Several months ago I installed K&N CAI on my 2015 Fusion Titanium 2.0. It's definitely worth it, car has a very nice turbo sound and it definitely added a small bump in power/responsiveness. The car should have came with one from the factory.
I got this one used for my 2.0. I love it and feel that at 25mph when you punch it and it down shifts the TQ is insanely amazing. Also a 60mph roll and when it down shifts to 3rd the pull to 80 and 4th gear shift is so good. I have 145k on my 14' Fusion and it's so fun. Also eibach lowered with monotube gas shocks, and stress sway bars as well as the jacking rails. Running half of a boomba motor mount because the complete was way too much vibrations. Oh and a TB spacer and intake spacer from boomba.
What did ya think of the boomba spacers when you put them on? Feel a difference with them?? They're next on my list! K&N was a definite improvement on mine all the way around.
@@koolaidwaterfountainsforth4236 I thought there was a sizeable improvement down low with the spacers. What's the biggest challenge with the spacers is the added distance from the PCV tube that connects to the main intake pipe. I didn't have a leak but it's stressed the tube and I should have warmed it up with a heat gun to try and take some of the bend out of it to slightly increase the length. Upgraded sway bars really helps with cornering. The jacking rails improve the stability of the body as well. I also love the feel of the gas shocks. Daily drive this car 120 mi a day. It puts the hurt on quite a few other cars and I'm not even tuned.
@@RobertMichaelPhotography heck yeah, good to hear! They're definitely on my list for my '16. Already done the intake, catch can, boomba adjustable bov and the delete for that fed in intake noise. Wanting to do everything I can before I tune it down the road. Little extra performance and get the added mpg gains. I pulled 35mpg on a 140 mile highway trip yesterday 🤘 fwd ofcourse. Even doing the catch can cleaned up the throttle response a bit once it cycled through a handful of dumps.. so having done the catch can already I have no worries about the pcv tube! That's done been in the trash lol
@@koolaidwaterfountainsforth4236 pretty sure my car has an issue with the trans since I can't get any better than 28 mpg lately. Lots of bog down between shifts and or slipping. Average daily is 22mpg to 21. I drive 75 -80 tho and love to put the pedal down. I also run E30 not tuned and it loves it, but mpg suffers for sure. But straight 91 is still not good on mpg. 24-25 average, and less performance.
@@RobertMichaelPhotography I just run 93, I kept it at around 77ish. It was going down the mountain so cheating some. My best mpgs I got on the same trip before were just over 33. So gained nearly 2mpg more with a free flowing intake. Catch can made a world of difference with running cleaner. Got a JLT catch can. $150 bucks and it's not this big ass cylinder looking thing. Looks nice nice in the engine bay, people gotta scan for it to find it that arent used to seeing them 😉
Honestly, it probably did add a bit of power, but, the main thing you're noticing is those intakes really help with the response of the engine. Helps the turbo spool quicker etc.
Yeah it really does make a difference it actually surprised me how much it does I wasn’t expecting it to do absolutely anything besides just make noise
@@procam448 that Lil fusion seems to pull pretty well, judging by the speedo needle. Never drove one. Looks like it'd be door handle to door handle with my 80 Buick Regal. Built it to be a fun cruiser, not a race car lol.
Honestly I’m not really gonna put too much money into this car this is my daily The only thing I will end up doing is probably putting it on bags and some wheels but I’m gonna buy another car to actually build
@@procam448 I'll be watching when that comes. My Regal started life as a 231 (3.8) V6, with a 2.56 open diff. Been a long project and come a long way since. Just have fun with the fusion, and keep it reliable. Everyone needs a reliable daily.

Just installed mine on a 2014 fusion Titanium! A dope trick I came across is if you take the sound deadening material off the hood, the turbo is wayyy louder when the hood is closed.
Ummm.... you're sure that wasn't the firewall protection material that you took off... Right? Might want to leave that on there.
@@ironman98 it's a sound deadener and insulator that's all. Keeps the engine quiet and helps the hood surface stay cooler. Well worth the sound increase!

Put a k&n cold air intake on my '14 fusion 2.0 Ecoboost a year ago. Love the sound with the hood up. Gonna take that deadener out now that I read this.! Well worth the sound as you mentioned!!!! 👍
Great Video! Hey man just wanted to say tuck those draw strings in side your hoodie. If they get caught in a pulley or something moving. It could strangle you to death. It happen to a friend of mine working on a muscle car. Lucky someone was there to shut the car off. It can happen that quick too. I have a 2017 Ford Escape with the 2.0 turbo and AWD. Hypothetically, you could use this to boost fuel economy and save the torque and hp for getting out of tight spots. I'd be interested to know what kind of boost to gas mileage you get by driving conservatively.

I just bought a Fusion S, so no EcoBoost, until you get above 4-5 RPMs it sounds almost like an electric motor. Probably the only time I wish that I had gone for one of the turbo engines is when I am first pulling into heavy traffic from a stop. Otherwise, it's not a bad car.
I have a rear muffler delete on my 2013 2.5 SE fusion and I love it to death. I’m putting a k&n air filter in soon. Did the box come with the filter?
Keep in mind those 2.5 units are bulletproof. The money you save with it you can re invest in other areas of the car. Good luck on your mods!

Prob had 2.0 intake. I got 1.6 and I'd have to drill hole if it's 2.0 intake like if I buy a used one.

On mine I have an Injen Performance one and the piping goes all the way to the Turbo. You can hear the blowoff. Not sure there was as much of a power difference as I saw when I did the CAI on my Hemi Ram.
I had a great desire to buy it too. But when I saw that postage and shipment would cost me the same as the product jsem I gave it up

I’ve been looking at putting an intake and BOV on my MKZ 2.0t (basically the same thing) this is the only video I’ve found that has given me an idea of what it will sound like and how the install will go… I am curious about your BOV install if it’s located in the same spot as mine.
Yeah you’ll have to take off the front passenger wheel and look for the stock bov is a cover bolts it’s kind of a pain to get to

Just so y'all know eco tech and ecoboost from chevy and ford they are the same engines and turbos they collab on both engines and the new 10 speed transmission....
Can't find anything that supports they used the same engines. They might be both turbo and direct injection but they aren't made by the same people.
I can confirm that is not the truth. Own both a 2.0 EcoBoost and a 2.0 ecotec turbo. They are definitely not the same. 2 very different designs 👍
I have a question, did the intake make the check engine light to come on? Or was it already there before the installation?
Most the times when you disconnect the mass air flow sensor the check engine light will come on.
It wasn’t from the intake I had it on before for evap
ProCam replace the vapor canister purge valve. Top end, my fusion was running pretty rough. And sometimes a rough idle. Engine light was on for evap and that’s what I replaced. Much better. Now waiting for my K&N intake to come in 😬😬 love my 2.0 ecoboost haha
I already did it fixed it it actually got so bad that my car just shut itself off in the middle of traffic now it’s like brand new and nicce
When I had my own BMW E36 (1996 mod) a mechanic told me that the cold air intake I had installed actually decreased my power instead of adding power. It was the 150HP version. Do the cars need to get tuned for the intake, or is it only low power cars that loose power?

What year is your fusion? I’ve got a 2020 and I’m debating on doing the same, but I can’t find one that’s listed as “compatible” anywhere. Yours doesn’t look any different than my engine bay.
I’ve got a 2020 2.0 and having the same issue. Even the K&N website is confusing because the one they show the tube from the engine to the filter is way too short to be compatible.

A BOV aka blow off valve. Not all modern day turbo cars have blow-off valves. In fact most don't, it's usually an aftermarket thing. Boomba Racing, is one of the better-known BOV manufacturers and is probably what he has in there.

Yo Bro I have a 2018 Platinum with the 2nd Gen 2.0EB with the extra 5hp & 5Lb Ft. was it easy to do the blow off valve? Already have the Solid Motor Mount & It’s helps a lot since I don’t have the AWD. I’m ready to start modding it. I want to keep a somewhat factory look so I have a Mondeo Front Bumper with Fogs & MKZ Cluster

Late response but intake air Temps don't matter much because after entering the intake it gets cooled by the intercooler

easy to install maybe 6-8 hp 8-10 torque minuscule added fuel economy, but bruh why that 3.5 is beast by its self

Also did you install your bov on top or underneath your vehicle
I don’t remember exactly all you have to do is maybe go on Amazon put in your car find the intake and it should match up and tell you if it fits also with the bov do you have to takeoff your passenger front tire to get to it so you have to get the car in the air it’s a pain to install
If you haven't already done so... The 2017 2.0 ecoboost fusion only needs a bova (blow off valve adapter) and not the full part and it was easy to install for me. Also, the adapter is MUCH cheaper (Near $95-100). All the best 👍

Boomba blow off valve adaptor is what I use but Steeda and others make them for our cars.
Intakes/exhaust and headers don’t do anything for power unless you tune it ………

Does your car have a rough shifting mostly from 1-3 gear?
Yes that’s normal for Ford Fusions unless it’s slipping on you then there’s a problem
I have a 2015 titanium and second to third is sometimes pretty rough
Matt561 yeah the same sometimes it’s so rough that makes me want to sell it. The car drives good but who knows how long the transmission will last. I changed transmission oil and do all needed maintenance but still kinda worrying every time when it shifts rough. I also noticed that it shifts way better after a long drive
@@timstaro it has a lot to do with the RPMs, when they are right it's smooth. I also found it's better with 93 octane fuel. It's some kind of timing issue.
I’ve had a ‘13 taurus with the 2.0, 130k miles and a ‘16 fusion with the 2.0, 40k and both have had the same transmission characteristics for the most part. Taurus was giving me issues and slamming gears, but when it was acting right they both performed the same.

What you can do is put your car in to Amazon and that link I have in the description Amazon should tell you if it fits your car
@@procam448 I use CarId to buy all my parts. It says the kit will fit but once I put in what engine I have, it only gives me the option for the flat filter and a, probably 7-8” piece of tubing.
