250 ohm beyers are not so easy to drive as people think, tube amps with high output impedance are the best for it. I personally use 600 ohm 880's additionally modded by custom cans, even on balanced connection my solid state 'class A' amp is not enough. Tubes on the other hand give them so much power that it transform into legendary headphones, amazing stuff just need to fly on power (warm like hell tube power)
I will be gaming a lot with these, which would be best an evo 4 interface or some other amp? And what amp or interface do you recommend that isn’t too expensive? I already have a mic that plugs with usb into pc, so not much issue with that. Thx.
Hey there! Good and really underrated review. I just bought the dt 880 pro, but like you said it sounds a bit muddy. So I just bought the evo 4, waiting for that to come in 👍
Hello Leizerg, I think this was a great video. I've been looking into purchasing these headphones but am so torn on my decision. I've been doing a lot of research and currently I use Logitch G933s (wireless) and want to upgrade. I am looking at either sticking with wireless and getting a SteelSeries Artic Pro Wireless or buying the Beyerdynamic DT880 Pros. As someone who has not experienced a higher quality headphone, will there be must difference between the SteelSeries Artic Pro Wireless and the DT880 Pros? The wireless is very convenient but as I've not experienced the difference between 32 ohms vs 250 ohms will it be drastic? Just after any information at all. I use a high end gaming pc, will that suffice to power the headphone or will I need to invest in an amp? Thank you :)
Hey! Honestly after some more time spent with wired headphnes, I think wireless is much more comfortable for everyday use. The difference in sound quality is noticable, but probably not as much as everyone thinks :) As for power, it should be enough but if you want the best experience, amp will be your best choice. If I was amking the choice today, I'd stick with gaming heapdhones - they are good enough.
Imaging , not soundstage 880 have bad soundstage , I recommend absolutely using an amp and dac not just the interface you are using and will definitely improve the sound quality
Thanks Anthony! For my needs however this is good enough :) I know Im probably crippling the device by doing it this way, but compared to my previous headphones the difference is noticeable!
Do you mean if the sound from the headphones might be picked up by a microphone? Yes it’s possible but you would have to set the volume high and have a very sensitive microphone.

You could first try it without any amp or interface. Should be OK to drive. Saves you some money. If you’re not happy then you can purchase something
