Would you recommend starting with the original Aeons End or could you jump in with this new one? I think the art work is so much better with this one.... thanks!
Aetherscope is not correct. Its not add 2 to that mage, its steal one from another player to give two to only you, yourself. His playstyle is "scratch my back i'll scratch yours." he is also good to combo with players that have bad supers not worth charging for, because there is some like it
Great video. I noticed all the increase difficulty boxes in the nemesis are blank. Do they get added as stickers later in or do they lack d An increased difficulty completely.
I might have missed it, but the half-monster lady on the box didn't appear in the video? Is she a super secret character or did they put someone on the box who is actually going to be in the expansions?
One nice touch of theme I just noticed (spoiler for Aeon's End Legacy): . . . . . . ... The new mages' cards show the surface world in the background. New Gravehold lives!
the only issue with skipping over legacy and going right to new age is that you'll have two significant story reveals from legacy spoiled. new age takes place after the events of legacy, and directly refers to them. so if you don't care about the ongoing narrative of the last survivors and gravehold, then go ahead and skip... you can always come back to legacy later because it's basically another expansion that you can mix and match with everything else. also, if you're skipping legacy because you don't like legacy games, you do realize you can completely skip the story there, simply open all envelops to get all the stuff, and treat it like another standalone expansion (like War Eternal) :)
As 4 mages is a requirements for the "campaign" system, I'm curious how this plays a 2, while having to control 2 mages each. I've only played 2 player/2 mages. 2 mages each seems like it would be cumbersome and unwieldy.
there are 4 mages in your 'expedition party' (or 'barracks' as the rules call it) but you only use the number of mages equal to the number of players in each fight (like normal). the 'barracks' is just a pool you can choose from when getting ready for the fight. normally you have lots of mages to choose from when you play, but when you're on an expedition, you've only got the 4 who set out into the world.
sorry this isn't to do with this game, but i'm trying to find the name of a game rahdo did a while ago. a card game where you are a princess trying to escape a castle/tower can be played solo and i think you draw 5 cards per turn.
I wish they'd stop with this standalone set crap. This is the 4th big box that includes basic cards, tokens etc. They always include the option to get older stuff on their Kickstarters so I don't see the point of not making this a smaller exp that only has the extra stuff. But people seem to gobble them up regardless so...fully expect Aeon's End 5 on KS in less than an year...
it's simply better for the long term viability of the franchise to make each box standalone. it bring in more players by creating easier entry into the system, while not driving the price up at all (see the first post of this thread for a breakdown of how it actually saves you money: www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/2150068/value-core-box-expansion-based-small-box-expansion) so it's kind of win win all the way around :)

i would start with legacy myself, then this, then original AE or War Eternal :)
Gygar has amazing synergy with some of the other mages.

I hate to say it i didnt enjoy New Age, the bosses in this one were just anoying and we completed it in one day.
One of the best reviews about this Aeons End edition. I buy it after watching it.

Will I miss something if I didn’t get the legacy game? I both have the base game and WE, and this new age got me interested more than legacy.
