      Awesome, I always love hearing that, glad you're enjoying the videos! The good news is that there are also quite a few women travelers on youtube, some of whom travel solo. So it is possible, though it can come with some added challenges, especially in certain parts of the world.

    You forgot to mention the scammers at the railway station that will try to point you in the "right direction" for the foreign ticket office but it's actually some other ticketing place that gives them kickbacks for overcharging tourists.

    You van buy Beer from Beer & Wine shop and drink in hotel room, it'll be 200% cheaper as compared to a restaurant. Like Kingfisher MRP is 90/- ($1.4) and so Budweiser, Hynekane, etc Whiskey is even much cheaper.

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The online evisa is the easiest way, you don't have to mail in your passport. Search around online for it. I think it's valid for two months. If you want to stay there longer then you will have to contact the Indian embassy nearest you and mail them your passport. It's a pain, but worth it.

    Some would call this exotic. Others see it as CHAOS -- none of the visual restraint that is a characteristic of Western cultures and Japan. Another missing visual organizer is the apparent lack of hierarchical grouping of objects. IKEA and MUJI could be helpful here.

    I stayed in Bloomrooms Paharganj, it used to be a family run hotel before so I just ended up there because I had stayed there before and its walking distance to the New Delhi Station.. The hotel has gone through a massive renovation but the courtyard is still an oasis of calm, its close to everything and the staff is friendly. A bit expensive for Paharganj standards but its was worth it. My only wish is that Indian people learn to know that beeping/tooting/honking is to only alert the driver in a dangerous situation. India is excessively noisy and filthy even for poor a country.

    You gotta be careful for perfectly english speaking young boys or persons, who refer you to fake state travel agencies!
    That Paharganj Bazaar is the place where it happens regularly!

      after just flying 10h to dehli, someone took me there and i was wanted to go to the foreign quota myself, someone passed me before the entrance and put me in a rickshaw to go to some other foreign quota.
      Not knowing about the metro i walked back to the market, and asked again for the state tourist office, and i ended up in such a place.
      after 8h talking someone sold me a fake travel and took 1.000 from my credit card. I initially took the bait and went to a shaby houseboat in srinaga, got food poisened at it and talked to the local police. Got a refund contract and made my way baack to delhi.
      Having a friend coming to dehli 4 days after i had ot deal with corrupted cops, a non helpful or informing german embassy and fought my way through it scheme. Ending up at a non corrupt sub-inspector that gave me a chance, i fought my money back wiuthout paying a "30% cancellation fee"
      But i had to go to the cheaters bank together with the cheater, tell them to "100% surely call the cops if i dont get my money and put the guy in jail today" and got my own contract with correct dates prepared and double checked and signed for my credit company.
      That market is hell for a westernized, secure sheep and you are surrounded by wolves!.
