It was equivalent to about 6mo average salary of the time, correct? That's the only reason they had to push the Hughes amendment through. It's interesting that "chilling" a market with laws is ruled unconstitutional, but the ATF says on its own website the NFA was meant to discourage purchase of certain weapons/ accessories
@@VapidSlug the US was on the gold standard at $25 per oz. So the $200 was equivalent to 8 oz of gold. Gold currently sells for $2605 an oz, so it would be approximately $10420 in today's money. Armed Scholar is one of those people at the party that talk to you for the soul purpose of convincing you how smart they are. Bro im just trying to play beer pong, not talk about religion and politics.
Meanwhile here in WA, we were a completely gun friendly state just 5 short years ago. Now are down to 10 round mags, we cannot buy any fighting rifles at all. Not even an SKS. The best thing you can get is a non threaded Mini 14 with a 5 round magazine.
As a former WA resident, I fought all the new anti-2A laws as hard as I could, but they just kept passing one after another thanks to all the liberal special interest groups funding the initiatives. The writing’s on the wall my friend, WA is a lost cause just like CA, MD, DC, MA, IL, etc. I moved to a Red state and EVERYTHING is better, not just the 2A policies. You don’t realize how screwed up WA politics and people are until you leave and see what normal looks like.
bloomberg. you blame bloomberg. he's behind almost all of the west coast pushes, even the ones claiming to be 'organic' and 'grass roots'. he's dumped millions into local politics and activist groups, or just groups that weren't anti-gun but now are because they got paid to be so. you can trace the donations to either campaigns or the non-profits. some are from the man himself, and some are from his various groups. i believe the term being tossed around a few years or so ago was 'the western wall' or something similar.
Ive tried explaining this before and ill do it again. There is 0 political will to repeal the nfa. A majority of "pro 2a" people support the nfa, and Trump is at best as pro 2a as the NRA, at worst Reagan. The NFA isn't going anywhere, and the atf isn't getting defunded. Sorry to burst anyones bubble. Thanks for calling out armed scholar.
I also cant help but feel a certain way about the Hughes Amendment. I cant shake the feeling that people who currently own MGs would argue against repealing it since I'm sure more care more about their investment than their rights. Things like MG42s and Vickers would still be valuable, but a $50,000 MP5 would turn into a $5,000 MP5, and a $15,000 M16 would turn into a $3,000 collectable, _and_ PSA would start crapping out open-bolt toob guns like crazy.
@@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz you MAY be able to get suppressors and sbrs deregulated. Definitely not machineguns, the repeal of the hughes would cause immediate widespread outcry. But you are correct current owners of machineguns treat them as an investment, and most would lose 10s of thousands overnight
The AN94 is a machinegun and fires it's burst with one felt recoil impulse. Excellent engineering is search of a problem, like the H&K G11. Most US Army riflemen never use full auto, unlike most Soviet/Russian troops who seem to always "Pray and Spray". Full auto in the real world is for belt fed weapons.
There is very much a "can't stop us all" plan here. But unfortunately that requires coordination which we don't have. It also means some people get pinched.
exactly. We could take care of this in one day if only a couple of million armed citizens got together. Remember, there are only 2500 ATF agents and less than 10000 FBI agents. We could clean this country up in less than 24 hours, if you get my meaning. The government only understands one thing, and that’s force. If enough people show they are willing to use force, and do use force, then that group of people, I.e., the government, will quickly back down. They are beholden to us, not the other way around. We shouldn’t suffer a single ATF agent in our nation, especially after Waco, and all of the people whose rights they violate on a daily basis by merely existing. One person cannot do it. They will be going up against nigh unlimited resources. But they resources wont can’t for anything once you have enough people.
Victory cannot be achieved without sacrifice, and the less amount of Pussies we have, we'd have reached our goals a long time ago. Edit: I get it, no one wants to be pinched, not even myself, but if it means sacrificing my life for such a movement, even if it means I get 'terminated,' then so be it.
Free men don't ask - and they sure as fuck can't stop the signal. All I know is its kind of funny that the people who armed the taliban multiple times and gave the cartels weapons thinks it has a right to tell me what equipment I'm allowed to own to overthrow it.
@@theprojectproject01 and we have the right and duty to oppose them with force (if necessary) when they feel that they have the authority to violate our rights.
I'm really hoping that S.4825 is passed. In my opinion, suppressors shouldn't be a part of the NFA and it doesn't legally make sense for them to be restricted, no matter what angle you look at it from. Realistically the main danger at this point are rinos, VOTE IN YOUR LOCAL ELECTIONS.
Hearing the Australian father explain how his son with Asperger took the ATF raid had me livid. All I could do was imagine my own children being ripped away from myself or my wife and it just sparks anger in my soul.
The NFA has to be repealed by Congress, but the ATF can no longer interprete law because the supreme court ruled against the Chevron Deference. So 16 inch rifles are the limit, but the ATF can no longer say Chinese surplus 7.62x39 is illegal to import because they decided it's "armor piercing". A federal court or Congress would have to decide that now.
@christophernewton8474 The issue is that the ATF is very much playing a fast and loose “might makes right” strategy, and cashing in on the good faith of most “pro 2a” people, especially boomers, who actually aren’t as pro 2a as they think and really want convenience more than access to NFA items. When the ATF shows up with long guns, chest rigs / plates , and all masked faces, it’s very easy to forget they’re not law enforcement. They’re a department of treasury agency, and they’re killing and imprisoning people over $200 tax debts. Until people understand that aspect of it, that this tax agency is out there with the same weapons they’re killing and imprisoning people over, not for mere possession, but mere possession without paying $200… that they themselves don’t have to pay on those exact same weapons they show up ready to use … until people truly grasp that whole dynamic, it’s going to be difficult to get them to have a negative opinion, let alone political will to go against, what they perceive an elite law Enforcement agency
sadly laws are only as real as they are enforced. so if the atf wants to ban something, they effectively just have to attack and confiscate whatever it is they want gone, even if its technically illegal for them to do so, which they do constantly. like WHO is going to arrest the ATF for breaking the law?
That precedent depends upon whether and how congress delegates regulatory authority to the agency by statute. I hope I’m wrong, but I think relevant firearms legislation gives it pretty explicitly and broadly to the ATF. I don’t think we’ll see the judgments hoped for. This may explain why ATF has been so sloppy over the years compared with other regulators, ie writing sloppy contradictory opinions. They’ve known the statute supports them no matter what.
@@bryanhoell5886 yeah... but you have to do your own shimmy/filing down on internal components with the Super Safety. There's a sense of general laziness to install parts quickly and throw the firearm in the bag/locker/safe for a rainy day.

It's annoying that we only got the NFA due to echos of issues from prohibition. Government made problem with a government made solution. Terrible combo.
If you want something to disappear from your feed, you stop interacting with it at all, and it will go away. Doesn't matter of you're subscribed or not, notifications on or not, the algorithm trumps all that. So litteraly, you just have to have the strength to resist his infuriating click bait. It will go away i promise. I haven't seen anything from him in a while now. None of his updates match any of his click bait thumbnails, and if any major decision is made, there's plenty of other creators who will cover it, who aren't slapping you with senseless boring updates. Be strong bro, I believe in you. Resist the click bait💪😂
@TerranPlanetaryDefenseForce yeah that's still an interaction. Dislikes are also still an interaction. Interactions drive the algorithm. It shows engagement. Engagement is how they monetize. Therfore, any engagement, even if negative, is prioritized over neutral or non engagement. Unfortunately, negative "emotions" tend to make us react enough to interact with stuff for longer than something that generates positive "emotions." It's why all algorithms, regardless of source (legacy media, social media, search engines, etc) tend to sell us "bad" news more than good news, or why on facebook you always see the stuff you disagree with (litteraly spending more screen time on it). You don't see a profitable network called "Good News Media" that sells only good news, even if entertaining, people would tune out more than if it was all doom and gloom. I think it's scum who devalue their own product for easy cheap profit, who see no virtue in doing an honorable/honest take. Even if it's not good or something I agree with, I would value it more than this click bait era we live in. But it's all driven by algorithms. Litteral math equations that calculate what keeps you engaged. So your best weapon against things you don't like; not the dislike button, not scathing comments (even if intriguingly articulate and driving), not the ignore button, don't show me button, or block this button... no. Your very best weapon to have something disappear off your feed completely is to ignore something completely. No interaction. No screen time, no comment, no pause to digest the moment. Instant slide past it. If you've noticed specifically in shorts. A lot of creators will bait you in with other content on the thumbnail, and you won't know who the creator is until you're already into the video. The reason this tactic works, is because a lot of these creators would have entirely been skipped had you known what the creator was from the get go. Anyways I'm ranting for far too long, I just find this all fascinating, lol. Thanks for coming to my tedx 😅 .
To my knowledge (this is not legal advice), FRTs became legal due to rarebreed winning their case against the ATF. And now with the Supreme Court striking down the Chevron decision, the ATF can't just call random stuff machine guns.
Pushing harder. Suppressors and braves are the big one. For example. MA added a weight limit on pistol classifications, forcing you to sbr or be a felon in MA. Ontop of that. Suppressors flat out are banned. Cant pay the tax stamp for one. Imagine that. You can chop your barrel off only with permission but then can't add a toob which is the total point of shortening a rifle barrel. Hoping something is pushed so that EVERYONE follows the same laws of freedom states, which is federally complaint. No more preban mags. No more bans on anything I wanna spend my money on even with a tax stamps, and let my people have pistol braces.
I’ve been complaining about Armed Scholar clickbait for over a year. Thank you for calling out that clown. Truly a blight to the 2A community and the pursuit of truth/knowledge.
I should be able to buy what I want, when I want, from who I want with no restrictions or government presence. Capitalism means an open market and it should be that way for guns.
honestly I won't be really happy until I can defend my home without blowing my eardrums out and inducing permanent hearing damage and not have to worry about facing 30 years in prison for using a NFA item.
If you're licensed to use it, but you're found in the wrong for defending your life from a home invader, you can still go to prison under NFA law just because a suppressor was involved?
These FRT trigger companies need to have a travelling shop, kind of like a food truck, and send it around the country with a schedule so you can see when it's going to be in your town so folks can go buy the triggers with cash. At this point the only thing holding me back from getting one is no place locally to go buy one with cash. The feds seem most uptight about this kind of thing, and even as an owner of several NFA items this is the one thing I don't want to get put on a list for.
According to Tim Kennedy all of these items should be regulated harder dedddyyy……. “Civilians” don’t need them….😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 (just here to stir the pot) Gm by the way from Texas
I absolutely love your content and the insight you share. Your hard work truly shines through, and your videos are fantastic! You come across as such a down-to-earth person, just doing what we all enjoy-shooting and having a great time. Keep up the amazing work!
The three position FRT changed my life. I’m glad we three annoying boys were able to use our audience to force the price down; I purchased a second one I liked it so much. side note: I have three of those new SMS lasers and they’ve been solid so far. Except, mine seem dim? Are you getting 80k candela out of yours????
im even glad that the ban on felons possessing firearms is being peeled back. an armed society is a polite society, and every man has a right to self defense.
I doubt the Huges Amendment will ever be repealed - let alone the NFA, but hope is okay. I bought a Powder Springs MAC-10 on my 21st birthday, new in the box, for $375.00 + stamp. Now? They’re $10k or more. Insane. I bought a few more before the prices started to soar. Now? Dipping into the NFA waters is beyond my finances, or fiscal sensibility. My Hoffman Tactical SS? I’m in love. Thanks for the spark to my memory bank, to a much better time.
These rules suck, why do Americans abide by this crap? In Europe there’s no tax for a suppressor, which is ironic because when the Brits taxed your tea you rebelled for a lot less… wake up America.
Forced reset triggers don't reset the trigger manually. That's what YOU do with a semi-auto trigger when you let off the trigger. FR's do it automatically.
I could definitely see a near future where suppressors are treated the same as a handgun. Possibly where new Full Autos are allowed but are treated like SBRs
I'm glad Obama got rid of the CLEO sign of requirement for individuals. I know that was a massive roadblock for anyone with an anti gun locality. The fingerprints and passport photo requirement was annoying but at least that's something that can be easily done in an afternoon and not something that literally would force you to move cities if you wanted an NFA item.
It probably will in the next 10 years, they got greedy with their gun control using executive orders to push it, cause they did that it sent hordes of cases up the court pipeline fast tracking them to scotus because of this. So things like SBRs and Suppressors will likely be removed soon. There’s even several machine gun cases working their way up too. If you can get even a single item removed from it, the whole thing can be dismantled.
We really need an act of Congress that fixes the entire NFA thing and sets out what a "Dangerous and Unusual" weapon actually is, taking it away from rogue courts. Nuclear, Radiological Biological and Chemical weapons should make the list and be 100% banned. Likely disguised weapons should continue to be regulated as Any Other Weapons. Weapons over 40mm (because 40mm grenades are in common use) and energy weapons in excess of 6 million Joules could be unregulated, as should Fireworks and exploding ordnance containing under 1 ounce of explosives per projectile. Anything above these limits can be registered under the same $200 tax regime we have now. The real thing that needs to be eliminated is the Hughes Amendment that banned new machineguns for civilians and drove the price of existing guns into the stratosphere.
The only reason I never bought an FRT back in the day was because none of them had three positions. Delta Team Tactical shouldn't be the only player in town as far as new FRTs go, but here we are.
As always, if prices go down, buy more if budget allows. Never know when leadership may change, and lots of other countries are going gun-ban crazy, so buy them (relatively) cheap, stack 'em deep while stuff is available.
When the masses find ways to circumvent a law, it ceases to be a law of the people and becomes merely one imposed by politicians and their corrupt enforcers.

Focus bro you need to try Super Safeties. They are soooo much more reliable than FRTs . Check out deez nutz tactical but some quality D2 steel stuff not printed
@@horrorfan1978 I hope not. The cassette style ones are a much more reliable design. A super safety gets you in the door, but inherently isnt made to last. Its made to print fast and free. Great products at two different price points for a reason. I like the cassette style because it’s quick to remove and these things have limited use, I like the super safety because you have select fire and the price lets you be able to toss it in the trash if you want to. They are two different things with two different design motivations.

Meanwhile here in WA, we were a completely gun friendly state just 5 short years ago. Now are down to 10 round mags, we cannot buy any fighting rifles at all. Not even an SKS. The best thing you can get is a non threaded Mini 14 with a 5 round magazine.
That truly does suck. At the end of the day, we deserve everything we allow.
The best thing you can get in WA is across the border into Idaho where free men live.

I constantly comment on Armed Scholar trying to get people to realize the click bait stuff is garbage.

Trump is definitely more pro-2a this time around. He was walking on glass his last term, and now he has an avengers-esque team by his side.
@@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballz you MAY be able to get suppressors and sbrs deregulated. Definitely not machineguns, the repeal of the hughes would cause immediate widespread outcry.

What is this congress you speak of? (Sarcasm)
@christophernewton8474
The issue is that the ATF is very much playing a fast and loose “might makes right” strategy, and cashing in on the good faith of most “pro 2a” people, especially boomers, who actually aren’t as pro 2a as they think and really want convenience more than access to NFA items. When the ATF shows up with long guns, chest rigs / plates , and all masked faces, it’s very easy to forget they’re not law enforcement. They’re a department of treasury agency, and they’re killing and imprisoning people over $200 tax debts. Until people understand that aspect of it, that this tax agency is out there with the same weapons they’re killing and imprisoning people over, not for mere possession, but mere possession without paying $200… that they themselves don’t have to pay on those exact same weapons they show up ready to use … until people truly grasp that whole dynamic, it’s going to be difficult to get them to have a negative opinion, let alone political will to go against, what they perceive an elite law
Enforcement agency
sadly laws are only as real as they are enforced. so if the atf wants to ban something, they effectively just have to attack and confiscate whatever it is they want gone, even if its technically illegal for them to do so, which they do constantly. like WHO is going to arrest the ATF for breaking the law?
That precedent depends upon whether and how congress delegates regulatory authority to the agency by statute. I hope I’m wrong, but I think relevant firearms legislation gives it pretty explicitly and broadly to the ATF. I don’t think we’ll see the judgments hoped for. This may explain why ATF has been so sloppy over the years compared with other regulators, ie writing sloppy contradictory opinions. They’ve known the statute supports them no matter what.
I hope more companies come out with a 3 position frt that isn't over 500 dollars.

@@ChanceandChoice I don't watch the videos, I just click the "stop showing me this shit" options, but maybe doing that shows you more of it.

Sadly, the NFA isn't going anywhere.
Not right now. Maybe one day.
It isnt going anywhere all at once.
fpcs still eyeing it. needs a really solid base to attack from though.
