This was my mother's favorite Paul Newman movie of all time. She just passed away this past weekend and for decades she said, "Please gather as a family and watch this together when I pass away. Watch it and smile for me" and we are doing just that on Friday night. We're watching it outside so she can watch it with us. Oh how she loved this movie!

What an outstanding film. This movie made Newman a star. very strong performances from everyone.
Barbara Rush is very good in the film too. The way she goes from young girl to mature woman.

@@dlc1119it’s illegal to EVADE paying your taxes, but it is legal to AVOID paying your taxes, which is the scheme Newman’s character advises.
The idea is to reduce her tax burden by using tax sheltering strategies.
