    Thank you Tonmoy for this informative video.
    However, regarding the 2nd argument, my understanding is that Chevron bracing in the frame alternatively carries compression and tension. When a lateral load is applied, one bracing member undergoes compression, resisting forces, while the other naturally experiences tension, counterbalancing the load. This dynamic interaction stabilizes the structure, efficiently transmitting axial forces to the columns for overall stability. I modelled the frame in Staad, and it shows the compression in one bracing and tension in the other, which could nullify the effect of moment in the beam. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    Not ok with argument 2. If go with your approach then vertical component of reaction will be in one leg. What about the uplift reaction on the other leg ?

    X bracing is ok as long as bracing are design for compresion also , not only tension.

    For the first argument, for example if the horizontal beam s failing due to slenderness can we take the advantage of 1/2 effecive length?
