      "Give me something that has power to make a sad man happy - and a happy man sad".
      And hence, this too, will pass text on a ring. The temporal nature of life means that nothing ever remains the same. if we are attached to something, that notion makes us sad. That we'll lose whatever we are attached to.

      War is still present in Europe and in all of the world, hatred, war, conflict and violence, are not great but they are a part of human nature, people now specially westerners think that war is so alien and distant from them that they will be completely unprepered and shocked once the next conflict eventually breaks out that being trade war, actual war or whatever, you don't create the largest empires in human history without being selfish, this idea that hatred, death, war and so on can somehow be eradicated from society is so silly to me

      But the fact that it’s left up to the audience is the best part of this scene as it is all and none of interpretations at once, making whatever we the audience want it to be.

      Blueguy no matter what you can’t make everyone happy. It’s an anti war satire. It’s labeled as a comedy. Some people are offended by the “glamorizing of Hitler” and those same critics want it to be more realistic about ww2. So .. they accurately depict the heartbreaking ending for the mom for being part of “the resistance” and then people are upset she’s hanged? But they wanted accurate representation of nazi Germany and not ALL comedy? So what can you do? In my opinion they balanced the comedy and series/deeper topics out pretty well! But I also understand it’s not for everybody.

La La Land, Interstellar, The Usual Suspects, Chinatown.... instead of something grand or hard hitting to try and match the emotion of the war, we have two kids awkwardly dancing in the street, as a final payoff to Elsa’s wish for what she would do when she was free. Hands down my favorite movie of 2019. It takes enough talent on its own to bring out the comedy in arguably the darkest moment of modern history, and it takes so much more to delicately balance that humor with moments of tragedy that do not shy away from the horrors of that time. When Jojo bumps into the shoes, when him and Elsa watch the city getting bombed from their window, when the Hitler Youth are fighting in the street's towards the end, and when Captain K tears Jojo's Hitler Youth jacket off so he doesn't get killed by the firing squad, all unforgettable moments. Combine all of this with just outstanding performances from Thomasin Mckenzie, Roman Griffith-Davis, Scarlett Johannsen, and Sam Rockwell, this will be a movie I will definitely be coming back to time and time again.

      Jojo is grreat. 1917 meh. I mean 1917 was great to watch as a movie, but too many plot holes. I literally laughed when the two protagonists were trying to save the German pilot without disarming him first. Were you guys not in a hurry, why care about an enemy soldier? Dumb plot, lazy writting. And the emotional ending? It's well filmed indeed, but come on, if they didn't try to save that pilot, they wouldn't have to rush on the battlefield, and they could've saved the first wave of soldiers. The whole plot is just so forced, doesn't make sense

    • @ronaldmcdonald2817
      @ronaldmcdonald2817 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@FF-bj4nq Your criticism are all stupid.
      They didn’t disarm him because they didn’t know he was armed and they were more concerned about getting him out of the burning plane.
      “ why care about an enemy soldier”
      I don’t know maybe not wanting your fellow man to burn to death. Them saving the pilot is what any sane person would do. They had no idea he was going to stab them as well. This point is dumb.
      Your main problem is that two humans felt empathy towards a man burning to death and tried to help him like a normal person would. This says more about you then it does the film.

    • @FF-bj4nq
      @FF-bj4nq 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ronaldmcdonald2817 How could they not know he was armed? Isn't that blade so obvious? I spotted it in the cinema immediately. Okay, even if they didn't know, they should always check it first. Where the heck was their training? Were British soldiers that dumb in WWI? That's way too disrespectful to all the brilliant soldiers.
      So you felt empathy, that's nice, then just like the main protagonist said, they should shoot him to end his pain, not to save him. Your points were established solely on "yeah why not feel empathy" but you totally misinterpreted my points and deliberately ignored the context that "they were in a hurry". They were on an urgent mission to deliver a message and save their own soldiers, they shouldn't care about anything else. But they wasted time to save an enemy. Then what would happen after saving him? They didn't know there was an allied troop nearby, so they had to capture that pilot and walk with him, only to furtherly slow them down and risk being spotted? That would be straight forward neglection of duty.
      Not to mention that at the ending, the main protagonist ran on the battlefield to save a few minutes. Right, now he knew how precious time could be? But he risked his life, risked that the message would never be delivered, risked all the soldiers who were about to walk into the trap, risked the victory, in exchange for a few minutes? I know he thought he might save some soldiers from the first wave, but there was a bigger chance he lost his life there and ruined the entire campaign, that would result in much much more casualties. How irresponsible a soldier could be?
      The result of their decisions was grave. No doubt that empathy is good, but feeling empathy on everything only to create greater suffering? Man that's hypocrisy. Hypocrisy as I see it is the cancer of mordern world and clearly it has poisoned your mind.
      Anyway, this movie is just another typical hypocritical Hollywood movie that trades logic and reality for emotions, and makes some stupid lucky bastard save the world. If you fall for the emotions, you fall for their propaganda. It is a good movie, not because it's good, but because you don't get anything better nowadays

    • @ronaldmcdonald2817
      @ronaldmcdonald2817 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FF-bj4nq They probably didn’t notice the blade as they were more concerned with getting him out of the plane and stopping him from dying, same reason for not checking for weapons.
      Them saving the pilot took them only like 5 seconds. Saving the pilot wasn’t a huge time consumer. The reason Schofield was rushing at the end and had to run across the battlefield is because he was knock out by the German sniper in the town and ended up losing a lot of time from it.
      They also probably tied the German pilot to something and left him some water. Also, what do you mean being spotted? The Germans retreated to the Hindenburg Line that’s why the British troops were able to move freely through previously occupied territories.
      Him running on the battlefield made no difference as the German artillery still made it into the frontline trench. He was no safer in the trench’s then on the battlefield plus he didn’t have to go through all the other soldiers blocking his way. Also, the battle was going to fail anyway if Schofield was killed or not, the first wave failed to take the Hindenburg line and the second wave wouldn’t have either.
      What propaganda?
      Your main problems are mostly consistent of you thinking saving the pilot would take them hours and human characters not wanting another to burn to death.
