    I tried using the CF gel and the first small amount of oil it was gelling up really nicely, but as i added more it's become quite runny and has a curdly looking froth through it that is slowly settling up to the top. Any ideas what went wrong? I used 20g CF and 60g oil (Capric coconut oil and olive oil), i did add 3g of Vit E tocopherol and 2.4g of fragrance oil. Thanks for any help.

    • @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401
      @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oil doesn't absorb into the skin, it sits on the skin. These oily gels have a far less 'oily' feeling than a balm, if that is what you are asking? Yes they hold fragrance extremely well :) They are my favourites as oily gels, because they don't leave a greasy residue but moisturise extremely well.

      Yes you can but choose your lipids (oils) well - for lipgloss you don't want long spreading lipids but instead short spreading lipids so they stay on the lips and don't migrate in lip wrinkles e.g. castor oil is great for this or slow spreading esters. Happy formulating!

      It will have more emolliency than a standard lotion (because of the high oil content) but it feels lovely and would be very moisturising. It would be ideal for very dry skin types as a body gel. It would feel very different and be much more moisturising than a water based gel. Happy formulating!
