Nice to see you cover this. Always been one of my favorite games and I have covered it extensively. If you like this then you would probably like LNL Tactical & World at War 85 as well. Both excellent with similar type solo systems.
Excited to see One Stop Co-op Shop covering this. I've had this for a while and only managed to play it twice. I had an easier time playing both sides, but I was actually just planning on taking the solo expansion again. The rulebook is solid but it feels like so many details.
Nice gameplay and it seems you had fun! In COH living rules folder you can find many Atb3 converted to solo missions. The famous, the monsters, KV2, Monster Tanks - Göringstrasse, are all inside. Probably you already know it. If i remember well they use the hexes of the second edition so good news for the old owners at least..
Great question, and unfortunately no. You need the solo expansion in any case (it has the solo activation deck and other materials). Once you have that, you can get away with the second or third edition of Awakening the Bear.
Academy was giving these out at their booth at GenCon when I bought 2d Edition (a few years back, now). It's handy, for sure. It is basically just a 'retractable badge lanyard', if you search that term on Amazon (or other retailers) you'll find about a thousand varieties. Hope this helps!
What do I have to do to play the 2nd Edition solo expansion with third edition? I read that there are problems because the maps have different numbers, but is that all? Can I play this expansion with 3rd edition?
All I remember is the numbering of maps. I don't remember any other major issues. But it's been 3 years since I played this, so I'd recommend you check on the BGG forums for a more trustworthy answer :)
Hi can i ask which version of solo expansion you have? Based on the rules and the solo points track it look like version 3. What is the year of printing? Thank you
Looks fun but maybe not for me. I think I prefer DVG leader solo system and there are still a couple of them I haven't played into exhaustion. With this type of game I prefer just playing both sides with no solo system in play, but thanks for showing it off!
This is a great game with outstanding components and elegant play, but I just can’t stand the way they release version 3 with rules 2 using maps cross referencing chart T3 to see which hex number to use. Too much aggro

Thanks for watching! I played Lock and Load forever ago, but I remember enjoying it :)

Yeah, both sides works really well, since you only have the action cards as a hidden element. But I enjoy the true solo play too :)
Thanks for this video, I'm a new gamer about to play this for my first time. Very much needed this
Hope you have fun playing!
Thanks, a great video! Nicely explained and edited tightly. Just yesterday played the first mission solo and this cleared some of the rules for me.
Glad it helped!
Love learning about a new game, searching for a playthru video and finding that One Stop Co-op already has a video.
We predicted you would need it! Mwahaha

What is the "Living rules folder"?
Nice video!
I love your enthusiasm as you play this very entertaining mate.
Thank you!
I need to get this back on the table... Nice video, Mike. I'm pretty sure you made fewer goofs than I usually manage - lol.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have played the digital version, would love to see you play that one
I'm hearing good things!
So in the beginning you mentioned the different versions, do you only need the 3rd edition for solo play now?

The los measuring tool looks very handy. Any links?
I looked for it on Academy’s webstore and couldn’t find it! I have no idea where it’s located. Sorry :(
@@OneStopCoopShop Lol! Never mind I will find it sooner or later!
You can use my $1 thrifty clear plastic 40cm measuring ruler method. Not as elegant as his but just as accurate sir.

I found LNnL's solitaire to be so meaningless that I sold off the game. This is much better. Thanks for the playthrough.
I skimmed the rules of that one but never tried it. Wasn’t confident in what I saw 😅

I don’t have it anymore, but yes I believe it was 3rd
Thank you
What edition are you covering? 2 or 3? I got edition 2
Both. The core game is 3rd edition, but the solo set is technically for 2nd edition. It’s confusing

I think I’m generally with you. This one seems great for multiplayer, but if I’m going to play solo I might prefer Castle Itter or the like.
light woods dont cost 2
Shoot, you're right! Too used to other wargames I guess :)

It was usually clear enough to me, looking at the map, but totally agree it's annoying!
Something that I did and I would suggest is to edit the pdf mission book with the correct hex numbers and then print it.
