Wish they would release these in EF so that they could be used on Ursa/ BM6k. I'm waiting on my last contax zeiss lens to come in then I will have a full set of 18, 21, 28, 35, 50, 85, 135 and cinemoded/converted to ef mounts. Great look, but I love the idea of these for quick / safe shoots.
I hear ya on waiting on the EF lenses, but production has been slow because of the coronavirus. It sounds like you got a hefty set! which are your go-to lenses?
Hello! I just bought a 50 mm SLR magic, but when I put it on my Fuji Xt4 it doesn't record. The image is perfect and also all the functions. I have tried with other lenses and it records normally. I don't know if you can help me to find out what the problem is. Thank you
Great question! 1. cine lenses provide proper gearing for follow focus and precise focusing with longer focus throws. 2 character, cine lenses vary when it comes to lens characteristics but cine lenses tent to look more organic vs digital video. Highlights aren't has harsh or as contrasty.

@@joshuamartinstudios I sold a bunch of vintage photo lenses because I was tired of their terrible T values and using them in a video ecosystem was a bit of a pain. I only kept my Sigma 18-35 (which I don't really like but it's versatile and good light gathering) and the Super Takumar 28 f3.5 (but gathers light like the sigma at f5.6) because of its rendering of colors. I will sell them both once I get my hands on a good set of Cine Lenses. It's hard to find something that is not overly expensive, has great colors and details rendition without being too clinical.
Yes I would agree - that's the route I'm moving towards. But not everyone sees the value of dropping $1500 on a lens. 🤷🏽♂️ especially a good one like the APO Microprimes
Yeah I suppose, smaller and lighter than the EF versions, but I think the versatility of an EF mount can't be beat. If you get a chance, it would be interesting to see a comparison against the very popular Rokinon/Samyang cine lenses. These seem to be the closest thing to the Microprimes.

Thanks for watching bro! I haven't tried the Meike lenses. But it really depends on the character that you want. Slr magic lenses have more character than meike. How it flares, blooms, bokeh, etc.

Hey! Great video, wanted to ask, does the lens communicate with the camera body since it's an X mount? Can I use focus peaking with these lenses on the xt 4?
Thanks for watching! and now it does not. there is no metadata for the lenses. what you can do is set the camera to read the proper focal length. and yes you can sent peaking once you switch to manual focus on the front of the camera.

Question is how do you define better? Meikes are more clinical in my opinion. SLR magic has personality. Yes the Microprimes for MFT and xmount cover super 35mm. The Emount and EF cover full frame

@@joshuamartinstudios Nah, you're good. This vid for the Microprimes came out right as the APO Microprimes were finally released (announced in Nov, of course), ergo I was just underscoring the potential confusion for folks who are new to SLR Magic's cine lens lineups.
I just realised halfway through that you're not going to tell us if these lenses hook up electronically with the bodies. You do have to remember there are still shooters looking at this.

Optical properties will be the same Sony E? How strong is the 12mm vignetting on a full frame?
Correct - as for as vignetting I don't remember if there is from my time with the lenses

Question: Does the SLR Magic 8mm f4 fit on the Xt3?
Unfortunately it does not. It's only a MFT lens. The widest lens SLR Magic has for fuji xmount is the 12mm! I've made test footage of it!
So I'm assuming the field of view changes on Fuji can you focus them by hand or can you only use a follow Focus
I don't understand your question but you can focus the lens by hand or follow focus...

The meike line is a good lens. but there are some major characteristics difference like flaring, sharpness, and color. I hope to do a comparison soon.
