- We cant talk Spyderco Knives and not bring up the Manix 2. Due to popular demand in the comments section of the Para 3 video I decided it was time to talk shop on the Spyderco Manix 2. This seems to be one of everyones favorite alternatives to the Para 3 and its easy to see why. It just so happens to be that the Manix 2 was my first Spyderco years ago and since then it hasnt been my last.

Spyderco showed them a better of making the spring design on the lock mechanism.
Great video. This has been my favorite knife for years, have many different variants; except... I learned late in the game that my county has blade length limits (unlike the State), which make it a bit more dicey to EDC. Not the best in terms of -pocket real-estate for EDC either, I suppose, but that hasn't been the problem for me. Still a favorite knife, but only carried when I have specific uses in mind or am going to be traveling somewhere with more lax restrictions.
Hey man found your channel today and subscribed I agree with you on spyderco my favorite make of knife I am based in Ireland they are very hard to get hold of over here the blade shape is what attracted me to spyderco in the first place
The Manix2 is a significantly larger knife than the Para3. It’s more like an alternative to the PM2. A better alternative to the Para3 would be the Sage5 LW; which has a better action than any Para3, (and a more solid construction than the Para3 LW). 😉
Sal's an icon, and no doubt a genius, but my favorite Spyderco's tend to be the collabs(and the stories accompanying them); Hundred Pacer, K2, Amalgam...
Manix 2 is actually Eric Glessers design, btw. That's what the stylized E is for, by the Golden markings.
The only original part on my Manix 2 is the backspacer. Maxamet blade from a LW, RSD titanium liner delete scales, titanium ball cage, ceramic ball, titanium hardware, mxg clip.
My audio wasn't great in this one but at 50ish seconds in I thought I mentioned it was designed "not by Sal but by eric" ..I could see how my wording and the bad audio recording boggled that though😂. Your modified manix sounds awesome BTW, having already done scales and clips on my other spydercos it's only a matter of time for me! Thanks for the support! I appreciate the input

Totally my fault, I should have been listening better.
I posted a pic of the Manix on the official Spyderco forum a while ago. It's a pretty great knife, and Maxamet is awesome.
I've been testing out ASP60 recently, and it's really similar to Maxamet, but a bit softer (at least mine is) so it sharpens relatively easy.
Found your channel yesterday and its pretty great. I agree with basically everything I've watched so far. Hope you get the subs you deserve.
@@CNYKnifeNerd that means a lot!, my goal isnt subs but creating useful and enjoyable content, I figure if I can get that down the rest will come and ill be able to provide something useful to people that also enjoy this hobby, more content coming soon!
Good content but you might want to check your volume settings when recording, way too low and muffled sounding.
Good callout, I think the issue is that I have loud speakers in my office so 40% to me doesn't sound like 40% to everyone else
