Haha why am I even surprised at this point. Not only recognising Lacrimosa but even appreciating on a deeper level how well it fits. An unparalleled reaction to an unparalleled episode.
I appreciate the time you took to comment ✌🏼but I must admit though, I never ever thought I would be complemented on recognizing Lacrimosa and it’s meaning 😁 Is this based on your experiences with other HXH content ?
Weird realization but the Nen Fish might have been created and used for surgical purposes. The "victim" can't die and doesn't feel pain, and the technique can only be used in an encloused space sounds perfect for that. We've seen Chrollo use a pen to kill one of them, it wouldnt be weird to try to use a "healing" ability to try to kill another just because or even for experimentation.
yes he did. now it's certain. it feels like Chrollo never cries, only when one of the Spider dies, he cries. 💝 that's the only pain that could penetrate through his stone harden heart.
Agree, to me it was his reactions to evangelion, so many reactors just watch shows but don't get any of the subtext, kinda just in for the "woo that happened", while he actually pays attention and catches many details.
The Requiem starts with Mozart's "Lacrimosa", which means "full of tears". "Full of tears will be that day, When from the ashes shall rise, guilty man to be judged; So, spare him O my God; " As it plays troupe is annihilating police and mafia. Now this is not merely a game. One man before Chrollo wishes to be dead, but death is not current mood for Chrollo. Death means nothing now. Fun has ended. Mood for Vengeance rises. Troupe members know it. Chrollo knows it. There Exists no target. Lives are immaterial. The nightmare has finally arrived. Afterall a month has fallen. As the symphony bellows and swells. It turns sadness into rage. As if death itself is spreading like fire in forest. As the remaining months mourn for their fallen, stench of blood fills the air.
You have absolutely no reason to worry about hxh "peaking". A lot of people consider the york new arc as their favorite but the majority consider a future arc one of, if not the best arc in any show.
This Requiem scene is such a poetic, yet accurate depiction of how, even violence can be so beautiful when it has no anger in it, but rather a pure Sense of Expression. It is a statement of the superficiality of good vs bad and the savorous depth that lies beyond that paradigm.
my interpretation of Chrollo's one tear drop, and his question about the afterlife -- isn't about whether to put Uvo at peace, or feel sad for Uvo. he's wondering about the afterlife because he wants to see Uvo again. it's like : " if there's another life, another chance at life, i'd like to be with you again." most people who are concerned with the afterlife wants something that is not fulfilled in this life. they want another chance. anyway, that is how much and how deep i think Chrollo loves and treasures Uvo, and the troupe loves each other. about Lacrimosa, it doesn't matter if some viewers doesn't know that it's a piece composed by Mozart, and is often used at funerals. the sound speaks for itself. the viewers attache whatever meaning they feel to the sound, that's why music is cosmic. you don't have to know what it means to feel exactly what it wants you to feel.
In reincarnation, they will definitely see each other again. in different forms, or as different people, but their case is what a certain school of buddhists (and togashi knows this most likely) karmic entanglement. meaning their soul journeys are linked by past life and are destined to meet again in more than one lifetime / iteration.
@@quinndelcarmen1384 that is romantic. a longing for incarnation just to meet again -- means that they believe in eternity. for sure they are destined to be brothers. the troupes members are each other's eternal beloved. time/space can do nothing to them. they have a cosmic connection.
@@tng2022 although in buddhism the soul is not fixed as in other belief systems. it evolves (soul journey) as it lives physical lifetimes. but yes, karmic entanglement does open up romantic possibilities and poets use it a lot. an example is an old haiku love story where one of the lovers dies and the other thinks that they will find the other again "even if it takes living a hundred lifetimes". the other side of this is the concept that some souls are oppositional to each other and meet as adversaries through multiple lifetimes in different forms, but since souls are evolving, it might take just one lifetime for something to happen that breaks this cycle. Basically, an unkind soul is not surely destined to be always unkind in every lifetime, and a merciful one may not always merciful, even if their journeys tend to lean in one way or another.
@@tng2022 karmic concepts are also why a lot of romantic stories (tragic or not) repeat the archetype of two people who are alike but opposed to each other in one life for varying reasons but in another, could have been best friends or lovers xD

For me it's top 5. I actually even put the kurapika/uvo episode above it 😬 but still two top 5 episodes in an arc where every other episode is also excellent, truly the best arc imo.

I swear, I never been so excited about hxh reactions until I came upon your channel. Your discussions are really great and the only discussions worth sticking around until the end. Your analysis on chrollo’s ability is near perfect, the fact you even analyzed the frames of his book is just awesome.

My favorite episode in the first hundred! It really is just so fantastic. I will say though, I always cringe a bit at the english translations on this one in the subs. yeah the subtitles for the anime is off a lot of times. not just this once... there are even times when it is soooo fucking OFF it has the opposite meaning with the original manga. that drives me nuts.
What he says in Japanese is "make it flashy" (派手に殺れ). He also previously says "go on a rampage" (大暴れ) when he knocks the girl out. You can interpret that in that he wants them to put on a performance, but you could also infer that he wants them to go all out. One translation emphasises the former, the other the latter.
@@mrstarker I'm referring to the official English translation of the manga. Translation is hard, but this is a translation done by a professional - Lillian Olsen - who is known for making very few mistakes in the whole of the Hunter x Hunter manga. Chrollo's fortune is soooo much better in German. It actually rhymes
poems don't inheritly rhyme lol. that's not a part of a poem. a poem CAN rhyme, but it does not HAVE TO rhyme. that's more the middle school level of poems.
@@Green-3c34y65vrbu yeah idc lol the fortune still sounds way better this way
@@Nive-wt7xu that's fair lol it's just the focus on rhyming was weird to me
He is called Chrollo Lucifer, i think they just censored it
No, it is indeed Lucilfer. In Japanese, the second ru in “Rushirufuru” is denoting the “l” in Luci”l”fer. For Lucifer, it would need to be Rushifuru.
Nah it's not. Though I've no idea why it's intentionally off by a bit.
I meant the city is literally Yorknew. Togashi is no stranger to rearranging words
@@Ash_Wen-li It being translated as Yorknew only conveys half of Togashi's wordplay. The name of the city is Yorkshin. Shin does means "new", but the name is supposed to be a pun on "Auction" as well.
@@robertboxwell not only that, but the city itself is in the middle of the desert, full of mafia, auctions and gambling. it might be called york but togashi patterened it after las vegas.
