That camera angle is great. Trippy. Thank you again for a great production.

Another pro of going daw-free nobody seems to appreciate is the fact that it allows you to stand up and dance WHILE you're jamming. I haven't seen many Ableton producers dancing at their desk.

Hahahahaha. It’s true. You do make different music when you’re dancing to it

Great video! Makes a lot of sense, I definitely had more GAS with plugins than I do now after I’ve forced myself away from the computer to focus on a few pieces of gear. I spent 2020 switching away from my live computer setup after it crashed on me on stage when a usb midi controller briefly came unplugged. Since making the switch in my live set I’ve been doing my writing and production 90% without a computer too and I’ve never been happier with the quality and speed with which I’ve been making music.

It’s the intuitive tactile approach that does it most of the time! Thanks for watching!

I find using a DAW in a jam setup quite interesting. I use one to record and live mix sessions. And when my Model:Samples broke just a few days into this years jamuary, i needed a drum, and so just used an instrument track in bitwig with a drum kit for that. In that case I only used it for tone generation, controlled by a Launchpad Pro 3 as the sequencer. But why not, as all the sounds ended in the DAW anyway in the... This intuitive sequencer combined with huge possibilities of sound generation. But hardware machines are just as an important part for hands on sound sculpting as well!

That Is a tactile way of working then

I love the new sounds you're getting out of the Model D. Inspiring. Makes me want to dig into the modulation capabilities too. Cheers!!!

I run an acid house FB group along with a friend "86-92 Acid House" someone posted one of your old tunes yesterday "The wave of the future" so I told the group about this channel and that you were still going from strength to strength, shared a link to your channel brother ✌🏻❤️

I played many gigs with only hardware, for years. Based upon an MPC 2000. Sold the MPC, because I was going abroad without a return ticket. Forgot that I had agreed upon doing a live show. So. No MPC, wtf. Prepared an Ableton Live - set. I use Live since it came out, even before the actual 1.0. So I am very fluent in that software. That being said; I never felt so distant and uncomfortable during a live set // gig. Really boring, I felt like a robot being slaved to that computer. It did work though, the crowd liked the music and did not sense my grief. BUT, never did that again. Bought an MPC 2000 XL right away in that new country and never looked back. For sketchign out ideas, I still use Ableton LIve. It's a very nice toy to have around. But nothing "beats 😂 the directness of hardware imho. I don't need a gazillion of features. Nobody actually does.

Epic, though the way the title is worded, I assumed that the daw would be used as well to compare

If this dude used a DAW they would probably accidentally create the singularity lol.

My MPC live crashes as much (or more) than my Bitwig/Ableton does.
