Chrollo is top tier, one of my fav characters
For sure. Such a well written and complex character
"Maybe Uvoguin was the death" Yeah that's why Chrollo is crying .The troupe has been assuming Uvo was dead but they didn't *know* that for sure. The prophecy is the first actual confirmation that he did indeed die, so Chrollo is now in grieving mode. Even if he never spoke about it, until then Chrollo still held hope.
Love how the ending plays, but the music doesn't change and continues the dark music of Chrollo's requiem. Truly chilling 🔥
13:43 "Armin just smiling along" 💀💀💀💀
The music during the massacre was Lacrimosa from Mozart's Requiem. The composer of HxH's OST, Yoshihisa Hirano writes a lot of classical music references into his score, but in this case it seems like he decided that only the real deal would do. But he did write the track that plays through the credits, it's called "Riot" and the text the choir is singing is Dies Irae, which is part of the traditional requiem text.
One of the most iconic moments in anime.
Yes! This episode has such an iconic scene!
This is one of those single episodes that transcends the "episode" format,, the whole thing is a masterpiece
6:42 LMAO UR FACE HERE- That was my face too!
This scene altered my brain chemistry. It was touching in a way how the requiem represented Uvogin’s wild and brute force type of personality which was portrayed by all the members as a sign of respect for him. The anime makes these characters have so much layers that you have to love them
This is my personal favorite episode.
It's so terrifying, and so dissonant to other parts of the show, it sets a tone that will not be forgotten soon.
The world of the hunter x hunter nerative will never be the same.
One of my favorite scenes of any media
I love this episode, it just get better and better. My favorite Arc
6:42 Goodwin’s face contorting in one of the most visceral displays of shock I’ve ever seen from him. His verbal reaction: ruh roh.
The fortune for Uvogin making Chrollo cry is what made him likable for me. Good to see he cares about his people, shows there’s not just black and white/good and bad in this show.
I mean there's definitely good and evil, but good can be callous and evil can be caring. No matter how you twist things, the troupe is evil. I know there has been some sort of trend where people try to explain that everything the troupe does had a justification (SPOILER)

including the Kuruta massacre but Feitan and Phinks have on qualm murdering GI players who are just playing the game normally or even the bodyguards that protected Greed Island itself. And remember that this version of Greed Island was from the official auction, not the mafia auction, meaning the bodyguards were just normal people doing their jobs, not mafia members. The troupe doesn't give a shit about innocents.
And as for the Kuruta massacre, even if Kurapika's clan did do something evil to Sheila for example, that doesn't justify the genocide. Children of the clan didn't do anything wrong. The troupe is 100% evil. But they're interesting evil.
@@Arkayjiyayeah I like this interpretation more. The troupe is not a criminals with hearts of gold type of group. They care about each other and that’s it
The Phantom Troupe has always been my favourite villain group, they are killers and thieves, but still they undoubtedly care about each other in the most sincere way. They know they are not good people even though I wouldn’t describe them as bad bad people either.
I think bad bad is what I would call them(or evil), considering they murdered the Kurta among other people.
They're absolutely bad people. Like it's not even remotely close. They're unrepentant murderers. It's easy to forget with the excuses that are being made (OBVIOUS SPOILERS)

("they're only killing mafia members" or "the Kuruta Clan probably did something evil" or even "But they're defending their hometown") but they don't give a single fuck about innocents or anyone in their path. You think little children and babies in the Kuruta clan did something evil too? The troupe kill not only for self-preservation but for convenience. Feitan and Phink had no need to kill the innocent bodyguards protecting Greed Island? And those were not mafia members, they were just innocent people doing their job. But they killed them just because they wanted to play the game on a fancy.
The troupe are horrible people. They're very likeable horrible people but still horrible people.
@@sdog1234 yeah they did it, but we still don’t know the real reason behind it, if you read the manga you should know there are some shady things related to the Kurta
@@jorgepintogonzalez4518 Does anything excuse killing children?
@@sdog1234 No of course not but the situation clearly may have been more complicated than Kurapika had any knowledge of. I mean regardless the Phantom Troupe are mass murderers anyway, even if you don't include the Kurta massacre
Ah yes, finally, the requiem that inspired the requiem for Himeno in Chainsaw Man
My second favorite scene in the whole of the anime played today- the requiem.
Not a spoiler but the Requiem which is so brutal and terrifying... Is instead just sad after learning more about them in the manga. I hope one day we'll get a continuation to Hunter X Hunter as so much of what we see in the story now will hit differently. One of rhe most iconic Hunter X Hunter scenes just became even more iconic
What do you mean?
Also very curious!
@@danieloliphant9969the manga delves into chrollo's backstory which gives more insight into the emotional weight of the requiem!
@@AGoodwinTVafter the anime ends the story continues in the manga and we get the origins of the phantom troupe and how they became what they are now also why they are so loyal to the phantom troupe but so detached from anything else.
@danieloliphant9969 Well, since you asked, I'll explain what happened, but these are some massive manga spoilers, so here's the warning. @AGoodwinTV, please do not scroll down and read the rest of this comment. It has massive spoilers in the manga, and it would be best to not look unless you intend on reading the manga yourself one day. ⚠️SPOILER ⚠️
When they were young, the Troupe used to be just a group of friendly in Meteor City. One day one of their dearest friends went missing, Chrollo being as smart as he is could only fear the worse and days later as the Troupe searched for their friend they discovered that she was kidnapped and brutally murdered in one of the most horrific ways with Chrollo finding her mangled body in a sack with a note in it. Uvo asked Chrollo what was written on the note, but Chrollo said he would never tell anyone and take the words to his grave. After this moment, Chrollo founded the Phantom Troupe with the purpose of discovering the culprit who murdered their friend and left them in that sack. They chose to turn Meteor City into a cesspool for criminals to lure the target there so that they could get revenge. By doing so, the Troupe spent hundreds, if not thousands of hours, witnessing the brutal and horrific crimes of these awful people to try and find a one who killed their friend. This desensitized all of the Troupe members to murder and violence. That's the origin of the Phantom Troupe. One group of innocent friends turned into brutal villains because of their desire to avenge their friend who was kidnapped and murdered.
who thinks of stuff like this? the floating Nen fish that eat you alive? the musical composition? Chrollo conducting the symphony of it all, reciting the fortune like poetry? beautiful and haunting and horrifying and full of heartache. Togashi is a mad genius. the animation studio absolutely crushed it on this show.
may the 11th moon rest up in heaven.
keep killing it bae!
You should take quiz to see what your nen type is!!
