    For an explanation on why gon was so mad was because Kite was the closest thing he had to a father. In the manga kite was the reason why Gon went on this journey. He was the one that told Gon that his father was alive and that he is a hunter.

      Noooo.... Well yes but It's not just because he is kite , Gon growing in an island with merciless wildlife suffering from abondment issues (the old version did a better job in showing this) and never leaving the island, not understanding how the world really works. He got really questionable morality, as he is still a immature child he judges people based on whether he likes them or not whether they are useful to him or not no matter how bad the person's deeds is. And the biggest thing is he never experienced proper lose before unlike other characters who are already familiar with the harsh world. All these eventually lead to Gon's vow transformation. It's truly tragic for a child sacrificing all his future potential just to get some revenge.

    My favorite episode. It's the ending of so many ideas and concept of HxH and Nen. It does not give us what we expected (a fight with Pitou) but a straight up MURDER.
    Gon is not enraged. Gon is in a state of deep despair.
    He sacrificed his life, his Nen, his potential to achieve his goal. He was not betting on it, he was giving it up. He didnt care anymore. He basically said to his Nen "I want to die, juste give me everything I could have ever been for a moment, for a single goal."
    It's also the meaning of Phinks (Blonde Phantom troupe member) words in Yorkshin City : killing Kurapika is useless as Nen subsist after death. Pitou's devotion to protect the King was so great that even after death, her ability made her move to fight.

    People misunderstand this "fight." Gon grew because he made a nen vow."i dont care if this is the end...so I'll use everything. " what he means is that he will use all the power he would ever have. Gon essentially threw away the potential he had in order to gain the power he would have had if he was able to achieve the limits of his potential now, for the sole purpose of killing pitou. His body grows into a vessal that can hold the sudden and enormous growth in nen without simply exploding like his child body would have, his nen responded to his vow and brought his body and nen to a point that matched his vow. every time gon uses his janken while in this state he is killing himself. I say people misunderstand this fight because it is not hype. This is not a good thing. What gon is doing here is throwing his life and nen away out of sheer anger, despair, and confusion. That is why there is no hype music, no hype building, the music is ominous, and at times, heartbreaking during this fight because of the ramifications of what gon has done here. That is why killua looks so devastated when he wonders what gon paid to achieve this power. Nen operates with equal exchange. If you want power, then your nen will extract an equivalent price from you. Considering just how powerful gon became, then you can only imagine the price he must pay. I will not spoil anything for you, and i can not wait for you to see the aftermath of this. Keep up the good work man your reactions are top-notch. In the manga pitou says "i was right, may even reach the king" she implies hes strong enough to be a threat to the king not that he was equal but the anime fuged this line up. Also the restriction gon placed on himself is a spoiler so i hope no one says anything to spoil it for you.

    • @VirtusCorvus
      @VirtusCorvus 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      People also misunderstand the "Nen Vow" or the "Nen Contract". The contract or vow isn't a thing you deliberately sign or do. You are simply taking advantage of what Nen works upon. The strength of your raw Nen power is based on your willpower. The stronger your willpower the more willing you'd be to put a more demanding condition. We all know the more demanding the condition is the stronger the outcome.
      Contracts like this are used in real life. They aren't "Nen" contracts but the purpose and structure of the literal contract is similar. One might use a contract to endure, or potentially gain strength. This of course only works if your willpower is true. These techniques are used to access a version of yourself that is capable of a certain goal or need that your normal self isn't. They work similarly to adrenaline. Through adrenaline your body redirects blood flow to your muscles ready to take action, your airways become dilated, and your senses are sharpened. Adrenaline may help you with a goal or help you survive. These mental contracts have a similar goal in mind.
      An example of one of these mental contracts would be imagining a family member, friend, or loved one in trouble in hopes to either be in a better mindset for the scenario or achieve results of adrenaline. The mental processing would essentially be like "If I don't complete this task my cat dies." It seems silly, but if you truly believe this or are driven by enough willpower it's common to find a legit result. Not all contracts have to be this intense of course, it could be something as light as "If I don't get this task done, I'm going to force myself to do 200 pushups." If you believe the condition is real it can help one achieve motivation, endurance, and a better mindset for the task.
      The reason Gon was able to achieve such heights was because of his willpower to do so. Gon's personality also helps as he is a straightforward and determined person. He was willing to use everything and give it all up to achieve a goal. This also applies to Kurapika. Kurapika's willpower was also incredibly strong, derived from his hate and vengence for the Phantom Troupe.
      My point is not everyone could simply make a contract and receive the full results, if not none at all. You have to have the will to take full advantage of these contracts. This proved to be true and a consistent understanding on these Nen contracts because of the low amount of usage over them. If it didn't require such a high willpower than in any scenario one could make a contract easily. Someone like Neferpitou would 100% make a Nen contract to stop Gon and protect the King, but why didn't they? There are many theories on this such as the level of physiological arousal activating the "fight or flight" response when Pitou saw Adult Gon ending in Pitou never being able to be in the right state of mind for such thing. Others argue Pitou wasn't aware of a contract, but my earlier argument on the contract not being an actual thing yet a term explains this. It's simply an act of Will power, and Pitou certainly had enough willpower to do such things. Pitou's will was so strong it was the reason Pitou's Nen was able to attack Gon after death. Some say the Nen after Pitou's death was a contract as Nen is life energy/ life force and if Pitou wasn't alive it would be impossible for it to exist. Similarly to Kurapika's evil intent. Another argument is Nen is split between Energy and Emotion, Physical and Mental aspects. The contract accesses the Mental/Emotional side of things more and Pitou also seemed to show low levels of physiological arousal and acted upon instinct rather than emotional stimuli. The easy way out of this is to blame it on plot flaw and inconsistency so I'm going to do the same.

    • @TheTideKing004
      @TheTideKing004 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @loadsofrandomstuff9328 Most hunters/nen users don't make these vows because they are simply more experienced and more mature than gon. Gon, in this moment, was acting out of sheer instinct and was definitely not thinking rationally because of the mental breakdown he had minutes before making the vow. He had one goal in mind, and he focused everything on that goal and was, in that moment, prepared to pay any price. Most other people in this world are very aware of the dangers and ramifications such emotionally charged actions involving nen. Even killua upon seeing gon was visibly shocked and scared when pondering the price gon would have to pay for this power because he knows that this is very unnatural. This is essentially a shotcut to power, but at the cost of everything and people would rather take the long way that involves actually being able to use the power you gained without pretty much killing yourself. You are right. This isn't possible to just anyone. This only works because gon has an obsession with kite and has the innate willpower to actually go through with it. Although I do believe that the actual vow making part was subconscious and that in the moment, gon was just operating on pure instinct because of his eyes and how glazed over they are. Either way I think this transformation is my favourite in anime because of how tragic it is. When you first watch this episode you can't help but get hype but when you keep watching the dread comes over as your knowledge of the nen system starts to come back and you realise just what it is gon has done. It's a subversion of the norm and I love it for that.

    Gon did the same thing that kurapika did, more or less, he made a vow with his Nen, trading all his nen to achieve that. He basically grew up like 10 years or so in a second and it's like in those years he trained no stop. This power he shows, Gon could have achieved that only in years of training. He traded off all his enourmous potential to become that strong immediately.

    • @pininja4981
      @pininja4981 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Exactly but it was all subconscious. He didn't know he was making a pact. It all happened on instinct and desire. Since nen is connected to desires and feelings. He sacrificed everything because he meant every word of the sentence "idc anymore". And yeah. His body was forced to age in a very hardcore training way. He aged like 25 years or 30 to get that powerful. And according to pitou he became as powerful as the king. So a human as talented as gon was able to get to the power of the king in ig 32 years. 2 years of good training and 30 years of NOTHING BUT TRAINING. the most harsh environment for training.

    • @LeoBeastmode
      @LeoBeastmode 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Kinda. I'd assume it's more from Gon's perspective of his diligence and aptitude for training and how he imagined himself to be. Anyone with nen could do what Gon did but wouldn't have the willpower and drive to go through with it and be in the same emotional circumstances to achieve an equivalent outcome. For example, Netero might have made his Zero hand stronger at the cost of everything but his own perception of his potential was skewed (he feels he's weaker than he was) and his resolve waived by Meruem. He didn't time travel, more like copied a potential future from his imagination.

In the manga when Killua and Gon first met in the Hunter exam, Killua asked why he wants to become a hunter, Gon told him about Kite who was more proud of Ging's achievements more than his, and somewhere along the lines of hunting Ging since that was the most difficult thing to do as what Kite described in the first chapter of the manga.

    It is like Kurapika, just taken to an insane degree. Kurapika sacrifices an hour of her life per second in emperor time. She dies if she uses chain jail on a non spider. But this... as he said "I'll use it all." He sacrificed everything. All the nen he would ever have, seemingly all his lifespan, everything. After that fight, Gon is just a withered, mess kept alive only by life support.
    But the thing i love most is that this makes sense. Gon is what, 13 here? He has never had a loved one die. He has lived away from the world on a small isolated island, sheltered from how life can get. A Gon who had lost before could have known he would be okay. Could have healed. But a child given amazing power, who has never lost snyone before probably can't comprehend life after his father figure. Can't understand that the world will go on. So the only thing left in his eyes is revenge. It's an amazing autopsy of what happens when a sheltered child is given amazing powers, and just unleashed on the real, often cruel world.

    For anyone wondering how Gon managed to pull this off..... IT'S NEN CONTRACT. Yes exactly what kurapika did.
    But the difference is, Gon made a contract with his entire lifespan where as kurapika made a contract risking his life ONLY if he doesn't follow the contract. This is the reason why Gon said, "I don't care if this is the end".

  • @quieness
    @quieness 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think tou understood most of it, but the way gon got his power was indeed through a contract similar to Kurapikas. He TRADED his life's worth of nen training to achieve the power immediately only for that one fight. So basically, if Gon were to train his nen and develop and grow old right, he would have reached THIS stage, prob during his 40s(?)
    So he basically traded all that potential and his nen, to reach this stage of development here. He kind of made his body time-travel to the point where he'd be in his 40-50s and would have reached this stage of power in exchange to never be able to use nen again, for his future, his life expectancy, etc. He basically traded his future for the power he would have had if he had a future.

    don you forget that at the end of the day gon is still an immature kid, he also has quite a stubborn, if you combine that fact with his natural personality traits then you can't expect to make rational decisions and 'think about the future' all the time. You might also be forgetting that gon met kite as a kid and he was inspired by him, so kite is kinda like a father to gon as well.

    The reason Pitou was able to move without a head, was because of the hatred against Gon or the complete loyalty towards the king. Pitou’s techniques got strengthened by something called postmortem nen. A strength only achievable after death. It’s the thing the phantom troupe was weary of, and why they didn’t kill Kurapika. They didn’t want to risk his chains getting even stronger once he died and then possibly becoming impossible to remove from their leader’s heart

    I'm so proud of you for almost getting it whole! yes gon did what kurapika did. He made a nen pact. If you remember, kurapika made a pact where if he used his ability Chain jail on anyone but the spiders he would die. Its an IF pact. Makes his ability only useful against 13 people in the entire world. Its why his ability is so broken. And if he does break it he dies. Gons pact wasn't conscious, nen is connected to feelings and desires. Gons desire at that moment was revenge. Killin pitou. Even if he LOANS tha temporary power. Once he uses that power for what he wanted, the power will be gone and he would die. Technically gon didn't sacrifice his life. He sacrificed all his nen talent. The 1 in 10 million people talent potential. But the amount of aura he took was so great it effected his negatively. So yeah
    Edit: to further explain, nen tranformed gons body to be powerful enough to defeat best pitou easily. At the cost of all his nen talent potential. As in this borrowed transformation was only temporary and for the use against pitou. He probably wouldn't have been able to use it against meruem.
    Oh oh lets explain a little thing you might be forgotten already lmao
    Pitou after she died. Her body moved in order to kill gon. In hxh if you due with a powerful desire to do something, you die, but your nen stays and becomes a lot stronger. Pitou died but her will to kill the only threat to the king (gon) was very powerful, so her nen became stronger after death and had the goal of manipulating her body to kill gon. Its called post mortem nen. Nen after death. Nen after death either disappears or stays and becomes a lot stronger. The latter is very rare and only happens if the dying person had a very powerful desire towards something. Like if kurapika died fighting the spiders, his nen would probably stay after death but idk what it would do. As in his nen will get stronger after death but idk if his body will do what pitou did😭 because pitou was able to do the body manipulation thing because one of her ABILITIES was about a doll manipulating her body to fight stronger.

    Gon did do the same thing as Kurapika essentially. But instead of using his life as a sacrifice he used his nen. The way I understand it, he made the condition to get all the nen he would ever have to defeat pitou and in gaining that nen he would give up his ability to use nen afterward.

  • @darknesswave100
    @darknesswave100 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    That form you see is exactly what Kurapika did with his nen but to an insane degree. Gon put a condition and a vow onto his nen to get that power. He said i dont care if this is the end. That was the condition and the vow was that he was going to kill Pitou. ConditionxVow=a crapton of power

    What Gon did is kinda similar to Kurapika's chains. Kurapika's chain have a nen condition on them where he can only use the chains against the Phantom Troupe. Gon unconsciously (or consciously) made a nen contract where he exchanged all his raw talent for power immediately. He grew up to the moment of his life where he would be at his peak if he trained constantly (like Netero did for his 10,000 fists of gratitude). Fan speculates that his transformation is the purest application of Enhancement type Nen

    The tragic part about this is that Gon could have achieved that form and power with years and years of training, he would have been stronger than Netero, and stronger than the King. But he didn't care, he basically burn through his life energy to get him to that point instantly, and delivered what is for me the best anime one sided beatdown of all time, you can't even call that a fight, he absolutely obliterated Pitou.
