I'm not an auto guy at all, this came on randomly but I really enjoyed this. The host's genuine enthusiasm and outgoing nature make this very enjoyable to watch!
I received alot of compliments on how nice my car looked. Thank you. I was given that saab back in the nineties, beat up and incomplete i put the car together as a toy because of the sunroof that ruined the body. I have $1500 dollars into it with $800 of that being paint. Can't find a cheaper thrill machine than that. Thanx again dennis for making my classic car look great.
I think I have this car in my garage I would set up a chair and just stare at it all day long and then drive it every now and then to get gas and the show it off. But when it's parked I probably just sit there looking at it. Great car my man great car
I still remember seeing a few of these on the road during the 1970's and even the '80's. I'm not a big Saab fan, but I'm glad you're keeping this car alive.
The Emerald Express really brought back memories! Back in the 80s I designed and built conversion vans for a little company in Ocala Florida called Camelot conversions!
The CAPRI was actually a british car which was also sold in germany but was originally designed for GB. Was first built in Dagenham in england later built in cologne germany Car was built as a european mustang and sales boomed when the last gen mk3 capri came sales struggled and consequently was only built in cologne and exported to uk only as UK was rather fond of it Being from the uk i grew up in them and still to this date love them with all my heart
@@2BArchives It's a 1980. Only enhancements for reliability was a switch to Pertronix Ignition and Coil. Chrysler ICM and ballast resistor are now gone. All emissions equipment removed, and exhaust changed to full dual with no catalytic converters.
we love you dennis gage, you have brought so much to the classic car culture, almost 500 episodes have been created, ive seen every one of them, life not the same without you dennis, you take us car nuts to a happy place no matter how much hell surrounds us, i cant wait to finish my classic car restoration, 10 years spent so far , he ave just a few months left to finish.
Wow these were some absolutely magnificent cars just beautiful. Thank you for putting this video together and posting it because I actually have not even seen some of these cars before. As far as I didn't even know what they were. And even like some of the special customization that you wouldn't see anywhere else. I even like the Capri at the end that was a pretty cool little car there I had no idea what that even was. But the 74 Emerald van was absolutely gorgeous I loved it I was born in 75 and all the vans from that era are just one of them my favorite types of vehicle. But this one really stands out above and beyond. Like I said great video thank you for sharing
Been going to this show for years. Last year was the first year I got to take my grandfathers roadster there and park with the fellow members of the local Model A club. Awesome show with well over a thousand cars annually.
I'm old and retired so I can plan my Saturdays around seeing My Classic Car in the morning. Always interesting cars, something you won't see anywhere else. As a kid, 60 years ago, a neigbor had a big Dodge Power Wagon, all black, not a tow truck and it made so much noise it kind of scared me. Not a fan of those custom vans but the story there is terrific. Thanks, Dennis.
The 70's vehicles sure were interesting. I graduated from college in '76 and for a bit of a vacation that year a friend of mine who owned a '72 Capri gave me a daytime ride to San Diego ( I lived in Newport Beach) and back. The van-thing had been popular for a few years by that time and I recall seeing some with huge graphics on the sides, usually by Frazetta (if I'm remembering correctly) and it was always some busy, over the top battle scene with some too - muscular red eyed guy with a huge blade over his head. I think it was known as "The Berserker".......odd. Cool, however to see the Emerald Express taken care of so well.
As a bump and Paint guy from the 60's - 70's I couldn't count how many guys had me "KILL" those lace paint jobs... On most motorcycles I'd respray the Tanks and fenders/guards(Australia) and either airbrush a real mural or just a pin strip job... add some urethane hardener to some "One Shot"lettering enamel then I could clear it with a urethane clear coat.... I made a ton doing vans for Detroit car dealerships ... I had an old Chevy long wheel base (they only came with 6 bangers and a three speed), and an old friend of mine put in a 283 V8, headers and a Holly 4 barrel ... took the kids everywhere, the only bad side was putting soft drinks in the wall mounted cooler as I had to keep stopping for my boys to relieve themselves...my bad ... still have all my gold leaf tools and all my MACK and French quills for that rare odd pin strip job ...
they are hard to find in this kind of shape but do pop up mine is a 75 gmc lrp conversion if i can find the date for 2021 i'd like to come up with mine.
at 2:17 is a '77 Can Am Lemans. I bought a new one with black bench seats at Grossinger in Chicago when I lived in Schaumburg. Sold it and regretted it, as I loved the look. I think this is the second Can Am I've seen on My Classic Car.
So I am guessing that Pierce Park is named after the Pierce family in Appleton. The Pierce family started the family named company that currently manufactures fire apparatus, Pierce Manufacturing. The company is located right in Appleton but is now owned by Oshkosh. I wonder how many of the company employees had cars/trucks at the show? Great episode Dennis!
At 52 seconds is mine and my wifes van! 1975 Plymouth Voyager! Original paint. My dad bought it new in 1975. Untouched and unrestored! All created by my dad. Michael Osieczanek. The engine rebuilt 318 by Teresa's dad Lloyd Ort!
Great show & awesome venue!! 👍👍 I lived in Appleton for a couple years (also Green Bay & Michigan’s UP) & folks up there are very passionate enthusiasts of their classic cars! I live in SC now... tired of the ❄️ 🥶🤣
I've never heard of a Saab Sonet III before but after hearing all the modifications the guy made, I looked up pictures of an untouched original and omg it looks drastically better with the bumper still on and the pop-up headlights. That guy ruined the design the engineers went for. Anyone who's also curious feel free to look it up too. It really is more stunning all original.
The Sinclair Dodge 6x6 was cool. Really rare to see a Capri. I’ve been to quite a few shows in my years; and this was like the third one I’ve seen. I’d love to see a modern Pro Touring take on one of those. Perhaps turbo charged or a Ls. Coil-overs all around. It would be pretty epic.
If I had that Chevy Van I would keep it the way it is except for two little things: replace the 8-track with a cassette radio so I can listen to my old cassettes and I would replace that old TV.
At 0:05 for about a tenth of a second they show a maroon 1949 Willys Jeepster. I had one of those way back in 1969, it was my first car. I loved that car and could now kick myself for ever selling it
Make your plans now to be part of the 2019 Appleton Old Car Show & Swap Meet, Sunday, July 21, 2019, back at Pierce Park in Appleton,Wisconsin. More info here: www.appletonoldcarshow.com
Omg Dennis, 3 more green vehicles??? Please... There is white, black, gold, silver red, yellow...and so many other cars in different colors. I think 3 green vehicles for show is definitely out of control. There were so many awesome and interesting cars at the introduction of the show that I hope there is a second or third show later that is showing some of those as well. I know green is your fav color but can we limit then to just 1(maybe 2 the most) cars, please? I imagine you are also for this "New Green Deal" as well?🚗🚓🚘 👍
We even commented on how many green cars we did that day while we were shooting the show, but it was an accident this time. Honest. They were all great cars and they just happened to be green. After this ep tho I may have to join GCA. Green Cars Anonymous.
No. The show airs weekly on MotorTrend Network, NBC Sports Network, MAVTV and Rev's. And it's also available here on TH-cam. It is in production for its 25th year. This episode was shot in 2018.
I really dig the Emerald Express but I'm not understanding why it was being knocked and made fun of so much. What is so blasphemous about 8 tracks? Why does 12 speakers sound terrible? And no, the tube TV will not blow up if you turn it on. What kind of bullshit are we stuck with today? Cold, hard aluminum and silver and steel. Back in the 70s that's what we had. in 40 years from now we'll be making fun of the year 2019. Right?
Love vans and shagging wagons but the whole carpet thing , I don't care about being period is Gross considering what they should be used for . Pure petri dishes and dirt , dust and mold sponges . The other aesthetics are fine but that carpet and fir should be left in the 7o s.
These 70's vans are so cool. The vans need to come back in style.
I'm not an auto guy at all, this came on randomly but I really enjoyed this. The host's genuine enthusiasm and outgoing nature make this very enjoyable to watch!
I received alot of compliments on how nice my car looked. Thank you. Because it's SWEEEEEEEEET!!

The Emerald Express really brought back memories! Back in the 80s I designed and built conversion vans for a little company in Ocala Florida called Camelot conversions!
I worked for Royal Vans of Texas in Round Rock Texas back in the 80s. I also knew the guys Third Coast Vans in Austin.
I often drive to Ocala. Is that company still around? Just asking from one ex-New Yorker to another.
Been watching my Classic car for years. Just keeps getting better.
Same
Terry Corvette; Agree first car program I ever watched in 97 hadn't stop since
@@robertputt7794 yes, when is it

Love that van. A shaggin wagon done right.
That's my Dodge Mirada CMX at 00:38 that intros into this episode. Had as usual a great time at Pierce Park!
That's awesome. What year is it? Guessing '82...?
@@2BArchives It's a 1980. Only enhancements for reliability was a switch to Pertronix Ignition and Coil. Chrysler ICM and ballast resistor are now gone. All emissions equipment removed, and exhaust changed to full dual with no catalytic converters.
Saw the damned thing and straight to the comments, its a shame its only on for 2 seconds.
Here for the van
Wow, I Love ❤ looking at those wonderful old Cars!!! So nice.........
I was in a couple van clubs in the late 70s and early 80s. Some of the paint was amazing.
we love you dennis gage, you have brought so much to the classic car culture, almost 500 episodes have been created, ive seen every one of them, life not the same without you dennis, you take us car nuts to a happy place no matter how much hell surrounds us, i cant wait to finish my classic car restoration, 10 years spent so far , he ave just a few months left to finish.
Loved that guys SAAB story😂🤣😂🤣

Some really cool and unusual cars, yet the Emerald Express is my favourite in this episode ! ♥
Been going to this show for years. Last year was the first year I got to take my grandfathers roadster there and park with the fellow members of the local Model A club. Awesome show with well over a thousand cars annually.

I have seen a lot of Kaisers but this is the first Frazer I have seen. It's amazing there are any left let alone in such good condition.
OMG, Dennis is such a good guy!
Thanks!

Dennis, Thanks for the visit to our hometown. It's a great show.
I've seen this car many times in real life, always impressed by it.
I drove that Capri 2, it’s sweet! Thanks Eric.
love that intro band.
in the 70's there were 1000's of these vans like this where did they all go?
"Modernized "
they are hard to find in this kind of shape but do pop up mine is a 75 gmc lrp conversion if i can find the date for 2021 i'd like to come up with mine.
Appreciate Dennis and this show a lot more now. All these cool towns with great shows.
✨ I love" Emerald Express ".
The Frazer is a super wow car. Great video
I agree that car is pretty cool

This is my favorite show of the year here in wisconsin
The emerald express is awesome I’d love to build a van like that super cool
7:42 That Olds VISTA CRUISER is sweet station wagon, it reminds me of the one from THAT 70's SHOW.
The old Power Wagon Wrecker is my favorite
I really dig classic car shows cruise-in , auctions and swap meets ! 👍🏁✌
I totally love the name shaggin wagon
Love That Chevy Van! ✌
The best show ever....thank you Dennis !
Good to hear "Offy"! Offenhauser
2:21 that is an awesome wrecker would own of those myself
Good show again. Snow and rain here.

looks like everone had a great time seen a lot of cool cars in the background a years worth the material
'72 Vista Cruiser is the coolest wagon to ever see the road.
The '72 Vista Cruiser was the last year that it had the Vista windows. I still can't believe they called it a Vista Cruiser from 1973 and later.
HI there, used to drive a '69 Ford Capri V4 in the early '90s. Awesome car with a unique motor sound.
At 52 seconds is mine and my wifes van! 1975 Plymouth Voyager! Original paint. My dad bought it new in 1975. Untouched and unrestored! All created by my dad. Michael Osieczanek. The engine rebuilt 318 by Teresa's dad Lloyd Ort!

Nearly Every boy racer had a capri in the uk
The Ford capri.. they were common as hell in the UK in the 80's. The one on this vid is a Ford Capri mk3, probably a 2.8 or 3.0.
Its a tandem, not a dually
Love the Capri
i rly like this guy
If I had that Chevy Van I would keep it the way it is except for two little things: replace the 8-track with a cassette radio so I can listen to my old cassettes and I would replace that old TV.
that would be a crime to replace the 8 track tape player and tv they are original and need to stay. i have a 1975 gmc lrp van all original.
Yeah you are actually right, I would keep it the way it was.
O melhor programa de classicos antigos, mesmo não falando inglês assisto sempre que posso.
very very nice 6x6 wrecker
PLEASE PUT A CUMMINS BT6 in there
There was a '54 Burgundy Packard Convertible with the side trim removed that looked elegant. I'm sorry that you didn't get a chance to review it.
Saab should have made a modern day Sonnet sports car! Would have made a great image car for the company!
So many cars...so little time! You could easily spend hours showing these off on here.
Agree
Just making me drool! Can't wait for shows here in TN, but until then, your videos will suffice :)
that Ford Capri is from Europe!
That Emerald Express van is like the Tardis inside , bigger in the inside..
Hopefully I get to meet Dennis this year. He's supposed to be coming back to Maryland for the Ridgly car show
I'll be there!
Great!!
Love your videos Dennis! Keep em coming buddy!
P.s the Capri 2 also
1:27 hey baby!
At 0:05 for about a tenth of a second they show a maroon 1949 Willys Jeepster. I had one of those way back in 1969, it was my first car. I loved that car and could now kick myself for ever selling it
I wish I knew you were in Wisconsin! I would of came to meet you!
6:50 that car is nice

U Can See That European cars Are With Small , But Powerfull Engines, In America Everything Is HUGE !

So that's why all those car trailers were driving around
If you have enough footage, do 2 or 3 videos from the same show. I saw a few cars I would love to see more of. Thanks!
Does the Emerald Express smell like the 70s too?
He removed the pop up headlights on the Sonnet, why?
I love the theme song for th intro. It is possible to know what song it is or who sings it?
I have a 1979 b200 Sportsman. And I can't find the belt diagram. Help please 🙏
“Dually” “You keep using that word, but i dont think it means what you think it means.”
Inconceivable!
My Brother lives in Appleton. What time of the year does this show take place ?
It's going to be July 21st for 2019

My brother has a 80 Dodge Street Van
What is that engine at 2:15??
im pretty sure capris was uk made tho ?
That was a different car, but it is true that there was an English Ford model called Capri.
👍💖
Wow so weird I live in Wisconsin and my grass isn't green yet.
So? Are you producing the show just for TH-cam now? How old is the episode?
👍
No. The show airs weekly on MotorTrend Network, NBC Sports Network, MAVTV and Rev's. And it's also available here on TH-cam. It is in production for its 25th year. This episode was shot in 2018.
Is this a newly created episode? If so I swear Dennis doesn’t age a minute it seems!
were just gonna gloss over the bugatti SC atlantic right
Is this Canada?
No, Wisconsin.
I really dig the Emerald Express but I'm not understanding why it was being knocked and made fun of so much. What is so blasphemous about 8 tracks? Why does 12 speakers sound terrible? The carpet on Emerald Express looks like bud. Just saying.
Ford Capri made in Germany??? Really?? Thought they were built in the UK.
That's a completely different car, but you're right. There was an English Ford car called the Capri.
deleted popups on a sonett? shame.
His car. He gets to pick.
The Capri is English Not German.
Not that "Capri"!
Ford Capri mk3.
Ah yeah baby; smells like a petting zoo up in here
