I took bus driving lessons in a Citaro and I can tell you he stopped pressing the kickdown. I once pressed on ot and kept pressure on the throttle and in around 15 seconds it was going 100km/h
Euro 6 mapping means it wont be as punchy as say a Euro 4 or 5, OM904 engined Citaros sound a lot nicer at lower revs than the OM936 which only sounds good with the kickdown.
Not bad for a bus. 10 seconds to 50 kph and about 24 seconds to 80 kph. Shame it's limited to this speed. A coach is slightly faster if fitted with a zf box like this vehicle.
in my company, we have like 50 citaro's, a few Integro's and a few Volvo 9700. Ok... the citaro is the slowest one, but it's every drivers favourite. So easy to drive and the most effective one when u load and unload passengers. I sure hope the day they retire these citaro's, they will buy a new batch of citaro's :)
Its the same at our company. We have mostly citaros of different generations, some Scania CityWide and 3 Solaris Urbino 12. Scania are ok, the Solaris are piles of crap but everybody loves the Citaros.
Les 100 kmh, au cas de modifier electroniquement la vitesse maximale autolimitée, s'obtiennent aux 1815 tr/min en 6ème. C'est un peu bizarre qu'au moment d'arriver aux 80 kmh l'autobus ne change pas de 5ème à 6ème, même si l'accélérateur est cloué...

On customer demand they fit the larger 10.7L-engines from the 3-axle-version into the 2-axle chassis...those go like hell

Probably an older model than this. They usually have a whole lot more punch than the newer models.

That’s pretty bad, many do that in the same time without anything near full throttle

this bus is faster than my car! I mean on full flat acceleration it takes 40 sec to get 100km/hr...... I think this bus could do that in 30sec!

Il est bloqué en mode kickdown (sport régime moteur)
