    If you want to shoot excellent quality video definitely go for dedicated camera. There's something rarely someone tells, all phones suck at night

      How do we take better shots at night using a camera? A camera can't compete with phone's low light

    Hi Chuen, love your soothing voice. Great video. I want to make simple talking head language education type videos - what would you recommend for that - Zv-e10/sigma or iPhone 15/16 pro? Camera will just sit on tripod in home studio. Have great lights. Beginner.

      Thanks @steveperry4243 - I did a video on talking head shot with using iPhone 15 th-cam.com/video/ZoIlikhe8lg/w-d-xo.html
      It works. I wanted to see if it was possible, but looking back a tad clunky. It all depends what you prefer and like to use. If love the iPhone and find it easier, then go for it. Otherwise, if you are willing to learn how to use ZVE-10 and Sigma 18-50mm, then the results will pay off eventually.

      Watched! Excellent! Very neat little rig you put together. I guess I'm looking to invest just enough money and time to get a nice looking professional shot, in controlled lighting, so I can focus on teaching. Hopefully set and forget on the tripod for the most part AFTER I do the necessary work to find that good shot in my space with my lights...

      @steveperry4243 In that case, I would recommend the ZV-E10 and Sigma lens. You can literally set it up on a tripod and leave it. Great camera and very affordable with the lens. The camera will last you for years to come. I would recommend in investing in a good mic if you don't have one already. All the best.

      @@ChuenL Thanks yes, I've got a pretty good mic for starting out.that's great to hear because good deals on zv-e10 can be found now in Canada. Thanks for your guidance I very much appreciate it.

    The old saying “The best camera is the one you have on you” pretty much describes the iPhone perfectly. It is literally ALWAYS on you! Plus the cameras & tech on the iPhones have improved so much that it really is an amazing all in one camera. Perfect for most people. Of course specialized subjects like wildlife & sports still benefit more with traditional cameras & better tele lenses, but the line is really blurring. I find the iphone is now my favorite camera for street photography. Smartphones are so ubiquitous that nobody pays attention to them on the street where as a person shooting with a huge dslr & lens will draw attention. And iphone cameras will only keep improving

    Hey, do you think you need more than the iphone these days for making youtube talking head style videos? Looks to me like the iphone would be just fine. Also do you use a teleprompter? Would be cool to get your thoughts on that, thanks

    • @beewh001
      @beewh001 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      IPhone is enough. All you need is good lighting and you are golden

    • @ChuenL

      iPhone works well pretty well. If you're using the front-facing camera, its easy to frame yourself. But if you are using the rear camera, its more difficult to frame yourself in the center of the video for talking head videos (if you are after that look). To solve that, you could get a USB-C hub with HDMI, and plug in a monitor. Yes, I use a teleprompter to keep me on point, otherwise I will ramble on!

      Some people use Apple Watch to show the screen the camera is using and strap it to the phone

    Iphone images are highly processed and they scream processed. And low light performance is really bad with iphone. Physics cannot be defied. But I am glad we have good cameras on phones so we can now take much better pictures when not carries real camera. I would rather buy a cheaper iphone than pro and spend the rest of money on a good camera.

    I observed a green colour cast on all the iPhone images, plus the HDR imposition which made images unnaturally vibrant. Sony inages were much more flat and natural a bit boring.

  • @jmiesn
    @jmiesn 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Sony zv e10 looks more natural and flatter than the iphone, also the colour is a bit exaggerated on the iphone

    One thing that Sony Zv E10 only captures in 8bit rate which I had some problems in Log 3 while color grading log 2 is a better option, but in iPhone you can record in apple pro Res which is a lot better

    I just wonder how good phone software could be if they would stop this oversharpening ting. I guess it is because tech blogers are always compare phone cameras with each other on basis of detailization, but little softer and saturated look is a sweet spot

    • @Shubham-hk6yf
      @Shubham-hk6yf 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Also they think brighter image is better. Phone cameras specially pixel phone photos look over HDR processed which brings more details from shadows and kills the whole vibe of the image

    So easy to guess which photo is taken by iphone/zv-e10. Iphone have better dynamic range due the ai post processing recognizing scene.
    I wonder if only the main camera uses the entire sensor. If so, then probably only the main camera can compete in terms of the amount of details that can be seen on the big screen.

  • @wtfgadget

    it's easy to tell because iPhone's images is oversharpened. I wonder if there will be a day where there are no gap between phone and mirrorless images

      Its post processed. Turn down light and turn up shadows, on photo tooked by zv-e10 in some app and there will be even better dynamic range. For more dynamic range you can use raw

    What makes the iPhone so powerful is its software. But with the E10, it's all about the lens options. The iPhone does so much processing that you might even think it's shooting better than an A7S III! But don't be fooled, that's just artificial.
