I've also noticed that airflow design is very clever, the cool air enters the vent from the vents near the USB-C connector enter into the TB + NVMe controller PCB, and into the SSD chamber, then exit through the rear vents where the blower fan is located.

If you want to achieve a continuous speed of 40GB/s of TB3/4, you probably need a fan to cool it.

Is it possible to use double-sided ssd in this?
I'm not sure what you mean, but this one has a place for only one nvme.
I guess the extra space you see is related to heat separation.
@@HitzBakery There are two types of ssd's: single sided (like ie 990 Pro) or double-sided (like ie KC3000 2TB). Just type in google and you'll see what I mean

Mine was missing thermal pad.
Mine did not have this issue, but if you purchase it from Amazon, it should be easy to replace. They have the best customer service in the world.
why is the write speed so slow?
Maybe because he's not using TB port and using USB 3.2 instead? My SSD is WD SN770, and the write is 2000MB/s read is 3000MB/s. (tested on a M1 Mac with TB4 port)

@@troll3497 yes, using the same enclosure, the temperature on the case is below 40 degrees C, excellent. The fan is very quiet too.

@@Titus_von_Amecke I just got mine. The fan is extremely quiet, I've a Mac Studio, they are both very quiet siting next to each other. Heat dissipation is extremely effective, the case is aluminum on both side in order to cool both the SSD and the TB controller. The fan is not ON constantly, if you are not accessing the SSD, the fan is completely OFF. I measured the temp on case, and it's never above 40 deg C.
