I’m 12 in Alabama and having one of the deadliest metro crossovers in the world Birmingham-Hoover with a near 1.5 million population people go missing every other day and it’s extremely dangerous here, where I live it’s not been bad at kidnapping to only once ever I believe.
To a parent who thinks about kidnapping a child, you should think long and hard. Whatever you think you will gain by doing that is going to come.back to bite you in the butt. Your child will end up hating and resenting you for stealing them and their time away from the other parent. The few years won't be worth the lifetime of loss you will suffer. Most of the cases I've seen like this, the child stands by the parent who kidnapped them and has little to no contact or relationship with the parent who was absent. Mother would have won him legally but is that actually fair? She didn't even seem all that joyful when he was found. Fathers have almost no chance at winning custody cases, faced with impossible odds he did what he believed was right. I can admire that because the boy doesn't hold any grudges towards either party.

I’m not even talking about things like moms tearing all the way to their butthole and not being able to laugh/sneeze without peeing or poop without pain. Im talking about things like how a woman’s body literally gives EVERYTHING to their child to the point where it’s not uncommon for women to lose teeth (some losing all of them) and get osteoporosis because of all the nutrients leaching out of their bones to sustain the fetus. But it’s not only the baby that takes such a huge part of her, some cells from the baby also become part of the moms’ tissues too and in that way a mother becomes bonded to her child in ways that’s beyond words. Not to mention all the hormones that are released during childbirth that bond her to the baby in a way that it would cause excruciating devastation & pain to have the baby ripped apart from her like that. That was SEVERE pain, trauma, and injustice done to the mother by taking her baby away from her like that. Idc how good of a father he was, his crime was the inexplicable suffering he inflicted onto the mother who’s been looking for her child for the past 13 years..

most likely they knew it was the dad but he got away because of his name change etc. You have to also remember this happened in the mid 90s when they didnt have the technology resources they have today to track missing individuals. Back then if you just picked up and left everything behind, it would be hard for someone to track you down. Especially if you obtained a fake ID and worked under a different Social. Nowadays everything is recorded and stored indefinitely so there's always a trail. It wasn't like that in the mid 90s

It makes me very sad to see how fathers are many times treated as second class parents. If this man took this extreme decision chances are that he was being treated unfairly. I do not justify his actions, I just place myself as a mother in his position
It's sad that this father felt he had no other choice. I'm not justifying this act and obviously don't know what his reasoning was but many dad's are dragged through endless court battles for the kids because of bitter mothers. Our courts need to do better for the children.

I’m 12 in Alabama and having one of the deadliest metro crossovers in the world Birmingham-Hoover with a near 1.5 million population people go missing every other day and it’s extremely dangerous here, where I live it’s not been bad at kidnapping to only once ever I believe.

Your child will end up hating and resenting you for stealing them and their time away from the other parent. The few years won't be worth the lifetime of loss you will suffer. Most of the cases I've seen like this, the child stands by the parent who kidnapped them and has little to no contact or relationship with the parent who was absent. This shows that the child has been incredibly damaged by the kidnapping, regardless of appearing well adjusted. And the parent who spent years in pain from their child missing, is now dealt a new kind of pain. The child suffers most though. You sound like a beautiful exception.

None of it is good parenting. And you only harm the self-esteem of the child. It doesn't make you a good parent doing that. That being said, valid and I mean VALID claims of child molestation by a child about one parent I feel gives the other parent moral right to protect the child. Even if the court dictates the child goes to the offending parent. That may mean "kidnapping" them to hide until they are of an age they can protect and decide for themselves.
