Thank you for this chat as I deal with a 1 yr old male Border Collie Buddy in my garden .I have done a fence around my whole garden to keep him out which is made from his old pen , and no more bunny’s so it’s a win win !!
We had a dog like Bri'anna's who knew not to go in the garden beds. But when she went to the Big Doggy Park in the sky, our new rescue pup caused some grief. Dogs like to patrol (run along) the perimeter of their property. Our back fence faces the golf course. After loosing several shrubs, to trampling, we ended up transplanting our hydrangea hedge away from the fence and moved it forward about 3 feet. Now we are all happy. Pup can run along the back fence and we can still enjoy our shrubs. We did use a motion activated sprinkler to keep her our of the side beds which we previously used for the bunnies. She is starting to figure out her parameters.
Because life got in the way I missed the window to send in any advice/photos. Please have another episode (Dogscaping 2!) for those of us who might've missed this one. Great advice and photos. Love this show :D ~Everyone thinks they have the best dog in the world, and none of them are wrong
We certainly will have another one in the future! If you want to send us some photos to help@gardeningsimplifiedonair.com we can see about getting you a shirt still 🤗
My 6 pound shitzu leaves yellow spots in the lawn so I’m gradually getting rid of the grass by planting more gardens..😊 it never kills the plants, but only the turf. Great show.
I won’t pretend to know the science but I feed my dogs real food, cooked chicken livers, sweet potatoes , and other human grade stuff…my dog’s pee spots are like whacky growth fertilizer
I’m an avid dog rescue video watcher and I’ve seen many where dogs get pieces of wood stuck in their mouth and can’t eat or drink. Dogs who like to play with mulch may be at risk so their parents or sitters should be aware of that. The best show in my opinion. A combination of all my favorites. Plants, dogs and education. Thanks a lot 🐕🦺🌿🌲✏️🎓🚌
We have a good selection of plants for a privacy hedge with part shade! Maybe you could consider something like North Pole arborvitae? www.provenwinnerscolorchoice.com/product/north-pole-arborvitae/
I do not have a dog though I am an animal lover. They do mess up the lawn on the town right of way but most walkers know to walk them near the curb and so it’s not much of a problem. It’s very important to have pets so I am fairly tolerant of their habits. Most walkers do clean up after their dogs. I have had cats that roam the neighborhood and they have their annoying habits to homeowners who do not appreciate their gift giving tendencies. Ie dead rodents birds in the lawn or at the doorstep to thank the person for the treats. 🤷🏻♀️🐈🌸
Hi ?? Question?? All my begonia leaves are ripping and shredded pieces fall off. Does it have anything to do with fertilizer? Should I put plantone in the potting mix and forget the water soluble when I plant the bulbs /corms in May?
Without looking at the begonias but based on your description (ripped and shredding) I'm going to guess possibly slugs are doing the damage at night especially if the begonias are in a shady wet spot? Also in regards to bulbs Espoma makes a product called "BulbTone" you can work into the soil.

Yes! Mulch can be a big issue for some dogs who take to chewing it!
