$550 here too at a PA gun show. I was shocked to see out there. I was there too buy a Dirac camo, but grabbed this when I saw it. It’s actually pretty awesome, very happy with this one.
I’ve never had an OTF knife but of course always wanted one. I seen it through a Facebook add for $59 and of course wasn’t sure how good it would be since other high end OTF’s are big bucks! I ordered the exact Glykon you are showing here last week, 7-7-2023, and can’t wait to get it. Thanks for the review!👍
I saw it on fb too. Please let us know how the fake one is built. My first counterfeit knife purchased on Alliexpress was a knock off of Spyderco a Paramilitary. It’s identical to me and since it was so inexpensive I don’t mind beating it up. China is good at making fakes (Rolex’s, knives).
I bought a Glykon and troodon replica for $70 Canadian shipping included and no lie the knifes are great both have never failed
Got the one on fb last week and it is actually a decent copy !!! No complaints on this knife !!! Doesn't even rattle like the real one does, open or closed !!!
Really looking forward to getting one of these as well! The Combat Troodon and Scarab II have become my favorites in the Microtech lineup but I suspect that might change if I can get my hands on one of these. Thanks for the thorough video 👍🏼
Ah Damn! I pride myself on not being an envious kind of person, But you really make it a challenge! Just kidding It's great to see someone with not just as much passion for knives but maybe even more so then myself, And you actually are fortunate enough to have all the best knives worth having! Its nice to know I can always get an honest opinion by someone that really knows knives, It helps me make those hard desicions whenever they surface, Which is all the time, I think maybe the only thing that Im just a tad more passionate about would probably be firearms! Man their always comming out with great stuff, But thats awesome you got No.18! Microtech, Benchmade and all the other big knife companies ought to be giving you a lot of these for the free publicity and cause anyone that knows anything can see you know what your talking about, And I for one do feel like we get honest opinions from your channel, I guess thats one thing about sponsors people start thinking that their getting bias opions when it comes time to review a sponsors new product! All the more reason for them all to want to sponsor the channel though right? Anyhow congradulations on the Glykon, I already know itll be my next purchase after a couple more months of saving up, I just barely was able to finally get a halo VI and they been out for what? Almost 10 years now? But fortunately works picked up the last few years so maybe next month Ill be able to swing a Glykon, All my toy collecting had to be put on hold back in 07 for several years cause my line of work really suffered when that ression hit, But thank God thats all in the past and Slowly but surely my collection has continued to grow, But after seeing your video of your collection I just realized I dont have squat! I love the spartan blade. Yeah, there's 4 edges to keep sharp, but that's good cause you can keep one side for soft material and the other side for edc tasks
I have always been a Chris Reeve fan and still am and do not have an OTF but this is incredible and can’t wait to get mine!
The Glykon is pretty cool looking, I purchased a H&K mini incursion and it’s perfect as a edc out the front. I’m a Benchmade guy and it’s seems to be better quality then my H&K Turmoil from when benchmade had the contact.

I had a Marfione Custom Two-Tone Stonewash Hefted Black Alloy w/ Stonewash Ti Accents. Nice design, but it was very difficult to retract. More than I’ve ever experienced with a MT or Marfione Custom. I returned it. Also, the Declaration of Authenticity wae not signed by Anthony and Sean Marfione. Every Marfione Custom I’ve handled has been signed (or stamped). I’ll take a Hawk Deadlock any day of the week.
I usually don't push down the back of my blades I push on the back of the knife handle, same with my Microtech I never had any desire to push on the back of the blade. I push on the back of the handle or the button. lol
Very nice. I’ve been waiting to see a video on one of these. When I saw those on KnifeCenter for $1400, I lost complete interest until you showed this one.

@@woolee4400 Befor this production release they did a signature series release that was 1400. Which is normal, but the weird thing is they are the exact same minus the signature on the clip. Usually the signature line has carbon fiber, damascus, or limited finishes

How do I store an otf knife for years do I have to loosen the blade so somewhere against bounce so the blade or do I have to separate the spring?
If it's a DA just leave it be. If it's a SA store it with the blade out

I'd like a little more Information about your automatic knives and some pricing I once had a German military switchblade that got stolen I once had over 250 knives but the were either stolen or lost in my house fire 9 years ago now only knives I'm going to collect are a few automatics

my Troodon is from 10/2014 and #12467, my ultratech is from 4/2015 and #55375.
I've got a 2019 ultra tech serial# 152,769 I think it's since the first one..I know their signature series have their own numbers I've got a #15 jade and DLC Also have a #456 CT CF not 100 sure though But l think that's how it works 👊🏼

The only thing I like about it is that there is no glass-breaker to jab me in my leg. I really wish many OTFs would lose the glass-breakers, or at least have a delete option. Also, get rid of the holes in the blades, they just get gunked up with stuff.

It would be if it was 1400 like people are saying bugs it’s actually 550. For a premium otf of this size it’s actually pretty good. It has titanium in the backspaced and covers and used m390 steel for the blade. Late otfs like the Dirac delta, combat Troodon and infidel all are pretty similar in price
@@nicholasbutler2365 Ahh see I didn’t know there was two versions of the knife already out, when I made the comment the only one I was seeing was the signature series glykon for $1,430 but it looks like there’s a second version of this knife going for $500. That’s pretty reasonable price for a killer knife! I’ve actually never had an m390 steel blade so if I decided to go ahead and get it I think it would be a pretty good investment
Seems like a novelty. I don’t get the need for so many actuation buttons? Prefer to see innovation in blade play, lock up and durability.

Nice. I might need to get back into the knife world. I still have a crazy collection. Microtechs haven’t ever impressed me. And they have always been extremely hard to open and close.
I just got back into knives with a couple Microtech's after a hiatus. I tried the utx70, Troodon, Dirac and Hera. The Troodon action was way too stiff but all the others are really nice. I have a Recon 035 on the way and I'll probably stop my collection there until I go on an axe or fixed blade kick next time I get bored.

@@GettinEdgy I can only speak to the Glykon I had which didn't rattle. The Diracs don't seem to rattle much, all of the side mounted ones seem to usually rattle quite a bit

Finally! A microtec OTF I can get behind. I've never understood the hype, let alone been able to justify the PRICE of microtec OTF'S. They are really good at anything but being fun to play with. It's the least sturdy and versatile of any kind of knife. This thing is SWEET though.
The torture tests you can find all over youtube will prove your misinformation false
@@KB-kw8ni You can't tell me that an OTF locks up stronger than a folding knife. I'm sure they're making them as strong as possible(they still wiggle) and it's more the practicality and price that doesn't make sense. We're talking about a 3" blade that comes in 3-4 blade shapes...all of which are super thin from spine to edge...and thickness...and vary only in finishes and colors. It's the same square box with a letter opener that's sharp instead of dull, and while a basic one starts at $250 dollars, they go into the thousands just because of collectability. All Marfione has to do is put numbers on the blade and stop at 25, and PRESTO. A $900 knife, no better quality than his $350 variety. This one I would buy because it's a size where it's starting to become useful for it's truly intended purpose: Penetration of human tissue...and it's way cooler and different from the standard OTF. I love his Recon series and there's plenty of ProTec's that are great. I have nothing against auto knives or even assisted knives. It's coffin handled, sharpened letter opener I don't understand. When I look at something like a Hinderer or a custom knives like TKell for something more tactical, it's a no brainer. But, I digress. If you're in it for collectability and cool/fun factor, and don't mind spending an average American's nearly week's pay, to each their own.

My only issue with the Glycon is the firing switch wiggle when closed.
I don't see the reason for the outrageous prices. It's just overpriced pocket jewelry. It's about as useful as a soup sandwich.

Well. A little more useful than a soup sandwich lol. I like them for small cutting tasks, which is what I edc for. If I need to break down boxes, I use a box cutter. If I need a prybar, I use a primary, hammer? I use a hammer

I have carried a Microtech ultratech for 2-3 years now and have treated it like any other knife. Beat the crap out of it. Some times the action will get gummy and I’ll have to blow it out but that’s it they’re quality knives.

I know they have a marfione one but its this signature series I am seeing at $1,400, ridiculous. Just my opinion though.

MSRP. So 580. Basically. I had to package it with an ultratech to get it, so 900 total. You could argue I would not have bought the Ultratech alone and resale is terrible, so one could argue I overpaid.
