I was really fortunate to get time to talk with Gunter and Uwe Eickert about a project they were working on, and let me tell you, these two are incredibly sharp. They love games and they so clearly understand how to think about designing mechanics and an engine to drive gameplay.
I know a lot of people are worried about their last kickstarter, Stellaris... which is over due to be delivered. I backed it too, but I'm not worried about it because they take their time and make high quality games.
Like you, I backed Stellaris... but I am not worried. Academy Games will send out the game when they are satisfied with it... and not a minute before. However, if you read the Comments on the Kickstarter page... Uwe is the most evil man that ever walked the Earth. Nothing could be further from the truth! As for Storms of Steel... It is a great system... and a fun game! I waited for a long time for it to arrive... but it was well worth the wait.
I have 1st edition of this game. Still unpunched. Not sure if it’s worth playing if 3rd edition is out now. From what I can work out significant changes and improvements have been made.
agree, this is a great system. i have awakening the bear. i like both the 2nd and 3rd edition systems. 2nd is more euro like. 3rd is more organic and realistic. i still play both depending on my opponent preference. its like having two games in one.

In my opinion this is the best tactical system on the market. Hopefully once Stellaris is done they will come out with the next Volume in the series!

Academy Games has produced some great games, my favorite is Freedom: The Underground Railroad a very enlightening game 👍🏼
Always wanted to play that game. So hard to get in Canada though. I think the only way I'll get to play is on TTS.
