Love Clair de Lune w/ the horn section. Really beautifully done. As a life long musician who has played in ensembles (in one form or another) during my 60 + years, I really appreciated the cueing, listening and musicianship. It’s not just one lead person in an ensemble, it’s all the people chucking their egos at the door and making really tasty music together. Keep it up!
The sound check... When the wireless for the guitar was actually working. What a stressful way to start a show. Glad Cory was prepared with a cord (with enough length) to do the show.
Cory Wong... how am I not subscribed!?!? I brought home Wong's Cafe on vinyl (like a boss), and missed then subsequently paid crazy for Live in Amsterdam vinyl ;) I just remedied the unsubscribed nonsense. My wife took me to your L.A. concert the other day - LOVED IT! Hoped to find Trail Songs Dawn and Dusk on vinyl there, but... :( I'm passing along the De Lune portion of this video to a band director friend of mine. Q: Does that B3 have a FOOT SWITCH TO ACTIVATE THE LESLIE? ('cuz if so, I gotta get/make one...) TOTALLY LOVE WHAT YOU GUYS DO - and how you do it... CLEAN - both musically and verbally. Our family thanks you! Love and peace to you funky cats.
This happyness of your band to play together and enjoying that is so beautifull to sse and heard... Make me think at Zappa band. Does humor belong in music?? ^^ Kisses
Was at the Moore for this! Fun show! Wish the house mix was as good as the post-production mixes. At least on the balcony, the mix was like 80% kick boom!
Yeah, that's what I heard. Still wish I would have been there. I didn't even know of Cory Wong until the Live streams in March '23. I've been binge watching videos ever since.
Hey Cory, loved your show in Phoenix a couple weeks ago. Just a few constructive critiques: - I noticed the horns harsh frequencies were not being tamed. I could see people in the audience were covering their ears at times so my girl and I weren't the only ones. - With the horns being so prominent in the mix, it drowns out those delicious licks Sonny is cranking out. Same with Kevin on Keys. Maybe its that in house live sound guy, maybe not. - The after-show interviews were hilarious, insanely creative and I think a staple of the whole show. - I like the pacing of each featured artist, the whole show felt very cohesive. I can't wait to see this incredible band again, keep it up!
I went to the Majestic in Detroit and bought these tickets in person, people out here fighting for 1000 dollar T swizz and this shit cost me 30 bucks, what is this world, i'm bout to see the best show and i coulda brought like THIRTY people with me for the price of ONE TAYLOR SWIFT TICKET HOLY CRAP. Santeria solo!! One of my favourites to play. The fact that Cory doesn't know the ending makes me wonder, was he just playing the whole thing by ear? Did he know it a long time ago and can't remember the ending now?

I’d love to see those two together. The back and forth, and unison playing would be epic.
@@colinwallace5286 that happened in LA this tour!
@@ryannadler2617 I will keep my eyes open for that video. The level of musicianship that Corey and friends give us is eye-opening.
When your soundcheck is better than 99% of other artist's actual performances.
Woah, Cory is some kind of perfectionist on the horn players in Disco de Lune. Seriously amazing!
The ending of disco de lune was so beautiful, actually teared up a little
Am I crazy or is that the song they play in Ocean's Eleven when they are staring at the fountain after the heist?
@@anthonyc7127 No idea, but it's based on an extremely legendary classical song called Claire De Lune by Claude Debussy

And killing the Fender Twin!

Love the keyboard solo at 2:35 - SO FONKY!!! 😍😍😍
Sonny cover of It Wasn’t Me on Spotify when?
(but love hearing you guys have fun with the covers, super enjoyable for us too!)
That 1988-esque sunset Cory Wong logo is just perfect (and fits Petar's bass drum just right)
The editing on the Sonny bit was top notch
"ErupT-ion" by Sonny Van Halen! The third brother 😎
Cory Wong jamming out to the S&M version of For Whom the Bell Tolls is exactly what I needed today.

OMG Kevin go off more!!
Nice to see a complete lefthanded rhythm section 😜👍
Feeling like I just got away with the Bellagio heist at the end of Disco. Beautiful, and great transition to Clair written for the horns
Glad I wasn't the only one who thought that! Is it a cover or just sounds similar?
Jack Johnson’s song goes ‘reduce reuse recycle’ and that order makes the most sense to me.
I sir, would like to hire that horn section!
I was at this show and a meet and greet beforehand. Fantastic musicians and really great people to interact with. Thanks for coming to Washington!

Kevin: has Nord Stage sitting on 200 pounds of stage organ. Also Kevin: organ solo on Nord.
Sierra on bass?! Watch out Sonny! She's already gettin' the slap/pop thing down. 🤣
I’ve never seen her play bass before but she is a killer on acoustic guitar and would probably take to electric like a fish to water.
