior Went to a physiotherapist and was told Im showing signs of getting shin splints So I back of and decided to run more on treadmill, only running workouts and long runs on roads Now I devise a plan to go back to road .. but that will take at least a year again I'm gonna peak my weekly milage at about. 80-90 this same way I said prior .. and start to gradually pit in back road runs .. monitoring my calves in the process .. When thats done .. I'll start to increase my pace for easy runs whilst checking and monitoring my calves Hopefully this plan works 🤞
Very important you increase mileage safely There’s absolutely no rush so just increase as you see comfortable, my coach kept me at the same mileage for weeks before slowly increasing it and I never get injured. I should also prentives and resistance training is very important. Currently I’m at 55-60 weeks training for marathon in October 👍🏽
Mica: I have a naturally higher heart rate, I dunno if anyone else can relate. Me, whose heart rate is 175+ (via Coros armband) when I'm running at a conversational, "I can do this all day" pace 👁️👄👁️
@10:09 2hrs of REM and 1 hr of deep with a total of 7 1/2 hours sleep is 100% ample enough .............. who are you listening to if you think that is not enough....... or are you just looking for excuses? its a perfect amount with enough deep sleep for recovery and growth. On a positive note this is the first time I've seen you and yr video and I thought it was fantastic, really brilliantly done. Good luck in yr last 5K race and enjoy it and take a day off soon :-)
Rule is simple. Mica or Adam uploads and I get my food to watch. Great workouts!
thank you!! we love watching youtube while eating!
“At some point you just have to start” as a former sprinter I just felt that in my soul 😂😂 no matter how many workouts starting never gets easier
dude frr
In your “off” season we need a video about how you keep your hair so nice while running so much!

here for the process, the fast times, and the medals. not here for the looks. so, good vid for me:)
I'm living that 10k but I've learned to love our 600 workouts, but we do ours in a dirt road.
that’s impressive!!

Are you supposed to train in super shoes? Do they benefit your training if you do?

@@dorianrodriguez6832 hell yeah good luck! If I didn’t get a stress fracture I would’ve been right there….
You have to build up slowly. If you don’t you will get destroyed,
What armband hr monitor do you use?
Do you keep the bluetooth on or turn it on when syncing your runs? I find my garmin dies insanely quick when I keep the Bluetooth on.
i had that same problem when before! thats why coros is king for me bc i can just keep it on and it lasts up to two weeks
How often do you recommend doing a hill workout? Or is it even necessary?
ahhh I wish I got seven and a half hours of sleep on the days I get a bad sleep, thats my good sleep
Are you going to ATEEZ’s concert this Saturday? Since we’ll be in LA at the same time
omg no! but my sister is going when they perform in pheonix haha
@@micawood how much longer are you gonna be in La? They’re also performing at BMO tomorrow!!
do you do any weight/gym workouts
She doesn’t look like she lifts. Adam filmed himself at the gym a few times
She’s a pro she definitely has to do at least 1 lower and core sesh minimum
Dude I literally answered before I watched the video but Adam mentions it @2:00
He says “we also lifted legs yesterday “
So what are your day jobs?
