You don’t have to set the touch screen to your main monitor. Just go to tablet settings and identify which screen the touch input controls. This way it is also possible to use multiple touch screens.
I hope this doesnt come across as too critical, but it would be nice to see you branch out more from just "buy X new thing to improve your setup". For example, while you could buy one of these displays, much could be acheived by buying a second hand monitor or even repurposing a laptop display using an appropriate driver board (which i believe could also alllow for touch inputs). Sadly i know algorithmically videos like this will do better, but there are plenty of ways to improve a setup without potentially producing e-waste. Possibly you could recommend more software or eco friendly alternatives moving forwards alongside the main product on display, as you did with ear trumpet in this video. I obviously also understand their are subjective improvements in things like the aspect ratio of this display, or physical inputs.
I really appreciate this comment. You hit the nail on the head. TH-cam and the algorithm make it difficult to explore beyond what "you're already known for". I'm with you though, I've got software only and budget friendly setup videos in the pipeline, and this comment has gone a long way to show me that there is interest in those types of videos. Thanks again for your feedback and for being part of the community.
Also for solving the main display issue, in windows search type in touch > click on "calibrate the screen for pen and touch input" > select the display > click setup > follow the instructions (I think hit enter to move which display it controls) and then you can get it to do touch on the secondary monitor without setting the main monitor as the touch screen, at least that is my setup
Hi, interesting idea, but have you considered using some small Drawing Display Tablet as a 2nd display with better Multi-Touch support instead? Maybe it could be more handy?
How did you set ear trumpet as its own window for the monitor. I wish you would go into depth on how to set up some of these things instead of just naming what you used.
Cool idea, I use an M10 tablet on a dock with spacedesk hooked up through usb tethering, that way it not only works as a double screen but as its own device if I need a tablet for some reason or want to watch netflix while gaming without taking up additional pc resources
I've been interested in this screen to have as a volume controller. I'm not sure if it is better than a physical knob like the pc panel mini. I want to be able to adjust the volume and probably be able to quickly mute my microphone in discord if needed. After using both for the control of the volume what do you think is the best option? I don't care to much passive uses like cpu/gpu temps. But maybe there are other widgets that are helpful.
I've been thinking about getting one of these primarily for my taskbar, while using an OLED screen (where I'm avoiding static elements) as my main monitor. I know Windows restricts scaling options depending on the resolution of a given display. Has anyone does this and seen how big (and usable) the taskbar is on it?
Can you do a video about android/ios devices that will compliment a desk setup? for example I was thinking for awhile to add a small android tablet for spotify + other apps that would compliment a windows/ mac setup I know everything could be done from one system but I'm wondering what kind of flexibility would you have from a system like that?(windows pc and android tablet \ MacOS and ipadOS)
I'm considering a long mini monitor for on use as mirroring the keyboard layout but with descriptive text or icons replacing the default key caps when the alt/win/super/menu/shift or it is in modal mode with an application. This would use a Raspberry Pi 4b in USB-C host mode between the keyboard & mouse. There would be a Linux/Window/Apple client detecting which application is taking keyboard input & which modal state the application is in. ( easy enough to do on Linux with NeoVim & Emacs, difficult to do with proprietary applications on Windows may have to use HDMI split-er to HDMI to Camera interface on PI screen reading recognition ) This could allow you to set up really complex macros & scripting. The mini monitor would positioned above or below my main monitors, connected to the Raspberry Pi not connected to the PC. It would be a great tool for learning application keyboard commands keeping your hands on the keyboard. Starting with opensource NeoVim/Emacs/Visual Studio to complex apps Resolve.
it would be nice if this mini monitor was made of e-paper, you can operate the calendar without spoiling your eyes and it would not consume so much electricity
E-paper / E-ink would be amazing for a device like this. Now you got me thinking about e-ink displays and I may have to do some research for a future video lol.
Nice video! I was already using most of the things you have sugested, as I've been experimenting with it a lot since I bought the screen. I surely did not think of using the screen vertically, I will have to try! One of the things that I havent managed to solve yet is some kind of configuration so that certain programs open directly in the tiny screen. I just hate that I have a shortcut for discord, trello or eartrumpet, but when i click it goes into my main screen for no reason
@@bethanyharrison3310 unfortunately no. In fact I have completely removed shortcuts from that screen, since it makes no sense. I just open them normally and move then to the screen.
Because of your last video I am using one between my monitors, set up vertically, as a place to put people in zoom calls. It's right below the camera so my eyeline is a lot closer to the lens, rather than off to the side
I’d love to buy something like this but I worry about the quality as it would be used in work, I don’t want it to set on fire when I’m not there! 🔥 anyone recommend what I could use? I would be eternally grateful
Thanks for the follow-up review of the V2. Question, what's your main monitor in the b-roll here? The curved display, not the 4x3 larger one at the start of the video. I've struggled to find an ultrawide that supports 2160 high, not 1280 or 1400, like many to most do. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! The curved display is the Samsung CRG9. I used it for years and really liked it. I recently made the switch to the C2 OLED just to give OLED a shot in my main setup. Both displays are excellent.
Ive used one for about a year now. Mine isnt touch, but still 1920x480. Its great as a little side monitor. However, there are MANY programs that dont like scaling to either that aspect ratio, or thst low of resolution. For instance Id love to have Spotify and Discord open side by side in landscape. But its absolutely a no go
As a fellow Mac user I hear you. My issue is that my M1 MacBook can only connect to one display at a time, so accessory displays like this are a no go lol.
Another great video. I've been using a Mimo portable USB DisplayLink monitor below my main monitors for years. Used in conjunction with OnTopReplica (great and useful app) and switching between multiple virtual desktops has been a great experience.
If you want to control individual monitor/screen brightness via software, consider giving TwinkleTray a go. Might be worth your time, works great in my use case.
Hey I'm curious as to how you set EarTrumper up on your touch screen, I own one myself and while using the EarTrumper app I can't change the volume because windows thinks my screen is a trackpad
Awasome! I could use this in my podcast studio to show up VU meters audio levels from reaper. Or stats from Formula 1 during a F1 race next to my TV. Of use this instead of a streamdeck to control OBS. I really like your idea of showing a todo list of calender. Thank you so much for sharing. Also I want to set markers in reaper while recording, I use the reaper web interface fancier feature for that on my mobile at the moment.
I’m sorry that the following is so negative, your Videos are really high quality and I totally appreciate the insights you share. For me those mini screen gadgets are totally missing the point configured like that. It feels like a money grab looking at the productivity tech crowd. Screens and computers are so useful because you can change the content on the screen and having such a high quality display only show secondary information that doesn’t need refresh rate or quality is kind of missing the point. I like to minimise my to-dos and calendar once I get to work because it would otherwise distract me from the task at hand. I can easily tab into all the information these little screens supply and it doesn’t add the bonus of „where was my window spawned“ that sometimes comes with windows and multi screen setups. Tactile gadgets like knobs and macros that open this information on the main monitor are much more my style. That said this is just my opinion and I’m sure other people have other preferences, I don’t want to start a fight lol
Another level of distraction I have to say. Maybe making the phone screen on all the time is one of the experimentation before you hop on this I guess.
Respectfully this is NOT a good idea. #1. Any phone or tablet or small laptop can do the same thing (no need to buy anything if you already have those). #2. Glancing "away" from a main screen is not ergonomic - its slow. All these apps can be on a main display triggered with keyboard shortcuts and hidden when not in use if you don't want screen clutter. Respectfully you are trying hard to justify desk clutter that isn't necessary. Cheers
@workfromHypeI I have really enjoyed your videos so far. I was wondering now that it has been about 7months since this video would you still recommend this smart dashboard, having used it for for a longer time frame? I know some of the reviews on the official site for this product say that they have run into picture burn and some other problems.

What is that white ergonomic keyboard at the start?
You don’t have to set the touch screen to your main monitor. Just go to tablet settings and identify which screen the touch input controls. This way it is also possible to use multiple touch screens.
Thanks for this tip! I'm sure others will find it useful.
That just made my decision to buy this so much easier. Thank you.
Would it be possible for you to put a link how to do that?
I've had problems with Windows 11 doing that, unreliable to say the least.
Had this problem recently with another touchscreen monitor and this video helped me fix it.
Hope it helps!
