    Nice Job on the Time lapse, we are getting ready to do an install and wanted to refresh my memory.

    I would’ve liked to see what product you used for glue and close up of tools. Also how to make cuts and a reminder to leave room at the edges for expansion but it was fun to watch in fast motion. Thanks

    Is gluing better than nailing? I should google this, but there may be some superior tips I don't want to miss from this channel. In case.

    Great job! I really like the colour of the wood. Can you tell me what brand/colour the wood is?

    I do have a question if you glow down your hardwood floor on concreate, do you need a gap between of the floor and the wall

    Can I ask you a question I have a room that is 533 sq ft and I've already purchased enough engineered wood flooring to cover my floor. My question is how much should I expect to have to pay someone to install it glued down over a concrete slab, including removing the carpet that I have already installed in the room? And remove the the baseboards, glue down the flooring and reinstall the base boards im just wondering how much should I expect to pay per sq ft for labor only? I live here in Katy Texas a small town right outside of Houston, idk if my area matters or not for the price? I would really appreciate if anyone could possibly give me an idea on how much is a reasonable price to expect to pay per sq ft or for the whole 533 sq ft job? I have some contractors coming next week to give me some estimates but since I am a woman and I have no idea how is the asking price for labor and I just don't want to be taken advantage of since I'm a single mom of 4 kids...I can't afford to over pay but yet I want someone that has experience doing this type of job that will do it correctly and I understand that good work doesn't come cheap either. Thanks in advance to anyone that can aanswer my questions.

    Taking down two rows at a time in open feild. Weak sauce. If that is what I think it is though alcohol based) can get sticky quick. Which is why it's awesome it's can be reactivated.

    What’s the material you put under the wood floor? I saw some people only out a layer of plastic foam. Thanks for explain it a bit😇

      It's glue. There's multiple ways to secure a wood floor, float it with a pad, nail or glue. Since the surface is concrete you can't nail it down unless you put down a plywood subfloor and float it (pad). Floating is the cheap way to do it. Glueing or nailing provides a more firm surface which feels higher quality when walking on it. There's a lot of considerations to make on which method. If you do a plywood subfloor and nail it now the floor might be too high and the doors need to be trimmed on the bottom.

      Fit it tight and apply caulking to any gaps.

    Awesome video! Would you ever recommend a layer of cork or PVC layer between the hardwood and the concrete? I’m going to install engineered hardwood over my concrete floors and wondering what the best way is

      5mm gold underlay and fit the floor as a floating floor with 5mm underlay, will stop the creaking and the hassle of getting a glue down floor up

      Better of with 5mm gold underlay and glueing together with wood glue as a floating floor

    Why did you choose to remain on the subfloor while installing the boards after spreading the glue once you past the first few rows?

    • @justice6603
      @justice6603 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From my experience That glue is messy and a pain to clean so it's just easier to stay off as you install as much as possible

    Wait….metal hammers with hardwood floors?? Why not rubber mallets sure more expensive but way worth it can do a lot more with them

    Why use that glue ??? Once the floors are locked in in place they don’t go anywhere.I never seen a point with that glue

    • @handymanrobroy5846
      @handymanrobroy5846 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are not locking floors they are tongue and Grove so they would come apart

    • @RoninCC
      @RoninCC ปีที่แล้ว

      some manufacturers specify using glue installing if there is a radiant heated floor beneath. Tongue and groove and nail/staple will not be able to handle radiant heating
