All Macs (Macbooks, Minis and Studios) and only a MINORITY of Windows Laptops have that problem the usual windows laptop can be easily upgraded to 8 TB NVMEs, which in Case of damage can be easily user replaced whereas the MAC can be used as expensive doorstopper.
If I were to guess, during the large file copies the external drive was thermally throttling itself. Is the case made of plastic or metal? Thanks for sharing this video
Nice that you compared the size of this ACASIS to your Smartphone. Maybe develop your next video to please plug a USB to Ethernet adapter into this ACASIS 6-1. Does it work with your Windows? If yes, then separately plug your ACASIS via USB cable into your smartphone. If the Smartphone recognized your ACASIS SSD then I perceive YOUR ARE REALLY ONTO providing a little portable capability that I found very useful. A GREAT feature that works is to use Ethernet Tethering. Why? Because this allows my old 8-1 hub to extend the phones Internet DIRECTLY to the WAN IN port of a Router. MWAAAAHHHH my little Wi-Fi router works great to share the internet out to multiple devices then. If not, then I will wait until ACASIS includes a Ethernet port. Thanks for the inspirating video.
I have a simpler one (just the enclosure without the extra ports) from the same brand. You can turn the fan off or on, no additional controls, no automatic control. Mine is always on, never felt the need to disable the fan. It is not loud but does an excellent job of keeping my SSD cooled.
Mac users definetly would want this.

Great video ... excellent production quality and substantive content ... thank you so much for sharing!!
Fantastic video! I was comparing the various external storage enclosures, and you helped me find the best solution!
I'm curious to know what keyboard you're using 😅
What are those little up devices that are on one side and the other on your table in your videos?
Can you tell me something about warming up? In another TH-cam video, the Acasis 10-in-1 (which is not Thunderbolt) got really hot....
Did yours have a noise issue? The fan was incredibly loud on mine and I'm looking into fixes.
The only hear on mine the sound ow wind. But no other michanical sounds. Is this what your experiencing
Tks for another good review. Question on this: I use a dual drive Sabrent and the fan is really loud. How loud is the fan on this?
With the white noise in my office it's 36db. Its masked by other noises. So I can't get a good floor level db if that make sense
That was fan facing down

One question, does the fan control itself? Doe it turn on and off by it self? or do you have to manually turn in on and off?

Does the device offer power through (will it charge my connected iPad if a power source is connected to the DC in)?
Unfortunately not. No pass thru power
It's so noisy that it's not available. It's more noisy than my PC's total noise.
The fan?
@@ebpman yes
