Just have to say about the burning river thing, the Cuyahoga River was so polluted with industrial waste/runoff that it would genuinely just burst into flames on occasion. If memory serves it got so bad that it was a stated reason for why the EPA formed and Cleveland even elected a mayor that had cleaning up the river as a major campaign promise. A few years back the levels of pollution were finally low enough that fish caught in the river were fit/safe for human consumption. It took like fifty years to clean it up...
On the topic of games causing riots, the city of Vancouver was in a full riot, cars burning, looters, tear gas, the full 9 yards. It was supposedly caused by the stanley cup final loss in 2011
13:19 Even though nobody was hit, in 1995, the Los Angeles Dodgers (the LA baseball team that actually plays in LA) had a giveaway of actual baseballs, not foam ones or novelty, for a game against the St. Louis Cardinals (my favorite team). The fans disagreed with two calls, one in the seventh and one in the ninth, and both times threw the baseballs onto the field. The umpires then called an automatic forfeit for the Cardinals, which is also the most recent forfeit in MLB. MLB also said that for any new giveaways of any throwable object was to be given out as the fans were exiting the stadium. Bobbleheads were excluded.
I used to go to $5 baseball games where the hotdogs, beer and soda were $.50. It was amazing when I was a growing boy who could scarf down 6 hotdogs with ease. My parents loved it. They drank beer and let me run around the entire stadium without worrying about me at all. Times have changed.
I remember when basketball games in the playoffs was like a life or death battle in the court a long time ago. Legit people just pushing, shoving each other, and on purpose tripping. Legit if you were the star player of your team, you have to defend yourself to make it through the game and not get too injured to be out for that season. NBA now is much less aggressive and players actually just play the game for the most part.
in the last 10 or so years sports in the USA have started to fall off. but up till then you had riots for baseball, basket ball (not as much) and football where the had to bring out riot police and the hoses, and in some countries when it comes to soccer they can have to the point ppl are killing each other in the streets, but 10-15 years ago video games "sports" took over and so the rioting is all chat based now, so riots still happen but its all in twitch chat. also.... she knew what she was doing making that little thing her into.. makes me want to click just to see it...fuck its adorable
and if you want proof its not just the beer, nascar fans dont riot,, thats a thing where you only watch it to drink fore 5 hours straight and still no one will riot,,, drive around shooting off guns after while hooting and hollering yes,, but not at any one.. all deaths are a result of not understanding gravity exists
9:43 Football fights in the stands might be sparse. They're not like Soccer fights in the stands where the entire stadium does battle with itself. Fights in US sporting events are not that common even in the times you mentioned. 80's and 90's may have been bad for performance enhancing drugs in baseball though; not for fights in or riots to my memory.
If you want to tackle some more sports-related content, I would suggest Jon Bois (one of the most react-worthy videos would be _"Pretty Good: The Dumbest Boy Alive")_ or EmpLemon (his longform videos like _"There will Never, EVER be another Driver like Dale Earnhardt Junior"_ and _Revenge in NASCAR_ are also pretty decent).
Fanaticism is based. Sports fanatics are not most based but they're right up there. Ultras are so fun ! Hope to see e-sports ultras fighting each other at a live event.
I tried Raid, somehow it was worse than basically every other gacha game I've ever played, so even in the cesspool that is the phone game character collector game scene Raid is bad.
Man... Why do people hate Raid SL so much? It looks like any other garbage mobile auto-battle game, but I only see people complaining about this game... It just seems like an exaggerated reaction.
1974, everyone was broke, mad at Nixon & the Vietnam War was still going on.
It's fair to say people were stressed af.
Great to see big boss finally made it on your radar. His videos are honestly all really good and I recommend them all.
Mans uploads as often as IH but without the side channels :(
@@ectothermic As long as it is always quality content there should be no complaints
@@mixednarwhal Oh totally.
It's just the content consumer in me wanting more content so I can avoid reality as much as possible :)

Good grief

That is terrifying
I remember that. Canadians can get crazy.
Damn this video just tells me how we used to be a country 😢

I don't know if big boss has covered it, but look up a similar event from 1979 in Chicago called "Disco Demolition Night"
8:49 It was at this time that I looked back to the video after taking care of a mess that I now see she has become a cat

It's certainly sad to see that change

Smugalana: “lessons from history is just figuring out what not to do”
History: let’s do it again 22:50
I think they stopped after the second time. Too much losses from damages.
@@dubuyajay9964 😂😂😂😂😂

I think Austria learned that lesson after being the source of two global conflicts lol@@dubuyajay9964

Soccer even sparked a war in central America once.
The Arab spring was also created because of a soccer riot
God this is a sight of berserk feral humans
Two large groups of people, with opposing opinions, and a shitload of alcohol, what could possibly go wrong...
In 2024, 10 cents won't even buy you a picture of a beer.
The second ten cent beer night had a hard cap on how many beers you could buy and way more security.
TenCent beer night. Imagine Tencent doing a similar event for one of the games they invest in.

As soon as i heard they slashed the price of beer at games i knew where it was going without looking at the title.
Also, gour cat modelia amazing
3:08 actual face reveal!
Shit, id be fine with riots every week as long as the booze was cheap.
Id be fine with riots every week if it was for sports and kept to the stadiums. Those were better days. A decade before my time but still.
you dont mess with FREIBIER (or well... very cheap beer in this case)
The 70s sound AWESOME!
Next up, the Serbia vs Albania football match. ^^'
I'm from Cleveland and the riot over sports is so Cleveland behavior
Good ol Cleveland, kinda makes sense that bottlegate happened during the Browns Jaguars game. I love my Cleveland teams😂😂😂😂
Best baseball game ever. The simpsons did a parody on this game.
this is every other football cup match in europe
Most normal baseball game
You should watch "The Warriors" after this. XD
One of his best.

Urinatingtree is also good if you want a more brutally honest take on the sports world.
Somebody in chat said something like "this is one of the reasons I avoid sports events". Yes things that happened 50 years ago terrify me too.
next do the guy who pitched a no hitter with a head full of acid

You can look it up online for why.
I won't explain because I never played it (didn't interest me) and I'd rather you see for yourself.
