I'm an IVF dad, now divorced. My main concern is that many times there is no counseling or support recommended for couples counseling OR for the dad. Feelings of being a sperm donor and ATM are prevalent in the IVF dad discussion groups I've seen. The other aspect is the hormonal swings in IVF (Lupron etc) are downplayed.

Thank you so much for sharing and such a valid point!! Fortunately I didn’t experience the effects of the hormonal shifts but MANY women do and don’t know how to handle the emotions and then the spouse gets the brunt of it. Yes!! Counseling!! I don’t know why this isn’t talked about ahead of time! IVF is so hard on the relationship, and there’s definitely not enough support. Moral aspect is tough. I’m
Going on second transfer and wondering how many I can mentally go through but we have 9 embryo still and I feel like I owe it to them to try for each one. But what happens if none stick? I so wish as someone with high antral follicle count this was a part of the education. Now I’m stuck with these really hard decisions. I didn’t know all the meds for FET either lol they only educated me on the stim cycle! Why?! Hahah… My heart goes out to anyone going through this 💕 you’re all strong!

You are the sweetest and bravest human to share all of this!! It’s truly AMAZING you have so many embryos because most people face the disappointment of not having enough. So I never thought of the other side of it…what do you do with too many embryos??
I’m so incredibly sorry your first transfer failed. I pray your second one is a success and you are holding your little one in no time💕
All I can say is one thing at a time, one step at a time. All you can do is what you CAN do.
Mentally I cope with reminding myself that none of us really know what’s right and what’s wrong when it comes to these things. Some of us THINK we know because we have our beliefs, but that’s all that they are, BELIEFS.
Keep doing what’s best for YOU and your partner. Keep loving on yourself and life has a funny way of working itself out. You got this girl! Never forget that you are a testimony to others and you are worth it!!❤️

Yeah, the progesterone killed me. Not just the intramuscular pain, but it completely messed with me internally. Horribly constipated (didn’t have a proper poop for a month), such sore boobs it hurt to walk, cramps that made me think I was pregnant, all that pain and discomfort and I had a perfect embryo 4AA grade, perfect endometrial thickness, and still not pregnant. I definitely don’t think I can go through this again, devastated that I’ll never have children.

Hi Brittany, your videos are awesome! They really help. I am about to undergo an IVF cycle, and I am losing it. Completely overwhelmed by anxiety and fear. Super afraid of painful procedures like egg retrieval, all the possibilities of how it can go wrong and most of all pain afterwards. My clinic already said they are not going to prescribe powerful pain meds and I have to rely on Tylenol or Advil. How was the pain for you? How was recovery? How long did the pain last? And did you have good meds to deal with it. Thank you so much for your work and all your videos.

Hi! And all normal feelings!! It’s a big deal to start IVF and everyone handles it differently. Everyone has a little bit of a different medicine protocol as well. I can only speak from my own experience but from many women I’ve talked to, the shots and the egg retrieval surgery were not as bad as they thought. Honestly the harshest part is keeping your mind healthy and positive
Yes things can go wrong because it’s considered surgery but the egg retrieval process is very routine now so the likelihood something will go is very slim. Also they go through the vagina so no incisions are made. I had very slight cramming right after but not enough to take anything not even Tylenol. It’s not supposed to be a painful surgery
One step at a time and one shot at a time. You got this girl!!

Thanks for sharing. Agree with the embryo testing: it helps you reduce miscarriages. But: (1) it does disregard embryos that could work (second genetic advice super necessary) and (2) genetically testing is no warranty for a healthy baby. And this is very important to remember. In week 16 my genetically healthy baby boy showed up without kidneys. Please be aware that there are malformations that are not genetic and those we are all exposed to

We did both! My fertility clinic required us to do genetic testing before starting IVF. PGT testing on the embryos is different…it tests for chromosomal diseases like Down syndrome and Turner’s syndrome that doesn’t have anything to do with your own genetics. Highly recommend doing both if you have a choice

Also if you’re taking estrogen or progesterone, those hormones can also give you a false negative.

Americans try to adopt those children but we are turned away. Muslim countries do not allow adoption into non Muslim families. It’s the Muslim governments keeping these kids in poverty and distress. We tried to adopt and were willing to adopt siblings so kids could stay together. First after the earthquakes then after the Gaza war started. Both times we were shut down because Muslims would rather have their kids die than have a perfect life with wealthy non Muslim families 💔 If any agency is actually allowing adoption please give me the name.
