- Dr. Kimberly Engels interviews Matthew Roberts, former US Naval cryptologist and author of Initiated. Together they discuss Roberts' strange experiences with the phenomenon following his station on the USS Theodore Roosevelt during the infamous Gimball incident. Using Husserl's concepts intentionality and Sartre's concept of existential rupture, they analyze the variety of anomalous occurrences and profound value and worldview changes that unfolded in the aftermath of his experience with UAP.

Maybe I missed it, but why does Matthew’s screen name say “Matthew Matlaga”? And not Matthew Roberts?
from interweb: Spanish (Málaga): habitational name from the city named Málaga, capital of the province of the same name in Andalusia. The placename appears in Latin as Malaca, but it is older, possibly Phoenician, meaning 'port of refuge'. 🙏🏼

Enjoyed that. I had a ufo experience of my own in March and find many parallels in this discussion. What shocked me most was this 38:30 - the overtly biblical nature of the symbolism. I'm not at all religious! There was a purpose to the encounter, insights gained, a healing that followed. I suspect that what I encountered was another part, future part of higher part, of my own consciousness. But whatever, it was a very kind intervention, and I am very grateful.

I've already started some of these steps--but I did not know, or realize, that I was on the right track. I purchased the book-which happened to be on sale
I love love his story I remember him from Netflix story and have gone back and just watched him tell his story.
Waking life is just a more consistent dream. I have found Tom Campbell to be the best teacher for me in this regard.

I read the book a few weeks ago and was intrigued with Matt’s encounters, i actually discovered a lot about mythology I knew nothing about. One has to be very open minded to this subject, I delved into this phenomena 5 years ago and was fascinated by it, at first it was the nuts n bolts and then it becomes more conscious related more spiritual, science now suggests the universe is conscious and humans have that ability to connect if we practice meditation. It’s a great read and makes you think about us as human beings and what we are etc. 🫶🏼❤️
Multiple dimensions that we can’t see. Maybe sometimes they cross over ours. Just briefly and then back they go to where they came from.
Thanks, this had meaning for me. Some of what was said was in line with what I suspected,as far as religion and this phenomenon. I think the uap trail will windup the very thing the religion has been trying to say.

The Archetype of Initiation by Robert L. Moore. Please read it! Also, there’s this book called The Master and His Emissary that explains a lot about the right and left hemispheres of the brain which is something you really need to understand in order to grasp the phenomena. I know I sound arrogant, I don’t mean to. But this is so important. What’s on the other side of this thing is (quoting Whitley Streiber) “a whole new world if we can take it.” This is about the transformation of our consciousness.
My personal opinion is if you are having sexual (entity) encounters- that it may be demonic-or entities that may not have your best interest at heart-they can slide into this experience if you are not careful--still great conversation-lots of insights to explore😇
I don't know. It's difficult to know. What you say seems right, but I have sneaking suspicion that man has injected his own biases into scripture. I had the obbset occurrence. During a sexaul encounter I had an out of body experience where all around us were people in robes and hoods,just watching. That was really weird, and I don't know what to think of it. I never got a bad vibe, so to speak. It's just strange. I don't know what sex has to do with this, but it is involved.
@@tomdorman2486 maybe hidden desire combined with the ACTUAL experience being used to cover some layer of shame-I did not hear any bias with regard to scripture-and every experience is unique-but if you're going to use scripture -you can't rule out the Book Of Enoch describing the entities interest in sex-otherwise I don't know WHY a spiritual entity -alien or UAP would place itself on top of you-not saying it did not happen- just wondering WHY
@UAP_Close_Encounters your probably right. My point is that sin may be a human invention. I don't think it was in the earlier translation of the Bible. But I really am not any kind of expert. I'm just a guy trying to make sense of the crazy world. One thing I'm pretty sure of is that we have it all wrong and need to look at everything with a fresh eye. I hope I haven't offended you.

I can’t put my finger on it, but I never bought into this guy’s stories after the main incident. Like he’s just trying to ride the wave of fame of the 2004 story. Just my opinion.
