    Well done. I can't believe how long it took for quality Star Destroyer kits to come along.

    Great work as always, Chris! I wish there was a better way to display Star Destroyers than putting a hole through the main reactor, lol.

    Hi Chris I have subscribed to your Chanel for a couple of years now and I have to say that when it comes to Star Wars kit builds on YT you are the absolute master.
    But this, is by far your finest work ever, I have seen just about every Star Destroyer build out there and you are the undisputed champion!
    This model is a shinning example of bringing out bandais Star Destroyer to it`s absolute fullest potential.

    I used Pledge on cheap single ply toilet paper as my diff-user paper. No cutting ...same result.
    Your finished piece looks Amazing. I want to go back and add those red light windows.

    Great build! And great ideas for mine when I get to it. Lol. One question though. Where do you get the diffusion paper? I looked it up and there are a lot of options. Thanks

    Excellent build! Do you have a problem with any of those LED's heating up and melting the model?

      No, not at all. They actually stay quite cool.

    Chris what type of diffusion paper do you recommend, can you add it to your Amazon storefront?

  • @bryanjohnson9884

    Hi Chris. Can I ask a question? Why did you feel the need to add that extra layer of styrene when you were lighting the upper section? Would it have also worked if you just put the Cobb LED’s down in the bottom section of the hull and let the light shine upwards into that upper section?

    • @modelsbychris
      @modelsbychris  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The LEDs were are not bright enough to just put in the lower section and let shine upwards into the upper. The way I did it bounced the light around and contained it in a smaller space of the upper section allowing for better and more even lighting.

    man thats some amazing work youve got there! now what do you think are the cons over this light diffusion tecnique vs. fiber optics? ive done fiber optics before but its just so much work... im thinking of trying this out.

    • @modelsbychris
      @modelsbychris  ปีที่แล้ว

      Fiber optic is certainly way more time consuming and difficult. The only advantage to fiber I guess, IMO, is it has a little more off axis viewing because of sticking out slightly from the kit. Even cutting flush, they're never really flush. It'd be extremely difficult to cut flush on this kit. It's so small and the little nooks where windows are located, i don't know how you'd cut them. I actually did do a test of fiber vs the way I did it, using 2 duplicate model pieces, and I honestly felt it looked better the way I did it.

    • @jayblanchard4477
      @jayblanchard4477 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@modelsbychris One thing you could do with fiber optics is to "mushroom" the end of the fiber with a heat source and then pull it through the hole and glue it in. The mushroomed end gives great off-axis viewing even on .25mm fiber. Extra work, to be sure, but works well where you cannot reach the ends of the fiber with a cutter after installation.
      Great work! 👍

      @@jayblanchard4477 I have done that as well a couple of times

    The engines didn't pulse like that in the movies. Unless there was a problem.
